Only a wildcard team because Oettinger will bail this team out all season
Unfortunately they don’t even manage to win a playoff game

If they were a team in Metro…likely playoff team. Still like Carolina’s blueline better, Devils forwards better (and NY teams’ goaltending).
If they were playing fictional Metro team in playoffs, they’d lose 4-1 in series on Game 5 OT goal by Luke Hughes.

Greig can get 35-40pts
Kubalik can get 40pts
Chychrun and Chabot can get 50pts
Sanderson can get 40+ pts and elite defence
Korpisalo and Forsberg can combine for .910-915

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>cody_tugak</b></div><div>Joseph on the second line? Are you ok my friend?</div></div>
He played with Tkachuk and Norris when he was first traded to Ottawa, scored 12 pts in 11 games
His speed and forecheck are definitely an asset, would turn a lot of pucks over for Norris and Batherson to create scoring chances. Sure he's not a "legit top-6 forward" but even his offense is underrated. He scored a lot of ES goals/points with the little ice-time he had in Tampa Bay.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>At least I’m not delusional thinking I’m getting a 1st for taking Joseph</div></div>
It's much worse when you couple it with thinking that Scott freaking Laughton is worth 1st + 2nd
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>McSorley</b></div><div>I don't understand how Sens fans can be hyped for their season when you look at the RW, C, and LW spots, they suck. Well most likely just troll/provocative post but still going to address it :
Center line is supposed to be Stutzle-Norris-Pinto-Kastelic
- Stutzle paced for 95 pts starting the season as a 20 y/o
- Norris scored 47 goals in 91 games, prior to last season, at 21-22 y/o. But not only that, he's a top notch 200 ft Center
- Pinto scored 20 goals as a rookie after missing a full season, but not much compared to where he's heading as a 2-way Center
- Kastelic is huge, a fitness freak, pretty decent defensively and was Top-12 in FO% in his rookie season
RW is supposed to be Giroux-Batherson-Tarasenko-Joseph
- Giroux, who is aging like fine wine, scored 35 goals (career high) and 79 pts last season while bringing an excellent 2-way game
- Batherson "only" scored 62 pts last season but he had a rookie as a Center (who had missed a full season) and a disinterested guy in DeBrincat. Not only that, he was still recovering from a serious injury from that Dell cheapshot. He looked like the pre-injury Batherson in preseason, when he was the best Sens player (and had 34 pts in 31 games)
- Tarasenko : only 50 pts in 69 games last season but paced for 90 pts the season before. Not bad for your 3rd best RW
- Joseph : elite PKer, pretty good ES defense and even underrated ES production. One of the best skaters in the league, pretty good on the forecheck
LW is supposed to be Tkachuk - Kubalik - Greig - Smejkal
- Tkachuk, shouldn't have to explain anything about this PPG unicorn power forward
- Kubalik : pretty decent secondary scorer, another 20 goals season, 45 pts last year. Literally the guy who takes the most slapshots in the league per minutes he plays, which creates a lot of offense.
- Greig : blue chip 2-way forward prospect, always impressive advanced stats. Smart as hell, projects as a Jaden Schwartz type
- Smejkal : unknown in the NHL but pretty good stats in the Liiga and SHL the last 2 years. Left a very good impression in the TC, big body with some skill
Goaltending is supposed to be Korpisalo - Forsberg - Sogaard - Merilainen - Mandolese
- Korpisalo has actually been good since his hip surgery in March 2022, sometimes a surgery is all it takes to turn a career around.
- Forsberg was one of the best goalies in 2021-22, 12th best GSAA similar to Demko, 0.917 SV% on a team that was bad defensively is quite impressive. Again, he has shown in preseason how good/underrated he was
- Mandolese is my 3rd here because he's more NHL ready than the other 2 who are still pretty young and need more development. Mando actually looked quite good when he played in the NHL.
Defense is Chychrun-Sanderson-Chabot-Zub-Brannstrom
- Hard to say who is the better among the first 3 guys, they are 3 legit #1 D-men which is actually a LOT to look forward to
- Zub is a good defensive RHD, was in the top 10% percentile in EV defense in the recent past
- Brannstrom was literally the best or one of the best #5 D-men last season, fantastic 2-way metrics. The thing is he looked even better when Chabot was injured and his minutes got higher. Looks like he's going to take another step from the pre-season.
Sens lost 2 pre-season games and the 2 times it was a Habs almost NHL lineup. Sens were icing Greig, Kubalik, Joseph, Brannstrom and some AHLers/prospects, came close to beat them in both games.

No chance the Center line is not Stutzle - Norris - Pinto - Kastelic if all are on the roster.
Tkachuk - Stutzle - Tarasenko
Kubalik - Norris - Batherson
Greig - Pinto - Giroux
Joseph - Kastelic - MacEwen
Notes :
- You need Tarasenko to produce offense to be relevant. Best way to do that is with Tkachuk and Stutzle.
- Never break the Norris-Batherson duo.
- Greig needs Giroux's mentorship

Sogaard has been consistently ranked as a top 10 goalie prospect in the nhl. He was an early 2nd round pick and he’s easily a B prospect if not B+

Interesting. Some questions:
1. Where will Ottawa finish in the ranking?
2. What will most likely be the PP?
3. Who is likely to have a breakout year or who will surprise in terms of point production? Who is advantaged by the line combinations?
4. Who is likely to have a bad year in point production?
5. How many games each goalie is likely to play?

23 24 Bruins
I don't know, guys... I know ACGM is all in fun, so I don't want to go overboard in analyzing this trade, but... This seems like a SHOCKINGLY good offer; enough, frankly, to give me pause.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Oliver Moore. I, too, am thrilled the Hawks got him. I remember the night of the draft, a young analyst for ESPN/NHL Network (can't remember his name) offered that he had Moore ranked at #8! In this stacked draft, that's saying something. Plus, I think Moore is super competitive, who wants to be the best... On an ESPN special following the journey of top picks up to and including the draft, Moore was profiled, and he (among other things) talked about being inspired by Bedard to work hard - to be as good as or better (!) than him (Bedard). Moore could have a powerful impact on the Hawks (barring injury, of course.) Kaiser, too, is quite promising, and Stauber COULD be.
On the other hand, the Bruins have what is ranked by the Athletic as the worst prospect pool in the NHL (just like last year). Lohrei and Beecher are two of only three picks they felt even worth discussing. All of Moore, Kaiser, and Stauber could rank in BOS' Top 10 prospects, IMO - Moore, at the top of it.
Anyway, my main point is that as a team now put together with patches and baling wire, possessing such a barren prospect pool, BOS probably offers extremely high 1st round, "unprotected" picks in 2026 and 2027 (their 2025 1st may yet be spoken for.) Combined with an established, young G (Swayman), a decent young D (Gyzelcyk) who can play now, and two middling prospects... it could be a shockingly good return in time.
And it's not like Moore is the ONLY F prospect the Hawks have. The last two drafts have gone a long way to loading up the prospect pool. I'd have to go through the Five Stages of Grief to lose Moore, but the Hawks have other exciting prospects, too. Yes, it may kick our resurgence down the road a year, but gathering such assets as is being offered here would go a LONG way to furthering KFC's stated goal: to be relevant as a contender on an on-going basis (i.e., not just for this resurgence). High, long-term, future 1st round picks would make that much more likely, IMO.
Shoot, I said I wasn't going to go overboard, yet I did, anyway. This could be an ACGM trade designed to get a rise out of both BOS and CHI fans. (If so, mission accomplished with me; I am so weak, LOL) Ah, well... Bottom line for me: it'd hurt like H*LL to lose Moore, but I might do this.
As I am wont to say... reasonable minds can disagree. Go ahead; let me have it! Cheers

I agree I think the offer is fair however, the Hawks are extremely high on both Kaiser and Moore. Trading them for the package offered above just moves the end date for the rebuild further out since the picks are 2/3 years away.

When did they refuse to trade Broberg for Chychrun? Because it makes the whole difference. Chychrun to Ottawa was a few months ago.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>Honestly I don't get what all the fuss is about Pinto, other than he's unsigned and people are bored waiting for camp to start. He'd be 4C in Edmonton. They certainly wouldn't give up a big package for him.</div></div>

More than likely miss the playoffs. Even if this team made it into the playoffs, they lack the top end talent up front to really do anything outside of maybe a 5 game series. Great dcore, one that should really benefit the goalies, but with the big lack of offense on this team, those goalies would have to be doing what Shesterkin has done and drag their team kicking and screaming into the playoffs.

I completely agree. I’d expect a highly inconsistent offence that dries up in important situations.
Plus I actually hope they’d suck, I despise low scoring hockey, especially with the decline in physical play. Now the only thing that keeps the game exciting is offence, so for me, watching these guys would be epically dull.
