Jets Nucks Hawks
I think that’s a reasonable return for Miller. Canucks fans on this site overvalue Miller on CF. Rangers fans undervalue Miller on CF. As a Canucks fan I’d love one of the rangers second round picks in lifer in return for retention on Miller as ownership typically hasn’t retained salary in the past. But overall good thoughts and definitely the framework of a deal that could work for both teams

Where do you see Schneider fitting into the Rangers long term plans? Right side of Fox, Trouba, and Lundqvist seems pretty set. Left side of Lindgren and Miller ain’t bad either so essentially leaves one roster spot on his offside. They are one of the few teams that’s loaded on the back end. Makes sense to trade from a position of strength to a position of weakness up the middle?

Miller has outscored Ardvisson 118-53 in the last two season so not sure what you mean by not agreeing with the assessment of you players involved but welcome to your own opinion. I’m guessing by the age problem.. it’s not really to do with Miller and Ardvisson as they are the same age.. more so Fabbro and Schmidt side of the deal which is fair because of the age difference. What happened with Fabbro in the playoffs and down the stretch? I was very surprised he was a scratch in playoffs and played Carrier and others over him. Obviously I’m a fan of his and think he would be a good fit for Van

Maybe it should have been explained more clearly in the description.. essentially it was showing without anchor contracts Vancouver could have offered 2 seconds for Toews from the islanders.. not that they would get him from the Avs

Gotta read the post before that’s why the title is year 2. Without you having to read the other post it’s essentially saying without Vancouver’s anchor contracts they could have offered the same price Colorado paid to get Toews from the Islanders

He’s under contract this year in the final year of his rookie deal. He’s an 10.2 next summer which means he can’t be offered sheeted next summer either. Gotta go check out his contract just to give you a heads up!

Hughes can’t be offersheet’d. He’s a 10.2c Regardless you would be doing Vancouver a favour and saving them money at that term.

I politely disagree with you. Buch is just a shade over 3 which is more than Virtanen will make however he is a legit top 6 right winger which would allow them to pass on signing Toffoli. I think it would be very beneficial to have a Russian on the roster to help Podkolzin’s transition to the NHL. I like Zack a lot and think he is a perfect 4th liner but Andersson is still on his ELC and has a higher ceiling in my opinion. I haven’t watched him play since his world j’s day and obviously has struggled in New York so my take might be wrong.. but he was a good two way center for Sweden and I think he would be a good fit on the 3rd line rotation taking draws with Gaudette and bringing a better defensive presence. Also his past connection with Pettersson might help him recover his game. Just my thoughts and think that would be a nice trade for Van

Cheaper Bottom 6 and RD Overhaul
Few thoughts on my personal opinion. I think Cernak is a great partner for Hughes whether it be offersheet or trade. I feel like giving up a first for two year of Manson is a lot. I know you get to dump Beagle in the deal but essentially Manson and Cernak bring similar skill sets.. so I feel a puck moving dman that can drive transitional play and run a second power play would be good to pair with Edler. As for big RW as a place holder.. they have Zack in the system who fits that description who would cost under a million dollar a year. Not sure if he is ready for 3rd line deployment if that’s the case Leivo is a better fit than AA. Pacquette is a waste of a pick if Sutter is being healthy scratched. Although overpaid Sutter brings as much value as Cedric in a 4th line capacity. Also signing Toffoli will cost them the 4th round pick you gave away in that trade as it is conditioned on the Toffoli trade. Finally I don’t think it is wise to rush Hoglander to the NHL. Let him season a year in the AHL if it happens get used to North America sized ice and I think he would be ready to make the jump next season. Overall good thoughts just my honest assessment on your post

True he might.. but in a pandemic and with the cap not rising might take a bit more money now on a 2 year deal. Can’t speak to the player or agents mindset but could prefer a qo and bet on himself next year

Jake is a very good skater. I would say that’s his number one asset if that helps. More so his hockey sense and two way play is his negative aspects

Vancouver likes Gaudette but he is an RFA who can’t be offersheeted and has no arb rights so I feel like he is a guy that is going to be squeezed. Realistically they could just qualify him and he would make under a million.. so I think they could get him around this price on a two year deal. Just my thoughts if that helps you understand a low contract he might be getting

Blueline shuffle and Demko the man - Year 1
Overall good thoughts and fairly realistic nice work. I feel like Demelo had a good year and is maybe a top four d.. but top pairing seems like a risk. I know giving up draft picks isn’t wise as they have given up so much... but I feel squeezing Tampa and aquiring Cernak would be a better fit, more similar in the mold of Tanev just younger and a bit more physical. An offer sheet might be expensive, but offering up Rafferty who looks to be nhl ready on a cheap contract and a 2nd to Tampa might entice them.. or a second and Kole Lind Or something along those lines could maybe get it done. Just my opinion.. but good job

From a Vancouver perspective to move Boeser would require a couple things to make sense. Get a RHD top four defenceman which Severson checks that box. First round pick back. Which was included in this trade check. Finally cap dump/dumps especially with 2 years left when Van needs the money for Petey and Quinn. So Stecher who isn’t a cap dump and Benn wouldn’t solve that issue because he only has one year left and only makes 2 million. Cap dumps Vancouver needs to rid of in a deal like this would be Eriksson or Beagle + Roussell
A deal that I believe makes a lot of sense for both teams would be Boeser, Eriksson and Benn for Severson and Van’s first round pick

What? I’m guessing you are a massive Boston fan and love Macavoy and Carlo based on your username. On this proposal Carlo isn’t enough for Boeser and Van should ask for Macavoy especially if Demko was included. No I don’t think Boston would do that... just stating that Carlo wouldn’t be enough and that’s what an ask would be back
