as a MTL fan i would like this DAL trade but you will get destroyed by DAL fan .
i think the asking price for Petry is close to what we receive for Lekhonen :
prospect B+1st round OR prospect A + 2nd round
here i add a 2nd on MTL side to receive a 1st

draft pick are in2023 because it will happen after the draft and the start of UFA if Dallas cannot get a replacement for Klingberg with UFA.

Why Oilers fans always trade Kassian to MTL we don't want him AND we don't have the cap space, at least not yet.(and this is if we make trade this summer).
take out Evans and the 3rd round and maybe just maybe MTL take it (if other trades works for cap space)and buy out Kassian because they absolutly don't want him near their club.Or retain salary and ship him elsewhere as long is far away from MTL.

OK then just terminate the contract like San Jose did with Kane
SJ had no valide reason other then they don't want him anymore and Kane did not want his contract terminated and SJ have no penalities.

one other point , if i remember correctly . no insurrance company want to take Price contract so it's MTL Canadien that pay him (on the LTIR or not) so he just have to retired and Molson hired him with his company like that his cap will not be add here. Molson still pay Price so Price is happy and MTL doesn't have his contract so MTL is happy and invest that money elsewhere.

he means like Weber (and few players before him )he is place on LTIR but everyone know he is retired, Vegas already said he(Weber) will never wear their uniform .
but i would prefer MTL terminated the contract like San Jose did with Kane. if it work for one team it supose to work for every team.
and if it doesn't work it means San Jose have cheat and the ligue let it go because they are supose to have penality .

even if i am not a fan of Anderson contract MTL will not retain salary for 5 years it's not realist. You will have the same kind of player with the 2nd overall pick this year you just have to be patient a little and it cost you nothing. No i'm not saying i want the 2nd for Anderson i'm not that delusional.

good post , i think all 3 team accept . you targeted specific players and were not affraid to paid the price even more then what it actualy cost (IMO). But as a MTL fan i accept it .

saddly it's a little more complicated then that . STL don't really have bad contract (Sundqvist have his value )i think maybe close to Lekhonen maybe a little under but that change the dinamic of the trade . as i said the value is ok i just don't know how we can fit him on this team and apparently they are interreted in him so they see something i don't for a solution.

the problem i can see is that a team can't retain 100% of a contract the max they can retain is 50% . and a player can have his salary retain by max 2 team (that not appen here but just for information) . you did't take that into account here and the math just can't work . as for the value of the trade i think you are around it , maybe a bit more maybe a bit less dependind the person who respond is fan of wich team ;-)

i don't know why but i see Galchenyuk with the Caps (because of Ovi , maybe an other russian guy can wake him up ) or with the Oilers (they need some talent on wings , maybe he does not have much heart but he have some talent will it be enough) . i think contract wise you were spot on 1M for 1 year (1M max, 750k is better) is a good bet for any team who want to take a guess on him.

Chiasson to habs it's 90% oilers fan not MTL one , i don't remember seeing a habs fan doing this trade . and yes Lehkonen is really good defensively but damn it's hard to put the puck in the net he miss so many opportunities

MTL looking for top 6 RW not bottom 6 , we already have plenty of those . and we don't have enough cap space to be interested in Chiasson someone will need to go the other way (Byron or Lehkonen but you don't have the cap space either ). So it's just don't work , stop trading him to us .
