Totally fair. I thought wings had some space and seemed to want legit NHLers now. But you can swap them out for another team then.

The Nyquist cap dump? Yeah he can go anywhere, Hawks are an easy target since they're clearly tanking, but Nashville can have him too of course.

Can’t seem to find Muzzin on the list…</div></div>
Andy and Rono repackage other people's work. They aren't statisticians. Look at a card: it says data derived from natural stat trick, puck iq, and Corey Sznajder. Nst isn't advanced stats. Puck iq is some closed source bs that says "qoc matters more than you think". Corey tracks zone entries and exits but doesn't actually do advanced stats.
I could write a ****ty blog post that regards Muzzin as the best defenseman in the world, doesn't mean it's worth listening to. Citing these guys is akin to citing uncle Bob's drunken thanksgiving rants.

Because he doesn't have arbitration rights. Dermott signed for 874k. Sandin has no leverage. If there's an offer sheet coming, great, let's see it. But there isn't. So he can sit or sign.

Do you know anything about Muzzin? Lmao. He's easily better than those two, the only question is health. If he is healthy he is a shutdown, physical defenseman with sneaky good offensive instincts. He hits, he shoots, he clears the front of the net, and he plays smart hockey. You don't have to assume nobody knows anything about the Devils except for you. Those guys are fine players. Decent, nothing wrong with them. But Muzzin is better. He's just older and not quite worth his cap hit to the Leafs given his injuries. If he can stay healthy (not a far fetched idea), he will be solid.

Nah you're totally right, I just want to clear his cap hit and I don't want to get into an argument over whether he'd return a 2nd from this team or a 3rd from that team. I'm just like, look, he's gone, we have the room to do these things. Insert draft picks here.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logan_Ollivier</b></div><div>No it can't be worse than Ritchie. But it can and would be, much much worse than Marner.</div></div>
Yes, obviously. But the current setup is like a 10/10 line, a 6, a 8 (with minimal offense), and a 4. My proposed lines (granted, after trade additions) are a 9 (any line with Matthews is at least a 8), a 8 or 9, a 6 or 7, and a 8 (defensively).

Do you trust a third line against Matthews even without Marner? I'd think not. Pick a shift at random from the past two months and it'll show Matthews on an absolute mission, constantly hounding the puck and creating offense.
Comtois isn't amazing but he'll hit and muck about and get elevated by Matthews. He just needs to stand near the net and shove some guys. Can't be worse than Ritchie, right?

Ducks are my best friend
Ahh I see the anti Leafs brigade is out in full force. None of these ducks assets are in their prime, the time to get full good value on them was two years ago. Niemela alone is worth more than Lindholm and Rakell. But I'm sure Verbeek will somehow get a better deal than this.
Besides, did I not say increase the cost however you like? Reading is hard.
The salary retention point is fair, pretend it goes through a third team that's paid a 4th to save 2M on Rakell.

No, I don't see them going for it either, I just mention it to compare the value of what's requested by Arizona and what I'm offering. Niemela is a step down and Robertson another step down, so throw in Abruzzese and a 3rd to make up the value.

I'd love to acquire him for a song but I know he's good. This kind of excludes us from making another big trade for JT Miller, for example, as we'd be giving up all of our top prospects. Giving up half of them is acceptable. We still have Amirov (please get well buddy) and Knies, as well as Sandin and Liljegren. Plus who needs Niemela when Chychrun is there? Given the rumoured asking price from Florida of Lundell, Knight, and a 1st, I assume this is comparable.

Who cares about the offseason after a cup win hahaha. That's future Dubas's problem. We need success asap.
Maybe Muzzin never plays again due to back to back concussions and other injuries piling up (back to back playoffs getting hurt, looking hurt all of this year, etc). Maybe he's on ltir and sent to Arizona to hit the cap floor until his contract is done. Idk.
If he's healthy in the offseason, Chychrun can move to the right and give us a great top four, and we can move Kerfoot and Mrazek out.
