Oh there's an option to select 2019-2020 when creating these btw.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DaBus</b></div><div>This is fair but the reasoning behind this is the Hawks need a LHD more than a RHD and Sergachev can play now while saving TB some cap. Also we only get Callahan for one year but because of that we do not include any other pieces in the trade</div></div>
I think the Hawks will be in the playoffs next year though and Callahan's contract makes it harder for them to be buyers.

Trading Saad and Anisimov to free up Cap
I think you need to add a midlevel prospect to the Arty deal or make the 3rd a 4th. I don't think Saad will be traded, he's been better this year.

With prospects coming and guys on ELCs to resign over the next couple of years, I'd rather have Murphy's term over 2 years of Brodin in which he'll probably walk before the Hawks are cup contenders.

Good. He's not bad for cheaper though. My main issue was that the term was too long. I wouldn't go beyond 2 years with Chiasson. 2 years with 1.5 million cap hit isn't bad.

type of moves we should make if we want to compete again long term
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>Hard pass on the MN trade. Ian Mitchell is the most NHL ready out of our defensive prospects. Gus is playing great and cost controlled for another season. Zucker probably wouldn't waive and there are too many wingers available in free agency to give up all these assets for him. I like Brodin but not at the cost of Gus, Ian mitchell and picks because again, there are too many free agent wingers to put huge amounts of trade value into zucker.
I think the Columbus trade is a good one. The SJ trade makes a lot of sense if Hawks are out of contention.
In summary, forgo the MN trade and grab a guy like Dzingel for $5.5M. Keep Gus on the second line LHD position and pair him up with Murphy. Either Mitchell or Boqvist comes up on the 3rd line paired with Seabs. Forget Kruger, Kampf is the future 4C and either sign Perlini or Sikura for the 4th winger or bring up players Fortin, Barratt, Kurashev, Hagel, Entwistle as at least one of those guys will make the team. This would save money and assets and the results wouldn't be much different.</div></div>
I disagree with you on Gus. Boqvist makes him redundant. Sell high on Gus because other prospects are going to leapfrog him and there definitely won't be a role for him here in 2020-2021. However, I think the Hawks might be overpaying in your deal. I don't see them trading Mitchell for 2 years of Brodin and I don't think Zucker has played to his salary and the contract runs into his 30s. Maybe it's fine if the 2021 draft class is below average, but if it's a strong class, it's an overpay for sure.
Jackets trade is good, but I don't see them giving up a pick for taking on a fringe player and bad contract.

One Likely Scenario
Arty deal is probably too little, but it's the Sens. I think he's worth a 3rd and a midlevel prospect or just a 4th. Wennberg deal is a bargain for the Hawks.

I think Boqvist will be better than Sergachev in the long run, so I wouldn't do that trade. No way we take Callahan's terrible contract too.

If everything goes right this offseason
Honestly, I think Boqvist makes the team (or at least gets 9 games with entry level slide). I think Gus gets traded as he's redundant with Boqvist on the team and you can sell high on him. He'll be leapfrogged by Beaudin and Mitchell eventually too. I don't have either of them as locks for next year, especially the former. Below is what I think happens. I think the Blackhawks will be back in the playoffs next year if they add to the forward group.
Keith
Seabrook
Jokiharju
Murphy
Boqvist
Mitchell

Back To The Playoffs
All of these trades are unrealistic. Dermott is worth more than Rutta. TBL will need much more than that for Sergachev and Keith for OEL isn't happening. I don't mind trading Arty and Goose and I think Arty should and will be traded this offseason, those returns are too significant. Habs 2019 first rounder will probably be in the lottery. They wouldn't give up a lottery pick for Arty.

I would rather take the draft pick compensation for not matching an offer sheet than pay him that much.

Krys has had issues in his own end, but there is still time for him to improve in that area.

Sens were rumored to be interested in Kempny at one point. It wouldn't have surprised me if they decided to take a flyer if he got waived.
