Current Potential Lines with injuries
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dennisb</b></div><div>Rodrigues-Blueger-Tanev is a scary 4th line. They can check and they can score.
I think they will try to play Marleau with Malkin first. Simon is useful only with Crosby. No room for him now I think.
And Marleau can improve situation with the face-offs. They are both skillfull players who can take advantage of the skillet and style of play I hope :halo</div></div>
You are right about Simon, I think Simon and Sheary will battle it out for the spot next to Sid. ZAR is great defensively and should remain part of the blueger line i think unless that line with rodrigues shows something spectacular. I was thinking about Marleau on the second line but lets see. i think both Rodrigues and marleau both could fit on either or as role players.

as for the rest of those trades DG everyone of them is BLAH ... dillon for rust pens should get the pick not SJ .. gmJR is not gonna trade gubranson ... honka for ZAR straight up i can see that happening .. dallas is still looking for a young bottom 6 who can slide up and down like ZAR and honka seems to be the odd man out with johns coming back ... hudon i doubt he can be gotten that cheap montreal seems to over value this prospect and acts like he already a multi-season 30+ goal scorer ..

as a pens fan who lives in LA i get to go to about 8-10 kings games a year ... as to the points made above ... the kings current management was not around when JJ was there .. ur 11m a year dman liked playing with jj. king need a low cost vet say what u will but jj contract is not bad based on some of the contacts being given out.. jj is something the kings can use during the retool ... quick has been subject of tons of trade speculation .. columbus has been in heavy talks with la about quick .. if goalies for columbus fall apart i can see that trade happening .. then la needs someone ready for nhl and that is most definately JARRY.. make tons of sense ...especially for that price a 6th rnd pk and u get back 2 needs... besides king WILL be having a firesale at the TDL carter kovy brown martinez trofolli lewis .. they are just hoping for decent start to the season so those players have higher value ...kings will be doing a major retool over the next 3 yrs ALA the rangers ....

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>kingsfaninSD</b></div><div>Kings say no thanks and hang up the phone laughing</div></div>
Kings don't want to pay a ton for LD this year. They are like 8.5 mil under the cap.
Here is your list of UFA LD <a href="https://www.capfriendly.com/browse/free-agents/2020/games-played/all/defense/ufa/desc/1/left">https://www.capfriendly.com/browse/free-agents/2020/games-played/all/defense/ufa/desc/1/left</a>
You are basically looking at Hutton, Morrow and Gardiner.
Gardiner has back issues. Which is why no one signed him. It's not worth a 6 million + dollar risk, and LAK don't want to spend 6 million.
Morrow, sucks.
Hutton looked awful last year.
LAK need a LD. Who is low cost. and capable of playing at the NHL level.
The pickings are slim and there are multiple teams in the same spot.
They also need a backup goalie. Campbell is probably signing else where for more money after last year.
So yeah, LAK could be a possibility. I doubt they trade for him, but it's not because of the value here. It's because he's been there done that before. He played there for 5 years before.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dennisb</b></div><div>What's the point of signing Tanev? I do not know. Tanev is often injured, so I shaped that way. He would come handy in playoffs. Dumoulin-Letang, Brodie-Tanev, Petersson-Rental D. They just need that defensive defender. I do not know a better fit being available.
As for swapping young guys... it's just a matter of taste and time only will tell. I see at as it stans now by their readiness. It could be anything the next season as well. But it could be Poulin-Malkin-Legare if they are developed the right way.
I don't know about Pavs, I would place Angello much higher on the depth chart. Blueger could be a nice 3C option with Hallander on the wing (he played a wing on a top line last season). Bjorkqvist-Blueger-Hallander could be great young energetic line, agreed.</div></div>
I agree with most of that, just that Pavlychev put up similar stats to Bjorkqvist, and well he's 6'7'' what most takes are of him is that he'll be NHL ready out of college, but pretty much has 4C upside which I completely agree with from what I've seen of him

While not speaking on the value of the trade overall, I do like bringing in Klefbom. However, what I like more is getting Puljujarvi and then not signing him. I suppose his inclusion by Edmonton is addition through subtraction while saving face on their Yakupov v2.0.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>biglite351</b></div><div>I don't care what a player did in the KHL, or AHL, or any other league. It only matters what they do in the NHL. At that, Kulemin had 1 good year. There are over 600 players that take regular shifts in the NHL each year. In that, they are all successful. However, I do not want all of those guys on the team, especially for $1.5M.
When you consider cap hit to what a guy brings to the team, Hagelin is head and shoulders the worst contract on the Penguins.</div></div>
If there was a down rating for comments. I would down rate the heck out of this one. Hagelin is a great two way player with tremendous speed and hockey sense. Why don't you actually watch him play.

I see ur point on Domi but ive offered Sprong/Sheary /1st and ppl say its too much? If u dig into the #'s Sheary has better stats and analytics the last 2 years than Domi. Its a tough call to say what Domi is "worth" ..... because along with the numbers, u still must consider the Diabeties issue too.
The Green signing is simply a wish, maybe he comes to win a cup because with him as our 3rd pair dman would be scary.

Trade w/ MTL (for those who want to get rid of Letang)
The amount of people on here who think a 50 point defenceman (in a down year) who plays all situations is a worthless liability boggles my mind. Has the guy had some injuries? Yes. Have about a third of all guys in the league had some injuries? Also yes. But not a third of the guys have been Norris finalists or a #1 D on a Cup winner.

a third maybe, depends who you ask. Some Sabres fans think 2 2nds, some have said a 4th or 5th. I think he has potential to be a decent bottom 4 D man. Sabres gave up a 3rd for Beaulieu and they're about the same player

Kane to Pittsburgh, Trade with Islanders
Buffalo is not interested in a 3rd or 4 th line prospect and that's what Simon is. Not really interested in Cole either, that said I would counter and say Kane @50% retained our 2nd round pick and z.girgensons for Pittsburghs 1st non lottery protected 2018 pick. Conor Sheary, and ion Cole plus a 3rd in 2019 if Kane resigns before or in free agency.

Sheary is better than your average 1st liner and rust is like a 2nd liner as far as putting quality stats, the kicker is they do it with less ice time....;

Idealistic
I'm largely in agreement with Blacklion821 and I would be concerned about Kane becoming a locker room cancer. Bonino is twice the shot blocker of Hanzel and Boyle combined, so he would be a huge loss in that department, but both of them are better faceoff guys than both Bonino and Cullen so that would be a nice upgrade. I agree that Bonino will probably get way too much money, so Hanzel would be a nice replacement, though he may get more than the $4M you are giving him here.
All in all, this is well done and obviously well thought out. Good job!
