NYR Roster projection 22-23
I think Kreider gets more ice time than Lafreniere this upcoming season
I agree with the sentiment that he gets pushed down the depth chart when Laffy starts to find his groove

I have to say I am not impressed with crowd sourced popularity
granted going through all those teams is a chore... but still

NYR1
Chytil is an offense first player, so putting him on a checking line seems like a waste of his talent. Especially if the choice is Strome over him.
If the plan is to showcase Strome for a trade I can see the logic in putting him a 2C however
and OOF no Boyle please. Why block a kid with an old man ?

NYR now with a 2C maybe
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Icegirl</b></div><div>Take out Senyshyn and Day and maybe it's a little more even? The idea was to buy low on Senyshyn in case BOS would start to see him as a throw-in.
What pick would Strome fetch, would you say?</div></div>
I think that considering Strome was traded for Spooner I'd say his pick value is not very high.
The value in Strome is if the other team views him as a center they want to "build' around in a 3rd or perhaps 2nd line center spot. Since he is a RFA he does have value.
The issue as I see it is his cap hit as the number of teams that can take on the salary AND can use Strome are limited.
Perhaps package him as part of a pick swap as NY has 3 7th rounders.

The roster by Christmas 2019
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jimbo1119</b></div><div>ADA will most likely sign a 2 year deal- prob 2.5-2.75 M range per...Lemieux deal will depend on timing- if signed before season will prob be for 1 yr near QO...if he holds out until cap is avail (trade made)- then maybe a 2 yr for 1.2-1.4M per.
doubt Names gets back a 2nd- a 3rd or 4th is most likely given his cap hit and the fact he is a rental
I would rather have Smith as 7D for a slightly higher cap than Lindgren...would rather Lindgren get minutes in HFD than sit here.</div></div>
I agree with the sentiment, but Smith is going to bring a load of cap hit.
I like Brendan as a grinder and dman on the PK.
The question is if his presence hinders any cap wiggle room

Maybe they make a move or two

oofa, Brian Boyle ? no thanks
Moving Howden in order to part with Smith is also a deal I wouldn't make
Suomela has upside, not sure San Jose makes the deal but I've seen much worse (like signing Boyle)
Thanks for posting

Shattenkirk Gone PHI VAN Deals
Chytil is an offense first player and deserves a shot at #2 center.
Putting him on a checking line is self defeating
I don't think bringing in Brassard solves anything other than block a kid from more ice time
Thanks for posting regardless

Dream scenario
It a shame to put Namestnikov on the 4th line. It lowers his apparent value.
I think it best to put Lemieux there and Vlad on the 3rd line.
But its a minor quibble

finding cap space
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>slater417</b></div><div>Where's deangelos contract? Where does he play.
Also kratsov is a skill guy not a checking line guy.
Also Ottawa doesn't take on contracts and give up draft picks. You want them to eat cap they need a prospect.</div></div>
I didn't want to forecast what Lemieux or DeAngelo's contract would be
Kravtsov is a skill guy. He also has no NHL experience. Does he have any experience on the smaller ice ?
No ?
3rd line is perfect for him to earn his stripes
Letter can go down when Lemieux signs. So it will depend on the contract he signs. Same with DeAngelo and Lindgren

Kreider Name Smith
Hopefully NY can get more than a 4th for Namestnikov, especially if they retain salary, but moving him is a priority to make space for everyone else.
I would switch DeAngelo who has NHL experience with Fox who has none on the depth chart and Staal is a 3rd pairing guy as well.
