(COL/MIN) - Cole for Pateryn
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JayTea</b></div><div>Then I guess we haven't seen that in years because he's been nothing but a 6th D on Minnesota who quickly gets exposed when forced to play up in their lineup. Cole isn't much better, but he is definitely better.

Maybe not look at stats where both players had outlier seasons. Pateryn had a bad injury riddled season, while Cole just had a career best season. I know its a 3 year scale, but ignoring this year will help show how good they really are.
Look at his 16-19 stats, Pateryn was an elite defensive defenseman

You gotta add at least a 1st round pick in that trade along with Monahan. Maybe a guy like Bennett as well

What if Point and Keller switched situations
Keller would get demoted to the 2nd line. The Lightning would struggle mightily without their superstar centre. Stamkos is good, but hes noo longer an effective centre. Wing is where he fits. I love Cirelli, but I dont think he can replace Point at all. Neither can Keller
Arizona would get an immediate scoring boost and spark of energy who is extremely dynamic offensively. While Tampa gets a meh 2nd line winger

Aside from Coots and maybe Bratt, this team has no defense. Josi-Carlson is an unreal offensive pair that will dominate every shift, but will struggle defensively
Goaltending should be alright as long as Bishop is healthy
Should be a 1st round exit. Lacks top end forwards/wingers. No elite forward aside from Couturier

I could also make a fair argument for almost every player you put below Gallagher on how they are better.</div></div>
Muzzin was a beast in transition last year and at moving the puck, you dont need to be worried about him.
What arguments do you have against Gallagher aside from points?

Jones is absolutely a terrific player. He certainly isn't as valuable as many on here think but he is definitely a #1 defenceman.</div></div>
I never said he sucks. I said he is an average defenseman who gets overrated by most fans and TV people

Muzzin's game has basically no holes. He carried the Leafs blueline this year. Gets overshadowed because he plays on a team with all these other big name guys
Gallagher is similar to Muzzin in the case that hes good at basically everything 5v5. Yeah he isnt good on the PP but I think thats probably a system thing. He doesnt get a ton of points, but his underlying analytics are great

Probably top 15. Hes close to Heiskanen. He still has the potential to be a future Norris winner, I just dont know if he will win anything in Buffalo

Guentzel when healthy was a top 10 winger. Ovechkin has given up everything to chase the goals record and it shows, he still leads in goals, but is bad at basically everything aside from shooting

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>A_K</b></div><div>I like this list for the most part. Not sure if Benn should be that high at this point and I'd have Miro up a few ranks. I'd probably have 3 or 4 guys ahead of Rielly at LHD but I tend to like the more well-rounded guys. And I think I have Matthews and EP flipped and I'd push Geno above Eichel but the rest of the centers look like a fair opinion. Nice job.</div></div>
I probably wouldve had Benn near the bottom of the list before the playoffs, but I think he showed that he can still bring it during the run. Rielly had an injury riddled season. If you just want to base it off of this year, hes probably not top 10. But when healthy I think Rielly can be that good
I can definitely see Geno over Eichel, but I would get absolutely slaughtered for that take lol
