Like I said in the other post, you are a moron to think a first and a couple 2nd/3rd round picks “destroys the franchise for 10 years”
We are not getting rid of the core if you want to or not. So yes, I hope they get EK so we can enjoy some entertaining hockey while we can.

How is he selling our entire future? A 1st and two 2nds. Do you hear yourself? Entire future of franchise, the next 10 years, is destroyed based off that?
We get rid of 2 terrible contracts for 4 seasons of EK at 7-8M. The dude that just got 101 points and the Norris trophy.
No, I think most people don’t expect EK to make this an instant Cup contender. It makes for an exciting team with the aging core.
You really sound about as ignorant a person I’ve read on here.

So the Pens should just intentionally suck? Yeah that is smart.

Very shocked by the Eller contract. As is, defense, top 6, G are better than last year.
The 4th line would be effective.
The 3rd line is an absolute disaster.

I think You trade or bury DeSmith. If buried, that would save 1.2M or so and absolutely has a plan to get rid of Granlund and Petry

I think GMJR should decide with the input of his coaching staff and support team. This is his job. The players job is to play, not help make personnel decisions.

Keeping the boys together 2017-18
I like it. Sheary may not get that much money AND term but its not completely unreasonable. The only reason he doesnt is if Scott Wilson breaks out again like he was doing this past year before his injury.
I think Bonino will be at least in the 4.5 mil range and same with Murray (comparing to FA to Leafs)
Looks good though. A lot depends on the development of these young players. If one of the young guys (Guentzel, Sprong, Wilson) break out and get top 6 minutes I will be extremely happy.

Rip to the HBK line
yes, completely agree with this lineup. The X-Factor will be Scott Wilson. Dude was really finding a groove when he got injured. I can easily envision replacing Chris Kunitz role in the lineup.
This also gives Pens plenty of cap space and picks (there is a 0% chance the Pittsburgh Penguins will enter the draft with all of their picks) to acquire whatever it is they may be lacking at the deadline.

Just playing with Rangers roster
Tanner Glass and Nick Spaling on the same line would be a complete disaster. Jannick Hansens speed would be completely neutered by these two pylons.

One last signing
oh and I would much rather have Rust on Genos line than Pirri. Pirri scores power play goals and thats it. He will not see any significant PP time here. Do not need a drifter.

Something tells me the HBK line will not be a thing for the whole year. Especially if Kunitz and whoever else they get for Malkin doesnt perform well.
For a playoff run when the HBK line is playing extremely well and you are coming back from a significant injury it is fine.
When you make 9.5 mil you will get some good forwards.
He may only get one... I wouldnt be shocked to see Kunitz up with Crosby, Hagelin up with Geno and Sheary on the 3rd line.

NJ Devils 16-17Roster As Is
This is a team that might surprise a lot of folks.
Negatives:
-Bottom 6 is very young and inexperienced. Not a lot of talent either.
-Defense as a whole is just not very good. Adequate, but will get exposed against teams with forward depth (Pitt, Wash, TBL, etc.)
Positives:
-That might be the most dangerous line in hockey. That line has it all.
-Style of play helps bottom 6
-top 5 goaltender and on any given night the best tender on the planet.
A lot to like about your team this year especially with all of the cap space and picks allowing you to bolster at the deadline if you are close.
This will be a very good team in 2 years.
