Wow trades are fun right .. but there is too much fun in yours and not enough logic. Matheson is not getting traded until Hutson is completely ready and that won't we next year. hopefully the one after that. We don't need players who make alot of nmoney and dont play a 200 foot game .. so bye to Zegras. We are not trading logan Mailloux unless it is in a big trade that nets us a star winger. So logan and another player and 2 first picks for a star like winger who plays defense is what hughes is going to do. Reinbacher and Hutson play in laval next year. Mailloux might make the canadiens next year. Barron will probably get traded. Savard will get traded at the deadline .

ZEGRAS TRADE AT 6TH OVERALL PICK
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>He's played center both games he's been back, his defense has been night and day different this year, and you seem to think 60 points are his ceiling rather than something he did IN HIS ROOKIE YEAR.
But please, continue to tell us how you don't know what you are talking about.</div></div>
Oh I will young man.. Look i get Zegras has an upside. And you want your team to get alot but some of his issues just aren't a good fit with montreal. We are getting our young players who could be influenced by zegras to play a 200 foot game. You need everyone to buy in and so far it doesnt seem like Anahiem has be able to get him to buy in. The other reason is you just dont value our assets the way we do so anahiem will shop him elsewhere. Honestly Montreal will package some defenseman and picks to get a star winger who does play a 200 foot game. That is what Hughes is going to do. Just because a guy is available you shouldnt necessary trade for him. Lokk at Pierre Luc Dubois as a perfect example. and his 200 foot game is questionable as well. He signed for big money and is not producing. Eight more years of that.

ZEGRAS TRADE AT 6TH OVERALL PICK
honestly we just draft 6 and you keep your 60 pt guy who doesnt play defense.....those 4 assets are worth more than a guy that Anahiem does feel is good enough to play defense or center so they are moving him to the wing.. II like Suzuki and dach and beck down the middle and as a winger i am fine with Slaf and Caufield and newhook and roy and who you get at number 6 this year...The trade for a star forward will cost more and involve more of our defense and picks if we do it. I would rather trade for Marner than Zegras as he is a star where the other is a wanna be.

The solution
nope that kid wont be here for two more years (Eiserman) and perry is slow and done.. there is no future in perry... we will get better as our bad contracts age out and that is why it will take time. anderson, Gally and price are the long term ones but price at least we can sign other players with his hit... Armia is finding his form again and dvorak also only has one year left.. you phase out these players and insert Roy and Beck in their top nine places. You play gally and anderson one more yeaR And then you buy out one of them so you have room to play a young player... maybe Eiserman. Meanwhile Reinbacher and Hutson have played there one year in Laval and you traded Savard at the deadline. Maybe you move matheson after the season depending on how well the defense develop.

PLD Redux
Now John i normally agree with your posts but this one you got all wrong... He is not worth 8.5 million and he is not great in the room and it would affect our culture with our young players who are better than him but he is going to get paid more than them. We dont need him. We need a young stud with potential to play wing and score goals.. Dvorak is a good defensive center and so is Evans and Beck and you have Dach and Roy in the top six and maybe newhook too... we totally dont need an overpriced player with questionable work habits and effort just because he is tall and is from quebec... I would rather trade for Zegras but he probably isnt smart either.. just draft a goal scorer in the draft and be patient with the rebuild.

your knowledge is small if you think monahan has little value.. Just his defensive game and faceoff% make him valuable.. not to mention he produces points. He is not a first line player anymore but he still has lots of value. Watch when the deadline passes you will be hiding your words.

sadly we have too many small guys already so size matters more to the habs now than to other teams. We have RHP, Gally, Caufield, Farrell, and Hutson and Mesar as well as Newhook. Just too many.

These guys are just silly naysayers.. The habs will get a first easily for Monahan if he keeps producing and stays healthy. And if he gets hurt then they won't. I think i prefer to keep him because a late first wont even be an nhler necessarily.... but I would definitely not trade him for a second rounder. Goalie trades are always tough to gauge so you will get nothing but grief on here for any allen trade. but at the deadline someone will bite on him and on Savard too. Savard could get a first like Chariot did if he keeps playing well but who knows where that first will come from.

you guys are so funny... montreal wouldnt do any of those trades.. Myers is a cap dump he is not going to get you a young player. That dallas trade is just dumb.. monahan alone will get a first rounder at the deadline...on almost a 20 goal pace play a 200 foot game and wins all his draws.. teams will be lining up for him at under 2 million cap hit. Question is only if he stays healthy. Even the gallagher trade forget it he stills plays effectively while Campbell cant play in the Nhl there is no comparison between those players.

playoffs next year
rEALLY GUYS MONTREAL IS NOT FAR FROM A PLAYOPFF TEAM BUT I A LITTLE farer to be a contender. they have to translate several young defenseman and some picks into an elite winger. Then you have caufield and suzuki and Dach and newhook plus the elite winger and add Roy to that and you got a top six. We just need that elite player like a Nylander and for slaf to contiue his development. Roy could go on the third line if slaf is ready for top minutes. And montembault is playing like an Nhl starter.. So you got the goalie as well. Next year Hutson might be ready but if not I still like matheson and Guhle and Struble and xhekaj and Harris and barron and savard. That will be solid and then you have Hutson and Reinbacher coming for 2025. Plus we have another top 10 pick coming this yeaR. And depth forwards montreal has a ton of them including Beck, Evans, Heinemann, Ylonen Rhp, etc... plus you still got Engstrom and Farrell to trade plus Harris. so we are not far. But we do need an elite winger whether as a free agent or in a mutli player trade.
And nashville will never do that trade lol. But Forsberg could be that elite winger but Nashville will not trade that goalie and we dont need him. We got Fowler coming just watch him at the world juniors

We are not taking campbell contract unless there are taking gallagher's lol we had enough bad contracts....and I would keep Matheson unless you are getting a 50 point defenseman value back in return.. he is a montrealer and loves it here and we like him too... playing his best hockey of his career... why trade him and his cap hit is fair too.

The savard and monahan trade is clearly not happening.. at his current pace monahan will have 15 goals in 50 gp and he has a 57% faceoff rate and plays a good 200 foot game. If he continues we will get a first for monahan and savard we will only traDE if the price is right because we need vets to bring along the kids... you cant keep losing all of the time and a late second rounder is just another B prospect of which we have tons. He has more value to us than what you are getting for him.

yeah habs fans need to stop doing Anderson trades because his value is so low with his slump.. Just give it a rest. And no, it is not equal to Campbell who is lousy when anderson is still an effective player just not top six. Anderson is not playing in laval.

yes the leafs will even though everyone knows they need a stud defenseman and drafting where they are drafting they wont get one. Only good news is Tavares contract is coming to a end and then they can spend that money more wisely... But look at this summer they spent on Klingberg and Reaves and domi and Bertuzzi and that has totally not worked.

Funnyhow folks minds works lol... but one thing for sure the habs dont need any more b prospects so if they cant pull off a major player like a nylander etc then they should just wait till the deadline and move Pearson, and monahan if the right deal comes and if not i would resign him. Trading monty for something we dont need is simply really trading for a trade sake... what is nice is that the players being called up like Struble now have looked good and Roy and hutson are developing nicely. we need like an eichel trade where we can give 4 prospects and a pick for the guy.
