Boychuks retirement team is looking good now
Definitely would move Komarov if it only cost us a 2nd. Hickey we can bury in the minors than buy out the last year of his contract after next season.
With those signings, we could have 15 mil in space with Boychuk on LTIR incase we can't get Ladd on it as well.
Barzal 7.5x3
Greene 1.25x1
Martin 1.25x2
Duclair 3x1
Schneider .7x1
I think following season we probably let Zeeker walk, find a way to move Clutterbuck as well to resign Pelech/Beauvilier/Sorokin.

Moving hickey and komarov
Don't know Carcone but looks right. Toews will be the price for losing Hickey & Komarov contracts.
I think you bury Ladd in the minors, receive another 1 million off the books. Give that to Martin, don't sign AA, give that money to Barzal,
and roll with 1 of Bellows, Dalcolle, Wahlstrom in the lineup.

May i offer you a Leo Komarov for a 2nd? I hear he's good in the room.

Best Case Scenario
Barzal could do this for 6 and goto UFA at 29 and get a huge contract. He's not on the level of Eichel or someone who is making 10+ mil or more. If he was putting up 85+ pts a season then I'd say yes throw the bag at him. but 8.5-9.5 seems right.

Lol Okay
I'd hope they'd maybe take Bellows and we could hold out on Holmstrom but this is probably what it takes to move Boychuk at this point.

Isles 20-21
We'd be trading for Roslovic's RFA rights so that seemed like our typical kind of bridge contract for a player like him.
Trading off any of Komarov, Hickey, Boychuk, Ladd & Clutterbuck is going to cost some us more assets. Do we keep giving away our 1st and 2nd round picks?
I'd rather move guys who still have some value but are replaceable IMO. We could lose Bailey or Mayfield to expansion anyway. Maybe we retain some salary
and move some mid-late round picks but I don't think that's going to do it. Other than Wilde. Bolduc, and Wahlstrom, I don't see our prospects having too
much trade value.

Making It Work Next Season
I think Greene is resigned for a year for 1-1.5 mil and plays with Dobson as 3rd pair. I think Leo goes and we maybe send a 3rd or Aho/Vande Sompel to make it happen. I can see Martin getting another year at 800k-1 Mil.

Damn. Gives us a 2 year window instead of building for a sustainable future. Hard to see keeping both of them after next season.

That's right on for Pulock but I think he takes max term. I think Toews get's around 5. Maybe for 4 years.

Offseason
honestly i think he'll invest himself and do what matthews did and set himself up to cash in a massive contract at a prime age 26-27 like something around 8x13m. maybe doing 4 yrs x 8m as isles won't let him go to free agency at the end of his RFA period.

Trades to make in the next year
Barzal is probably doing 3yrs from 8-9 Mil. He's already stated how he thinks younger players should be getting paid big so don't be surprised to see a bit of time to get his contract done. He could do 4 but whatever happens can't sign him to a 5 yr deal.

Pulock gets 7 or 8 years I think. He'll be 26 when this contract starts.

Would Lou make this trade with Toronto
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles777</b></div><div>Pulock is a 25 year old top pairing Dman who puts up 40 pts in a defensive minded system (only 42% o zone starts). Pulock will become expendable when bode Wilde develops and they can have Noah Dobson and Wilde as the top 4 RHD. That won’t happen for another 2 years. It doesn’t make sense for the islanders to trade pulock right now unless it was a huge overpayment</div></div>
don't count your chickens before they hatch. i think wilde is better suited in a package deal for a top 6 scorer with a pick right now. or you give him a year or 2 of development than move him out.

how many other teams have prospects with high ceilings? if he turns out to be a good top 4 d man it's not for atleast 2-3 seasons.

Nah. I'd do Wilde for Virtanen. Maybe balance it out with some picks.
