yeah for Hughes i know its not the conventional pick, but reading about him on twitter that describe him as an elite D make me believe he could finish a better player than Zadina.
also, in the past few draft, Montreal showed that they draft mostly C and D in the first 5 round. I believe they will continue in that path

is Milano on the 2nd line is realistic? or its based off hopes for next year?
i had milano in a pool, i traded him recently. how is he seen in Columbus?
for the Spezza trade, not sure Dallas would do that. Spezza is at his final year of his contract, while Dubinsky has 3 more seasons at an insane price. Honka doesnt worth the cap jam that Dubs brings.

Habs - Go West Young Men (EDM-CAL-ANA trades)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RoadRunner72</b></div><div>Good point - the idea is that they can't trade for the top 6C at reasonable price so they are drafting that position. And with defense like that starting next fall, they'll have another lottery pick in 2019.</div></div>
if you expect to finish out of the playoffs, why dont you trade Pacioretty?
I've only heard good things about Kotkaniemi. I'm not a big fan of Veleno though.

Habs - Go West Young Men (EDM-CAL-ANA trades)
I'd be surprise that EDM get Petry back for such a price, after letting him go for cheap.
The problem in your moves is that you dont asses the problem in montreal, which is a top 6 C. Strome is not expected to do the job, and montreal is full of 35-40 points fowards.

trade explanation:
Pittsburgh try to free up some space in a Kessel trade.
Byron is no Kessel but he's a cheap Winger that scores 20 goal a year for the past 2 years playing anywhere in the 3 first lines. with his speed, i feel there's a fit for him in Pitts, if they can move Kessel and gain so cap room.
Montreal need to free some space on the wings, Hudon on the 4th doesnt make sens.
LA is in the mix for Pacioretty.
I retain 50% to maximise the return on him.
add 2018 2019 2020 2nd round pick, to compensate LA 1st rounder, and mostly because Vilardi will play for the Next 8 years in Montreal, and Pacioretty could play for only 1 year.
if he sign in LA, montreal gets back there 2019-2020 pick.
-let me know your opinion about this. is it not enough? too much?-
First round pick for Montreal would be Hughues. Highest ceiling in the draft after Dalhin and Svechnikov. After reading Bergevin interview in NHL.com, i'm expecting a little surprise.
First round pick acquisition by LA would be Wilde. But won't play NHL anyway.
Finally, no JT cause i dont believe he will sign in MTL.

Canadiens de Montréal
Zadina plays LW.
your trade offer for both oilers 1st rounder and Erikson Ek doesnt look realistic IMO.
Perron, 30 y/o wont sign a 2 year deal. Montreal has enough winger anyway, id give that money to stastny.

Mock Draft top 10 PREDICTION
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gammagreen02</b></div><div>Reports are that Bouchard is at the top of Detroit's draft board post-Dahlin. Hughes is second on that list.</div></div>
General report, yes, but many scout put Hughues as the best D available after Dahlin.
The old school scouts put him lower because of his frame. But his upsides, hockey IQ are threw the roof.
