hoglander or bust

Doubt we’d want Eller included as well</div></div>
Especially since Hoglander at that cap hit greatly outweighs Guentzel at 9M until late thirties

Lindholm to Boston might happen
I think maybe Lindholm for 2025 1st + Debrusk + 3rd or equivalent and VAN flips the picks and some prospects for Guentzel

It isn't that far off, there's 2 solid prospects in there. If you think Buch is getting more than the rumoured JT Miller package (1st + Chytil + Lundkvist) you're dreaming

I'd thought Arvidsson might get more, but coming off of big injury, you never know. Could always sign a depth guy and move Hoggy into that spot too

Signing Hronek and Linholm
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>canucksfan43</b></div><div>Both will get more. Hronek comes in at least 7.5 mil i think, I honestly have no clue what Lindholm will get but i think the number starts with a 7</div></div>
I think Hronek takes a 7x7 deal, similar to Devon Toews. And Canucks should look for a sign and trade/trade UFA rights to Lindholm to a team like Boston

Joseph and Mikheyev have similar production, one costs $1.8M more. Does it really cost a 1st to swap similar players?

Picks are mostly due to the potential $1.5-2M retention, not the prospect

Splashing Cash
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Matt1567</b></div><div>Harris is the same age as Podkolzin, I'm not doubting that Podkolzin has a higher ceiling, but right now Harris is the better player. If a deal like this were to happen it'd probably not be a straight 1-for-1 swap. And the canucks have have only got Hughes Soucy Poolman and Juulsen under contract for next season, so there's room for Harris if they want him. Podkolzin's been getting less NHL games each season since he came into the league, and this year it makes sense that he's not playing as the team is good and should be in the AHL if he's not beneficial to the Canucks, but the fact he struggled last year after a decent rookie season and hasn't been able to produce as well in the AHL as he did previously is a bit concerning if you ask me. I still believe there's a good player in there but there's a reality where he chooses to go back to Russia this summer rather than re-signing in Vancouver, because I think he deserves a chance in the NHL and the fact the canucks haven't gave him even one game yet this season could lead to him choosing to sign elsewhere.</div></div>
You could say the exact same thing about Hoglander last season, and look where he is now. The Canucks are doing the same thing with Podkolzin

If Guentzel is available he’d be my favourite target tbh. Proven playoff performer, actual winger for Petey, and the cap just barely works with an $8M extension. Obviously the extra year of term would be nice for a guy like Buchnevich or Konecny but them not being a pure rental would drive their price too high up

At the price he’s going for (Philly fans going to ask for Lekkerimäki or Willander), it’d be smarter to go for Guentzel instead.

Doubt the Canucks do that, they might if they can flip Kakko and the 1st to something of use. Goodrow sucks, and probably don't want the additional dead cap along with the OEL buyout.

That’s a fair price for a rental of Giroux’s calibre but at that point use the assets on a younger player
