These move would be stupid by the habs. Better to keep in mind the rebuild. Even if they are in a playoff race, they have to sell Monahan, Edmundson and Drouin at least.

Because they have signed Weegar and they will get Hamonic as 6-7th D-men. Also they save 4.5 millions in cap space next year to bring in another impact player or someone similar to Tanec for a lower price.

2nd round pick.
Look at this year trade when a team want to shed cap.

Rental player. I don't think a team will gives way more than that. Contender teams can't resigned him to a deal at 9-10m. He will hit FA. So that's why 2 prospect and 1st is a good return for a rental player. I don't think a team will be ready to give similar prospect to Byfield or Vilardi for a rental player.
If CGY don't accept that, then at the end of the year the Tkachuk trade will be looking like that :

1. Way too much going to CGY in this trade. Kyrou and a 1st is about the value.
2. Tarasenko has a no trade clause and is not going to CGY
3. Tkachuk is not signing for less than 10M a year
4. I like the Kessel signing but it's just not gunna happen...
Bottom line, CGY ain't getting 3 valuable roster players... AND a 1st round pick</div></div>
In that way, CGY only get control on Kyrou...
We have to think that Barbashev and Tarasenko are not back next year and will walk to UFA.
Also, to get Matthew in the lineup STL need to make room under the cap.
He take a discount to play in his hometown.

Yes, but they get a ready NHL player in Anderson and then they can also make a steal at the draft because there's not significant difference between the player.

BTW Anderson on his own right now is worth more than any prospect in the 10-15 range, so why are we adding so much more just to get what we would for Anderson alone?</div></div>
I first sent the 6th to MTL and 12th to NJD, but i'm not convinced the devils would like to send the 2nd OA, who could potentially be Slafkovsky, projected as a powerforward who can score, for Anderson and 12th picks...

I think Wood is a must for this team. His game is similar to Coleman, Goodrow and Paul.
I also think Robertson need a fresh start elsewhere. Zacha could potentially become a really good 3rd line center behind Tavares and Matthews with some PP time on the 2nd unit.

Only thing that need to know is if the devils want to be in the playoff next year, this trade give them more chance than keeping Cooley or Slafkovsky as rookie.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>glarson17</b></div><div>Lol did you really say Boucher is a top prospect? If you truly believe that then there’s much more wrong than this trade proposal. Literally 0 other teams take him in the top 20-25 at least. 14 points in 24 OHL games and only 3 points in 17 NCAA games is not a top 10 pick. Just because Ottawa massively screwed up that pick that early doesn’t mean he’s a top prospect. Jarventie is okay, maybe a 2nd liner if he fully develops. I don’t see it, probably is more of a 3rd liner. Still, that’s not close to Timo.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FunMustBeAlways</b></div><div>Boucher is a 2nd round talent that Ottawa decided to pick 25 spots early instead of Sillinger or Coronato lmao. That doesn’t make him a fantastic prospect.</div></div>
I totally agree with you, but in the sens prospect pool he is a top prospect. I'm still wondering why they take him at 10th OA.
Give me other prospect you could look at ? Sokolov? Crookshank?

Boucher and Jarventie are top prospect. Boucher 10th OA in 2021.
Jarventie need at least another year in AHL. Then he would be a really good middle 6 player.
