Leafs Forever
-Buffalo has no need to spend a 1st & a 3rd on Muzzin. There's plenty of veteran Ds out there that can give you 80-90% of what Muzzin gives without costing two picks *and* $5.625M of cap. I could see Buffalo thinking about it if you dropped the 1st rounder (3rd for Muzzin?) but I'll let Sabres fans weigh in on that possibility.
-That package seems okay for Fiala but can be beat if another team wants him more. Holl is zero value to Minnesota though, dump him out somewhere else - they already have Dumba, Spurgeon, and Addison ready to play RD. You can probably flip Holl out elsewhere for a 4th.
-I can't see Vancouver doing this kind of move without them already having moved JT Miller out for a ton of picks/prospects. As it stands now, there's not a ton of room in their top 9 when you look at who's already signed/who's still only an RFA this summer.
-Mrazek isn't the type of cap dump Arizona usually takes, his contract is backloaded and actually costs more in salary than his cap hit. I'd look at another, non-cap floor team like Chicago for this deal (but they might bleed you for more in terms of compensation).
-Reimer is probably able to be acquired this summer (unless they move on from Hill or Kahkonen) but as <a href="/users/crankshaft" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@crankshaft</a> said they're tight against the cap this summer and you're going to have to overpay to get some of that retention.
I'd honestly be worried about this team. The 4th line is brutal, that bottom pair is iffy at best, and you're at the cap with only 20 guys - so you're gonna need a lot of guys to either play through injury or spend more time than you'd want on LTIR.

What the Shark Doin
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>crankshaft</b></div><div>These lines are all wrong.
Young guys that will make the team are
Reedy
Chmelevski
Bordeleau
Eklund
Merkley

Coe
Ozzy
Verroneau
The additions you have made in the bottom six are pointless. Bordeleau>Eller, Reedy>Hinostroza, Nieto>Bokk. The trades, especially the Burns one are HORRID for the sharks. Burns is still a very good player and that kind of retention for a terrible return is just bad.</div></div>
Thank you for input on the young players. That is really the biggest challenge for me when I do neutral teams, I don't know the prospects well enough. You can scratch the bottom 6 players in that case, that is my mind sort of plugging holes due to lack of infortmation.
As for Burns, I'm not arguing here that he SHOULD be traded nor do I claim to say the return is ideal. Honestly most interested in if the location is a fit, I think on this site we all don't really know what the trade returns will be because GMs are kinda crazy.

Getting Minny a 1C
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>crankshaft</b></div><div>That size obsession will get them into trouble when they draft Geekie or McGroarty. Big guys who can't skate and by "can't skate" I mean they cannot freaking skate.</div></div>
I've watched every ICE game this season. Geekie is a fascinating player (and individual). His weird/high energy personality would be a fan favourite, but I think there are more issues to his game than his ability to skate. However, if you think you can extract a quality NHL player out of him, it may be in there.

I like this Dumba trade, maybe I would give up Thomson rather than Bernard-Docker, but other than that, that's a good deal.

Kulikov has a M-NTC, who would want to go to Chicago right now.
Beaudin was a former 1st round pick, he has probably been passed in the depth charts the last few seasons. But... the 3rd round pick isn't much of an incentive to take Kulikov and move on from the younger body. Especially when it helps out a division rival in cap trouble.
I could see Chicago giving Beaudin a different opportunity somewhere, but not for this.

good comparison for Kevin. it is more difficult for me to find a comp for Mateychuk. possibly a young Goligoski

Arizona didn't acquire all its picks to trade them away. We'll get our players in other ways, most likely as cap dumps like last summer.

Burns Fast forward to May pls
Easy Sharks decline. $12m in retained cap over 3 years, a good defenseman, a solid 1a/1b goaltender, and a pair of promising young forwards in exchange for basically just Nylander?
Also what the hell is that Mrazek trade? Most of the AGMs I see have the leafs giving up a 1st just to get his contract off the books, and you think a team will take him for nothing?

"Alright Toronto fans, start ripping me in the comments". It's the Jets fans that should be ripping you. Ehlers is as good as Nylander...maybe better, Ehlers is cheaper and has additional one year on his deal. And the Jets are adding a second and Appleton also? One sided in favour of the Leafs.

That's cool. Let Toronto keep Nylander then. Ehlers has a better contract and is a play driver, Nylander is a passenger. There is no doubt Ehlers is the better, more valuable player.
