Habs should at least consider trading Guhle
I would think if the Wild were trading for an established d-man, it'd be to push a playoff run, so I doubt they would consider sending out Boldy in said trade.

The actual script for next year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stadel</b></div><div>My mildly hot take is if we assume coaching held them back, then this lineup under ruff should remain competitive for longer than 10 mins/early november so that by the time rumours and player movement start up in Dec/Jan, the Sabres will come off some no trade lists and thats when we will see the bigger move.</div></div>
Another reasonable take.
I actually am looking forward to the season. Can't wait to see how they screw it up this time

Well I’ll have you know that Roy’s 7th cousin’s dog’s aunt was adopted by a family in Michigan, so Roy is pretty much confirmed to sign with the Red Wings

Alex Semin was a lot worse for the Canes imo, especially considering the buyout that came with it.

MTL? tight cap constraints? they've got money and barring stupid spending this summer will still have some for a while

Ullmark waives for security
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tryger</b></div><div>This trade gets Blake fired, I'd help him pack his bags.</div></div>
Keeping PLD and doing nothing stands a better chance of getting him fired than acquiring a goalie who likely would provide a significant improvement in that system to what you have. It’s a stronger argument than 8.5m to a 3rd line center with a polarizing personality.
It also frees up cap space to keep Roy or Arvidssen. Both if you sign Byfield to a bridge deal.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>drambui</b></div><div>so he choose to get traded to avoid being traded?I dont get it.</div></div>
Getting traded in season while being an expiring is different than choosing your location, moving your family, and getting security, Not sure how that isn’t obvious.
He’d likely be living away from his family if traded during the season and have to do the move next year. It’s less change for his kids and less separation. Its why his current no trade clause isn’t as relevant because if a team is willing to extend him, its a significant parameter that could change his mind,
He doesn’t even consider it without an extension with no trade protections (which the Kings seem willing to give).

You need 4 top 4 Ds. No hate to Siegenthaler, but Guhle would be an upgrade and an even bigger one long-term
But honestly, I don't think NJ or MTL does this, since we're keeping our own guys

Depends on fit and performance but maybe a sniper role with Nico or Hughes. Maybe a 3rd line role with vets like Haula and Palat.

I think MTL will have better prospects available at 5 so they’d probably pass. Plus I’m still very excited about the prospect of Thomas feeding snuggerud for a decade. I think he’s setting up for a massive season for the gophers after acknowledging he wasn’t good enough last season
