<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>d4rk1ll4</b></div><div>Interesting. Some questions:
1. Where will Ottawa finish in the ranking?
2. What will most likely be the PP?
3. Who is likely to have a breakout year or who will surprise in terms of point production? Who is advantaged by the line combinations?
4. Who is likely to have a bad year in point production?
5. How many games each goalie is likely to play?</div></div>
Ottawa being in the Atlantic Division will probably get 5th or 6th seed, 9th or 10th seed in the Conference narrowly missing the playoffs.
The options for powerplay lines are high, there might not even be two specific pp units they'll have all year, especially if Pinto pulls a McLeod and signs cheap for one year.
Breakout year in terms of point production goes to Brannstrom I'd say, also a good trade chip during TDL.
Goalies will probably split the load 50/50 as much as possible but my guess will be that Korpisalo plays more games

Hall-Suzuki-Mantha 1 realistic trade
It's not realistic, no need for Tatar, we are rebuilding, it's a bunch of your young kids and picks or no deal sporto.. this is an easy pass for the 35th time. Not sure whose fan base is worse Habs or leafs right now

As a wings fan, the value is probably there, (within the ballpark), but I'm just not interested in trading him.

Can't see Montreal trading for Stastny unless he's a cap dump. If we are rebuildling, there is no point in paying assets to get a 33 Year Old center.

Thats good! but if the drama around domi that he is pist off when he is on wings, we have to put it at the center or trade him. But its not a decision that i would like to take today

you missed out on jake, so Bergevin may have a different opinion. He is a power play offensive defenseman, so it might interest him.

More or less. He is on a cheap prove it deal, so he might over perform. He really needs a change of scenery.

Laine to MTL doesnt work
This is CF culture unfortunately.
There is no such thing as a good trade for both teams. (Or at least very rarely). Rather than point out the things that make sense, its better to point out the errors and miscalculations because..... Im smart and your not. :rolleyes
People want steals and fleeces because that is what is sensational. Fair trades where both teams give up equal value and are modest with expectations are boring. Those are usually the posts that get no comments on it.
80% of commentors on CF are only here to comment on the illogical and unknowledgeable AGM's and 80% of AGM's are only posted to get a reaction out of the those other 80% commentors.

Gallagher
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>d4rk1ll4</b></div><div>Well, maybe you don't understand what represents Gallagher. The impact he would have on the Oilers roster would be enormous. With McDavid, he could score 40+ goals, and he is the type of player that you want on the ice to motivate his teammates to put efforts, what I think Edmonton lacks. Gallagher is a BOMB, and MTL won't trade him for anything. I know Klefbom is good, but Gallagher is something special. If Bergevin trades him, he's fired...</div></div>
Sure Gallagher would score a lot with McDavid- everyone does. But the question is: will he provide more positive impact on the team than losing Klefbom does negative impact? The Oilers were 20th is scoring last year but 26th in goals against, just 2 out of 28th place. I'd love to add Gallagher, but he'd be the 4th best forward, it doesn't make sense to give up our #1 defenseman on a team that already has a poor defense - and then adding a likely top-10 pick on top of that is incredibly stupid. Your proposal is very, very far from fair.

Gallagher
Gonna have to disagree with most here: Gallagher's intangibles (age, size, contract) make him worth less than Klefbom in my books - and in the leading private evaluator Evolving Hockey. So unless Mike Reilly has more upside than Puljujarvi there is no deal here.
<a href="/users/d4rk1ll4" target="_blank">@d4rk1ll4</a> you have some good commentary, but then your suggested deal is worse for the Oilers - you have them giving up a probable lottery ticket which is completely off base.

Buying Alzner out on 2020-21
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>A half retained Alzner is Hickey and he isn't moving either, theres just so few teams with any cap space.
To move him with retention will still cost assets unless he's swapped for another cap dump like the Neal/Lucic swap.</div></div>
Well, I think trading Alzner for a forward could make sense. I agree it's tough in the summer when everyone on every team is super-healthy, but injuries add up pretty quickly, for some teams, each year. Someone's going to end up with 14 forwards and three defensemen, and think that makes sense.

From what I understand the got burakovsky to elevate him upto the 2nd line because of his speed, to play on 2nd line or even top line if they get moved around

I think one of Landeskog or Rantanen should move down. Jost and Donskoi as your two 2nd line wingers is still pretty weak imo.
I would go with
Landeskog-MacKinnon-Compher
Jost-Kadri-Rantanen
