Something Different
Yeah it was tough to find a cap dump for them. Hornqvist would clearly be the guy but extremely doubtful he agrees to a trade to Buffalo. Unless Buffalo would agree to flip him immediately to a contender and retain 50%.
Theoretically, Bennet + Hornqvist ( $9,725,000) would give them the room needed to fit Eichel and sign reinhart (Already have $7,830,378). The problem would be convincing Hornqvist to waive then dealing him.

Would be happy with
The thing I wonder (and I have no idea the actual answer) is how bad the injury really is. The original recommendation by all the doctors was 10-12 weeks of rest and rehab and he would be fully healed. Eichel wants a surgery that's never been done before but I wonder if he really wants the surgery or is just using it as an excuse/ device to get out of Buffalo.
IMO I think the player wants out of Buffalo more then he is actually injured but we'll never know if that's the truth or not, but there certainly are some rumors floating around...
The quickest way for Jack to get out of buffalo would be to come back and play (and be healthy), prove he is in fact a top 10 center in the league and I don't think it would be very long before you see him on another roster.
The Sabres aren't helping there position though by not allowing other teams access to his medical records. It's a very strange situation overall.

Everyone falls in love with their prospects yeesh 🙄
Again: not just Chytil but also Lundkvist
Niks Lundkvist just put up two straight historically good seasons in the SHL and he isn't 21 yet and Chytil's age 19 NHL season was similar to Cozens's</div></div>
listen, it's fine that you just looked at a few statistics and tried to put a fair trade together. I don't blame you for that; but as someone who watched this dumpster fire (sabres) all year...there is no way the sabres would make this deal. Cozens is legit the future captain of the team and short of some stupid offer from nyr, there is no way he gets moved.

Not fun or new but not unreasonable</div></div>
Yeah, the only way I see this getting beat is for arguments sake LA were to put up byfield (99.99% not going to happen) or if the Ducks were to include Zegras or Drysdale with the 3rd overall this year (still not likely but not out of the question)...I could see either of those teams trying to keep Eichel out of Vegas; because with Eichel, Vegas is an absolute juggernaut and has to be the cup favorite year over year.

People think Jack tanked his value because of the end of season presser. Maybe, but now every team is going to be calling on him. It should be pretty easy for Adams to pit a bunch of teams against each other for a bidding war and actually get more for him.
It'll be interesting to see if Adams will be up for the test. Basically he has to play chicken with a bunch of GMs.
Either way I doubt Jack is back with Buffalo. Who knows though.

well done putting all this work together. Obviously there are plenty of tweaks needed to be added to these trades but I would rank the top 3 as most likely to happen as the follows:
1. WPG
2. VAN
3. SEA (the picks intrigue me)

change both of those picks to 2021 1st and 2022 1st and I think you're on to something...maybe throw in Dustin Wolf as well.

Yeah I agree with you about big goalie contracts blowing up in teams faces. I tried to take a different approach of high dollar amounts for short years. If they could find a way to throw like 8 mill at Tuukka Rask or someone for 1 year (ala Taylor Hall) I would love that (although there is no way Rask would come to buf).
Be a nice stop Gap to give UPL another year in Roch and id still draft another goalie or 2 for the pipeline with there 10 picks in 2021.

the u-turn
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shibbal18</b></div><div>"Gave Sam a nice long raise." - I dont see Sam signing for less than $7 mill with this team, so 6 over 6 seems very unlikely. 0 interest in Power, let alone any of the dmen in the top of this draft, the Sabres are much better off trading the pick. Jokiharju gets more. Extremely hesitant to give Raanta that contract just because of his advanced stats on another team. Good luck getting Hyman to come to Buffalo, I want him but so do 31 other teams. Girgensons wont be LTIR next year and that 4th line will need way more Grit, not a place for Ruotsalainen or Thompson
McCabe is UFA, so Seattle takes someone that could walk in a week. Borgen would be the better option</div></div>
All fair points. Vegas took some UFAs so there is precedent for a guy like McCabe being taken. I think they protect 1. Eichel 2. Reinhart 3. olofsson 4. Mitts 5. Skinner 6. Asplund 7. Tage and for D 1. Dahlin 2. Joki 3. Borgen or Risto (I'd protect Borgen to expose Ristos salary) and then for G they're obviously protecting Ullmark. In this scenario McCabe gets scooped up but it could definitely be different idk.
If the team is willing to spend to the cap (which I'm not sure they are) in this scenario they still have $2,250,000 in cap room. So even if you include Grigenson, I wouldn't sign Sheenan leaving them with $800,000 in cap room. So it would take some moves to add another mill for Sam and pay Joki more. Not including there 1st rounder on the roster (which is most likely) gives them another $925,000 in cap room giving them $1,725,000 in room for Sam and Joki.
So it's definitely doable.
People seem to just have this thought that goalies don't matter in todays NHL. I don't buy that at all. having two potential starters can cover up for a lot of defensive deficiencies this team has. Also allows the team to play with more confidence helping elevate everyones game.
Just IMO.

I don't think keeping Granato would be a bad idea at all. We've just seen BB have success in this league and having a veteran HC in charge could help continue the development of these younger players.
I think Seattle will likely be picking from a group of Asplund, Miller, McCabe and Borgen. Depending on the situation I think they would lean towards taking McCabe but thats just my opinion.

That's fine. I was just moving him for salary purposes. Shouldn't be that difficult to recoup a 2nd. Also, like I said in the description he could be used to trade for LD depth as an alternative.

His TOI has remained the same and his advanced stats have improved. He hasn't been the anchor he's been in the past. If you watch the game you can also blatantly see he's playing better*. That's all I really care about. He's definitely not as good as some care to think but he's not as bad as people seem to think either.
