San Jose side of Hughes for Karlsson deal
Sir, please take a look at Vancouvers cap situation and inform me how they could make this work.
Then please tell me why they would want to?
Thank you

When did I say that Bozo? Even if you don't think Foote isn't worth first +, it's still more than 5 first round picks. Not junk you delusional Bruins fan

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>Tell me how you come to that figure. I guess holtz is okay. Mercer is decent. Couple okay prospects and a first. Woohoo</div></div>
Holtz = top 10 pick last year and looked great in the SHL. Might come to the NHL later this year
Mercer = Top 20 pick last year. Great value at 18, should have gone earlier.
Mukamudllin= Top 20 pick last year, risky pick but is looking promising in the NHL
Foote = First round pick two years ago, will be called up to the NHL soon. Very good prospect
2021 first round pick = going to be top 10, maybe even top 5
Boqvist = Solid player. 2nd round pick couple years ago
Daws = Good goalie prospect
Holtz = 1st+
Mercer= 1st+
Mukamadullin = 1st
Foote = 1st+
2021 first = 1st+
Boqvist + Daws = Maybe a first
Get your eyes checked

This is equivalent to 5+ first round picks. It's not "junk"

The NJD forward problem
As you get closer to being truly competitive again, spending on talent in free agency or through trades starts to make more sense. So perhaps in the near future, someone will become available via one of those methods and the Devils can use their surplus of assets to pounce on the opportunity.
This year, NJ will probably pick no later than 7th, so they’ll get another opportunity to take a potential top-6 forward, adding to that collection of four you currently have. So then let’s say you hit on 3 out of those 5. Ultimately that’s not so bad. Add a bigger name down the line or be surprised by one of the guys who you’re projecting to be bottom 6 now and you have a pretty good group for the top 6.
I definitely see your concern; beyond Hischier and Hughes, there’s very little wow-factor to this team’s future, but you know better than I do that they aren’t fine building. Will be interesting to see where they go next and what moves they make when they start getting a lot closer

Bastian should be back soon (not sure when though)
I would play Maltsev over Boqvist and Merkley
Zacha-Nico-Bratt
Kuok-Hughes-Yegor
Johnsson-Maltsev-Gusev/Merkley
Wood-McLeod-Boqvist/Bastian

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Richard88</b></div><div>Why would Coleman go back to NJ? He's going to get a lot of good offers from contenders, perhaps even including Colorado if they can move some salary out to make room.</div></div>
Id ask that same question of you ... Why wouldn't he go to NJ? He's familiar with the team / area, they have zero cap constraints / can pay top dollar and have a young and upcoming team with deep prospect pool.

Moving forward V 2
Devils shipping out Severson, Bratt, Foote and only getting back Tage Thompson, a 2nd, 3rd, and a 6th is such a joke lol.
I see you saying on another comment that NJ needs size and yet you give Gaudreau a ridiculous 8 x 9.5M deal? (you can also only go 7 years if you don't own the players rights)
And what on earth has Kyle Palmieri done to earn a 5 year deal at 6.5M AAV?!
I seriously hope this is a troll post because this is a disaster. thank god you're not the GM

Probably Lindholm.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>justaBoss</b></div><div>Ideally a 1st.</div></div>
I doubt they trade him...would really be surprised if he is not resigned. (5 years x $6-7 million). If they did trade him, it would be for more than Jake Gardiner and a pick. Hard to overstate how big of a hole his loss would create in lineup. Impact player in so many ways.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KakkoForMauriceRichardAward</b></div><div>Can't put into words how terrible this D-core is</div></div>
This is why trading Severson would be tough. But give it a year or two. They have one of the best defensive prospect pools in all of hockey.
