<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>Hard pass on the MN trade. Ian Mitchell is the most NHL ready out of our defensive prospects. Gus is playing great and cost controlled for another season. Zucker probably wouldn't waive and there are too many wingers available in free agency to give up all these assets for him. I like Brodin but not at the cost of Gus, Ian mitchell and picks because again, there are too many free agent wingers to put huge amounts of trade value into zucker.

I think the Columbus trade is a good one. The SJ trade makes a lot of sense if Hawks are out of contention.

In summary, forgo the MN trade and grab a guy like Dzingel for $5.5M. Keep Gus on the second line LHD position and pair him up with Murphy. Either Mitchell or Boqvist comes up on the 3rd line paired with Seabs. Forget Kruger, Kampf is the future 4C and either sign Perlini or Sikura for the 4th winger or bring up players Fortin, Barratt, Kurashev, Hagel, Entwistle as at least one of those guys will make the team. This would save money and assets and the results wouldn't be much different.</div></div>

I disagree with you on Gus. Boqvist makes him redundant. Sell high on Gus because other prospects are going to leapfrog him and there definitely won't be a role for him here in 2020-2021. However, I think the Hawks might be overpaying in your deal. I don't see them trading Mitchell for 2 years of Brodin and I don't think Zucker has played to his salary and the contract runs into his 30s. Maybe it's fine if the 2021 draft class is below average, but if it's a strong class, it's an overpay for sure.

Jackets trade is good, but I don't see them giving up a pick for taking on a fringe player and bad contract.
