Revised Vegas Deal
Horrible trade for Vegas. That package from Jersey is five mid-value pieces. Nothing of quality in return for Vegas, who is giving up three quality assets in this trade

The Islanders will have to likely pay multiple firsts to get out of the Lee and Mayfield contracts. Lou masterclasses right there. I think maybe if you take out Brannstrom and #7, then add some more value elsewhere, the Sens may consider it.

No they didn't lol. Goodrow is a valuable piece to the Rangers' playoff push. If he was offered for FC, he would be desired by at least a half dozen teams

No reason for the Rangers to trade Goodrow just to take on Strome's albatross contract. Maybe if Strome was retained but Anaheim wouldn't do that. We already replaced Strome with Trocheck who is twice the player. Find another team to try to dump Strome onto

Horrible trade for the Rangers. Lindgren to Chychrun is not much of an upgrade, especially with Lindgren's chemistry with Fox. Two firsts could probably return Giroux and Taresenko but still not the smartest deal for the Rangers. So then you're shipping out Kakko, Sykora, and a second to dump Goodrow, who the Rangers could buy out easily? Horrific

No Wennberg tonight for trade related reason
Wennberg has nowhere near the value of Kakko lol. Wennberg barely outproduces Kakko since he's returned (9v8 pts in their last 20), And Kakko is the Rangers' best defensive forward. If Wennberg is traded, it wouldn't be for a roster player anyway since that is counterproductive to the Rangers' need of depth. A more realistic trade would be a 3rd+Robertson or Jones

Blues Sellers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>StDetroitBlueWings</b></div><div>What if it were Schneider instead of KAM? Feels like the East is pretty open this year (and maybe next) so Rangers could just go all in which would lose them some younger pieces in the system but a cup could make it worth it. Could be the best shot they have with the core starting to creep up to their early 30s.
So Schneider, Kakko, Goodrow and a 1st (maybe conditional pick as well) for Buch and Hayes? Just those two fix their two biggest needs at the expense of what is currently a bottom pair d-man and a few bottom 6 pieces</div></div>
The value might be about right, but there is just no reason for the Rangers to make a trade addressing RW depth and trade away a top 6 RW. I also think Schneider will not be shipped off as he is likely the eventual Trouba replacement. I also don't think they need Hayes as Brodzinski has really played well. If they really want Buch Drury would likely need to part with the 1st, a high-end prospect like Berard/Sykora/BMB, and maybe a Zac Jones if the Blues want an NHL-ready dman

Rangers have no reason to offload top roster players and gut their depth. A lot of Rangers fans would love a Buch return but there is no reason to send Kakko/Key.

NYR Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>fangm</b></div><div>How are they playing horrible compared to past years?
Bert had 4 goals and 14 points when he was traded last year. His has nearly doubled the production at 5v5 per 60mins this year than he did when he was traded for a 1st+ last year.
Domis production on a per minute basis is the same this year as last. He's playing 3rd line not 1st obviously his numbers will drop.
Like seriously you come here to talk hockey and you don't know the first damn thing about hockey.</div></div>
Ironic lol. Obviously if Tyler Bertuzzi has continued to show he's not worth anything for two years, he'd be worth less than last year when the leafs were hoping he'd return to previous form. I wouldn't accuse people of not knowing hockey in your situation.

It's easy just looking at their past trades in the last 24 months to see their value.</div></div>
Except when you look at how they're all playing now. They're all horrific this season, all negative value. Using past trades to assess current value is inaccurate. Would Ryan Reaves go for a first, because he did in the past? No

Why would Drury accept four cap dumps for actually valuable players? None of those players are good, and they're all overpaid lol. Would Toronto accept a trade like Goodrow, Pitlick, Wheeler, for Knies and a 1st? Didn't think so

He's the best defensive forward on the Rangers, can play up and down the lineup, and can play PP and PK. He's just been snakebitten this season, but passes the eye test. He's in a similar situation to Zegras who's also been struggling, and Ducks fans think Zegras is still worth 3 firsts and a top prospect

The Rangers are looking to address depth. There is no way they part ways with a high quality roster player, furthering the issue they are looking to address. Kakko and Cuylle will not be moved

Kakko
People are saying this is an overpay, but would MTL take Brodzinski, Jayden Grubbe, Zac Jones, and the Rangers 2024 1st for Slaf? That's essentially equivalent lol. Yes Kakko has been underperforming points-wise, but he's objectively been the Rangers best defensive forward, and been injured and had no lineup consistency.

Your trade is equally as ridiculous. You're not getting Kakko just for taking on Goodrow. Probably not even getting that third. He lowkey has positive value because of his defensive ability and leadership. His status as a cap dump is way overstated.
