I realize plus minus is far from a perfect stat if I’m not referencing offensive/defensive zone starts but Ceci is playing over 20 minutes a night against top end competition and has 15 points while sporting a +14. For 3.25M. He’s on a good contract. Signed a guy who watches him every night

Tanev for a 1st... then if you want us to eat another year of Ceci's ****ty contract pay up., we're not eating 3.5m in salary for ****s and giggles</div></div>
Ceci is on a good contract. I feel confident going into playoffs with him if that’s the way it ends up but if we could get Tanev I think he’s the perfect upgrade. He’s pretty much the only Dman I’d want to move Ceci for that’s available right now

I’d consider 625K but we’d need 1.5 mill retained on Guentzel to make it work for us this year. Would give you the retention on Kane for 2 more years

We’ve gotta send money out to make it worth. I want to trade Kulak for a forward. I think Broberg can fill his spot.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SwarmChair</b></div><div>Overpay for a Toffoli rental.
And there’s no way Kulak goes with the playoffs looming. He’s a beast in the playoffs.
Something like a 2nd and 3rd for him would he okay. Devils traded Shargovic + 3rd for him just last year, and Yegor was a B prospect at the time. And the Devils got two years of Toffoli as opposed to the Oilers getting 3 months of Toffoli.</div></div>
He wasn’t a B level prospect at the time he had a 24 goal season in his sophomore year.. this is his 4th season. I think for where Toffoli’s production is at now, asking for the retention while NJ is competing for a playoff spot, you’re having to add a 1st for sure. Maybe not a fourth, maybe a 5th but this is a close trade. Kulak helps NJ a lot at a good price with term left.

There’s a 2nd going back for the 2nd 1st. Campbell is still a big stain even at 50% retained. It’s the only way it works for both sides unless you do no retention on Kuzmenko and only 1.2M on Campbell.

None better for a top 6 RW spot. He’s an upgrade on Brown offensively. Brown could take on the defensive assignments.

Garland would be at 4.25M for the next two seasons. Much younger and similar style of play as Perron. With cap going up he’d be a good bet for a replacement for Perron. I’d be willing to replace the 5th for Broberg.

I’ve gotta disagree. All three players coming back are better. Sturm is better for the right now than McLeod is. McLeod will likely be better down the road but for the now it’s Sturm in my opinion. Barabonov is a true top 6 winger. We’re not trading away one of those. And obviously Blackwood is an upgrade on Campbell.

How? You get a legit top 6 right wing. Sturm is grittier and more of a center than McLeod is. Only 28. Get Blackwood while getting out of Campbell deal without having a buyout on the books for 6 years.

These are both ridiculous, neither make sense for Edmonton. Why waste assets if you aren't making the team better?</div></div>
Brett Pesce makes the team way better. He’d be almost an Ekholm level addition. Hence why I paid a bit less with only one year left on the deal and Ekholm had 3 and is a bit better. Evans is a big upgrade on Pedersen and you’d be getting him for two seasons with retention which raises the acquisition cost a lot

Yes he was better I agree. But Duclair was coming back very late from an Achilles tear. Had to gain his confidence back. I think he’ll be back to form this year. The year before last year he was a very solid top 6 player. He would be competing with Brown for the top 6 spot. Broberg I just don’t see as ever being more than a bottom pairing guy so might as well trade him for a very established better right now player on a cheap 3 year deal and keeping Desharnais as the 7th dman.
