yeah i could see that for 2020. this lineup is for this year. not what i think will happen but what i want to happen.

Glendening, and Abdelkader. Both just got Alternate Captain. Not gonna happen, Kaski makes the line up? seriously?</div></div>
yeah thats why i said my preferred line up. Id rather have seider over kaski but for the sake of getting him mins it might be better for him to start in GR.

im doubtful as well. but the fact that he hasnt signed yet and has made it clear he wants to play in detroit gives me a little optimism.

Barrie available
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>If the Wings wouldn't trade AA for Trouba do you really think they trade him for Barrie?
I'm sorry but without AA Larkin doesn't score 32 goals. AA is more important to the Wings than Mantha and if Mantha did score 15 points in the last 10 games he would probably be on a different team by now. Plus Larkin and Bertuzzi played a big part in those 15 points in 10 games.</div></div>
they also werent getting the 4th OA pick from winnipeg. We are gonna lose AA in two years to FA. MIght as well get something for him. Not to mention his skillset probably wont age well. Id rather get something while his value is at its highest.

Wings Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>villenash</b></div><div>I don't disagree - our prospect pool is sad right now. I think the preds will lose 1-3 of the following players this summer: Smith - Turris - Bonino - Watson - Subban - Ellis - Josi. I think we would be able to move some cap, but it won't be easy.</div></div>
Yeah I think Bonino and smith will be hard the sell due to contract and production without giving up another asset. Ellis has too good of a contract imo. Watson might be hard due to him being a ****ty human. I think y’alls best bet is josi. He will get the biggest return and I don’t think there would be a huge drop off between a josi-Ellis-ekholm-fabbro top four and a pk-ellis-ekholm-fabbro top 4.

And for Turris - ok. I'm fine keeping him because, yes he had a bad year because of injury, I know he is better than a 3rd.</div></div>
That’s fair. This is with the assumption y’all were trying to sign duchene and needed to dump salary. I Don’t see anyone else on the preds that teams would be willing to take cap dumps on without y’all giving up prospects and picks in an already low prospect pool.

Wings Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>villenash</b></div><div>I am not a Dekeyser fan. I consider him overpaid for what he brings to the table - and he would be an expensive D to put on the third pair.
If the Preds trade Subban, it will be for a better return. And I don't think they'll need to package him with anyone to get the return they want. I'm more than happy to keep both of these players. Turris looked great at the world championship and Subban is still Subban. I see the deal you proposed as overvaluing Dekeyser while undervaluing Subban and Turris. Honestly, remove Subban from the deal and that is more of a fair offer I think.</div></div>
I think subban the hockey is great but he also comes with a 9 million cap hit. His value is no where near what it was 3 years ago or whenever y’all got him. Turris looked great at the world championship but you are nuts if you think a guy with 23 pts and a 6 mil cap hit is getting more than a 3rd round pick.

whats your concern with it? Nashville gets 10+ million in cap relief, a 2nd round pick, and a 2nd pairing defenseman to play on the 3rd line. feel like thats a win for nashville.

Yeah possibly. I like trouba but i see no reason to give up anything more than a mid round pick or mid level prospect. We dont need him next year and even if he goes somewhere else the following year its not like he is a 1D and we have plenty of 2-6 dmen in the system.

Trouba
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMarch</b></div><div>People keep trying to trade Trouba to DET because he said he would like to play for his hometown team, back when he was 20. Unlike Miller (who is from Lansing, not Detroit, where there are as many Hawks fans as Wings fans), Trouba is actually from the Detroit Metro area (Rochester Hills), and expressed interest in doing so, albeit 5 years ago.</div></div>
FWIW, i get why people want to trade for trouba. he is a decent top 4 D man and he has made it clear in the past he wants to be in detroit. My issue is trading for him as an RFA. He is one year away from being UFA and we arent competing for a cup next year. So why trade assets for someone we can get for free in a year?
I agree he and hronek are similar but thats not a bad thing to have two hroneks.

Both 16-17 and 18-19 were missed due to breaking his hand fighting. So outside of breaking his leg he has missed 2 games. Thats not injury prone.

personally im against signing myers. we dont need to waste money on a 2-4D when hronek, green/troube, and cholowski can fill those roles. Karlsson or bust.
also while i like byram he is a not a guaranteed 1D. i think 2C is a bigger need. Draft dach, cozens, krebs, zegras instead.
if its me i throw the bank at karlsson and after next year you run with:
Bert-Larkin-Mantha
AA-2019 2nd line C- Zadina
Hirose-Veleno-Ras
Svech-Glenny-Nielsen
Cholo-EK
McIsaac-Hronek
DK-Trouba

Yeah. assuming this team can consistently get out of the 1st round you are looking pick 24-32. The only notable players between those picks in the last 6 drafts are Theodore, Pastrnak, Konecny, I take the sure thing vs a less than 6% chance each year of getting a good to elite player.

Youre right. Missed doughty since it doesnt go into effect until next year. Disagree on Stone costing that much. Voracek is a comparable contract.

Highest paid D is PK at 9 AAV. While Karlsson is better i doubt gets 3+ more AAV than the highest paid D. Stone will likely cost 8-9 AAV.
