Zero cap risk too, the contract can be buried if needed

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>A_K</b></div><div>I can't stand this narrative that somehow the Blues lost this trade because of the standings. ROR is our leading scorer and hasn't done anything to question his work ethic/dedication/leadership abilities. He's not the one to blame for the Blues sucking - in fact, we've been bad for an entire calendar year at this point, long before ROR joined the team. I can't imagine where we'd be without making the trade... it wouldn't be at the top of the league, that's for sure.</div></div>
I was more commenting on the trade being a loss as the 1st the blues gave up is looking to be a lottery pick
Makes a huge diff

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jamiepo</b></div><div>Peformance bonus rollover from last season.</div></div>
But we were under the cap last year, the perf bonuses did not get cap credited to last year ??
So does that mean the pot perf bonuses of 5.4 this year auto roll to next year ???

Help me understand the cap
I can see it being with Hortons salary
Because I think when a player is ltir you can go over the cap by that amount
So the cap hit is more not evened out
But why is the diff still 2.825
Does it have something to do with escrow ??

If the Leafs cape hit is.....
Potential Perf bonus 5.4M
Forwards 32.745
Def 19.813
Goal 5.675
Retainned Kessel 1.2
59.15M Cap
Why is our cap hit 67.283 ???
If you factor in Horton
Thats +5.3
Thats 64.458
There is still a diff 2.825M

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Goulet</b></div><div>None of the numbers are good.
Term brings the aav down, not up.
Nylander is 4years to UFA, Marner/Matthews 5.</div></div>
Larkin got 5 years 6.1 per
Same numbers as Nylander
Good comparable to Nylander and Larkin as a natural center
Everybody saying really good deal for Wings
Repliessss......
He got less because they did not get any UFA years
He is a UFA at the deals end
And Larkin is not playing with Matthews

(CAR / BUF) - Pu and picks for Skinner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>seb</b></div><div>Ok, this trade makes Buffalo much better. First of all, why Carolina traded Skinner ? They will not make the playoffs once again because of an awful trade. They seemed to be getting better, and now it's bad all over again in Carolina. Trading a 200 goal scorer for three round pick and a prospect. Not the worst trade you can do, but the best thing was to stay put. Watch him have 30 goals with Jack Eichel. At least, Botterill is trading for good linemates for Eichel and Middlestadt. Great redemption Buffalo !!!</div></div>
All good comments seb and all true
Canes know him better than anyone, that says something ( although Waddell has made his share of bad deals )
He'll be asking for 7-8 m next year, assuming he follows up with a decent year as he is a ufa
And has had concussion issues
If he has a good year and resigns and a decent amount and his new contract is good value based on production ( Buff Wins the trade........for now )
And in 5 years we will decide again...... depending on the picks and Pu

(CAR / BUF) - Pu and picks for Skinner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NateElder12</b></div><div>with three good forwards, average goaltending, and their best dman as a rookie? Idk if I'd say Skinner is going to push them into the playoffs. We'll see though. This looks more like setting up for the future rather than a "contend/win-now" move. They probably hope to get a 26-year-old winger locked up before he goes to market and they have to compete with the rest of the league for his services.</div></div>
Prior to this trade I had the Sabres moving out of the basement and more into an 11-13 team in the conf. If Skinner has a good year ( and it is his contract year )
Maybe an 8-9-10 team is possible. If Eichel is healthy all year, if he takes another step forward
If Dahlin is as good as projected and wins the Calder
Buff has 3 1st rounders next year
We're gonna be talking a lot more about Buffalo before too long
They are trending to be a playoff team in 1-3 years

If you are targeting Subban you are going after his shot, vision and generally speaking for his offence.. In terms of offence do you know Gardiner had just 4 points less than Subban in last 2 seasons and in this one Gardiner is going to overcome Subban offensively in terms of points. Gardiner may very likely have Carlson kind of season because its his contract year and he would play greatly. Just watch.. what is the 2 things Subban has that Gardiner hasnt? Hitting and name...</div></div>
Just watch is right
Gardiner is a giveaway machine
A big part of the reason we lost in the first round
