If TOR and BOS swapped fanbases

As in this is such a lopsided trade with Philly getting the short end of the stick and Boston walking away heroes that this is comical. The poster was saying that he's seen **** like this happen before though, so who knows. In all actuality though this isn't going to happen unless someone puts a gun to Hextall's head.

I was OK when Bergy, Rask, McAvoy went down, but if we lost Marchand that would be the final straw for me... granted we have Rask back now, but that would be just too many key components missing all at the same time... Yeah I probably went a little off the deep end, but when I heard this I freaked a little (a lot)...

Boston is actually really good
Miller and McQuaid started tonight... Carlo was the scratch... that said we're down 3-1 at the end of the 2nd to the bottom feeding Buffalo Sabers and they don't even have Eichel, so I don't know how "good" we are going to be... If we drop this one it will be 2 in a row... I'll save my reservation on calling this new team "good" until we put in a 10 game stretch; I'm skeptical...

Nash-Krejci-Heinen 2nd line...i like it. Nash’s18 goals is 6 more than anyone not on our 1st line. Not useless.
Deadline deals are always an overpay for the buyer. The team is better now for a playoff run and in better shape cap wise the next few years. And they only gave up 1 significant prospect in the system. I’d say they did allright.</div></div>
like I just posted in the other thread... I'm just a pessimist...

Only thing i don’t like is retaining on Beleskey for 2 more years. 4m tied up in Beleskey, Seidenberg, and Hayes next year sucks.</div></div>
Maybe I'm just blowing this out of proportion because I'm pissed off right now... I'm kind of a pessimist by nature, and I don't like this... I'll give it 10 games and see if our hot streak doesn't continue, but we've already dropped 1 to TOR; the big change is Holden is in the locker room (whether he dressed or not). I'll be curious to see what happens over the next few games. I wonder what the lines will look like??? Either DeBrusk or Nash will be playing RW on line 2 probably Rick Nash.

I would much rather have kept Spooner and dealt him in the off season than dealing him for Nash at the TDL... Line 2 chemistry will go to hell in a hand basket. Nash is about useless. I don't know which trade is a bigger loss Holden or Nash... I guess we'll see what happens come playoff time, but my prediction is we start to slow off pace.

I suppose you would be happy, Boston lost this one... Holden was good in his first 2 seasons, he hasn't shown any promise after that. Nash has been on the steady decline since 2009 he has almost diminished into the category of irrelevant, and we just paid a small fortune for him; he's a rental, he's 33, and he's in a scoring slump right now... I think I'm going to be ill...

I'm a little bit upset about these 2 moves... Holden and Nash are both slugs. We had a winning team and Sweeney just went and jacked that all up. There's no telling what this is going to do to the chemistry of the locker room.

Sell off
during an interview with NBC Boston on Thursday.
“I think it’s been factored into conversations between me and [Bruins general manager] Donnie [Sweeney] that we have a group with some real togetherness there this season,” Cassidy said openly. “At the end of the day if you can add and make your team better then you always have to look at it, and Donny is looking at that right now.
“Adding Holden I think he’s done that and we’ve added some more depth. But after that I do worry about if we subtract somebody from the room. If you’re adding and you’re not subtracting, i.e. future assets, then as a coach you always prefer to go that way. But Donnie will do what’s best and as a coaching staff we’ll take it from there so to speak. But there is a good chemistry with that group…a very good chemistry in that locker room.”
I'm just going to keep posting this interview to every mock-up that has anyone tearing down Boston's defense before the playoffs... It isn't happening...

You see the thing is Boston wants to win the Cup this year... Please tell me how doing this gets them closer to the Cup??? It opens up 3 holes and only plugs 2 and gives up their 1st round draft pick to boot. You guys really need to use your heads when you make these mock-ups.

They could retain half his salary i’d dtill say no. I’d rather have Beleskey for 2 more years than Looch for 5. The top 5 pick isn’t that much of incentive to me. Unlikey to land Dahlin who is the only sure thing star there. Love Tkachuk. Keep in mind though, just a few years ago Sam Bennett, Sam Reinhardt, Michael Dal Colle were top 5 picks. B’s took Pastarnak 25th that year. It’s a gamble not worth taking.</div></div>
It would be 4.6 with the retained salary, but I hear what you are saying... Like I said it was just an idea that got stuck in my head... sometimes the only way to get stuff like that out of my head is to put it out there and get some feedback; I didn't think it would be well received, but I couldn't get the idea out of my head. You are right, we have been doing pretty well with drafting in spite our low draft position and we would risk a draft bust just like any position in the draft, so there is still that risk. It just seemed tempting to want to take a top 5 pick this season with so many good players available, but I totally understand where you're coming from and why this wouldn't be a good idea. You'll have to excuse my momentary laps of judgement (I have them from time to time lol... I'm sure this won't be the last time)

I'll try to find the article for you to read... I'm not saying it's true (or not true) I'm just saying some sports writer put it out there, and it had to come from somewhere (hence rumor) whether there is any truth to it or not... I don't know...

See the thing is, Boston isn't willing to pay that... DeBrusk and Grizz are more valuable to us (as we've been winning with them) than McDonagh who we've been doing fine without (as a matter of fact we're the hottest team in the league right now), so even though McDonagh is worth that, he isn't worth that to Boston... make sense? This is why NYR and BOS aren't suitable partners for a McDonagh trade...

Now you want Grzelcyk too? These trade offers keep getting pricier and pricier; I don't think you understand how negotiating works. See if the 1st offer was too much for Boston to stomach you either try to find a different trade partner, or come back with a lower bid, or stand your ground and wait for Sweeney to make a move 1st...
