The Avs misfortunes create the perfect situation for Nik to get good ice. Nuke is out for ??? Gabe might come back after the regular season. While 2C might be a stretch, as of today the Avs still don't have a 2C, so you Never Say Never Again.

I could realistically see a regular season game where injuries dictate Bednar experiments with Kovalenko at 2C.

Overall IMO, everything points to Kovalenko being an immediate contributor in COL &amp; I expect he'll quickly move up the lineup like Lehkonen did two seasons ago (pushing impending UFA Burakovsky to the 3rd line come playoffs).</div></div>

Yeah, no argument on any of this. But he's definitely smaller than his dad. Probably at least 20-25 pounds. Papa was a stocky beast. Junior is more of a playmaker type.

What’s the #1 issue with RyJo he can’t keep up right? Granlund was toast in PIT last year, this year he’s having a rebound year sure but he is playing 20 minutes a game on the top line to do it and check out his skating stats, he is below 50th percentile in top speed and speed bursts, he spends an abundance of time in the dzone (like 46% of his TOI) not something you’d like to see in a top line guy, he gets crushed in even strength and his xGD is -12.6. I mean if you are talking about moving real assets for him he is more the same as RyJo imo, I mean at least in the proposed trade they are having a smaller cap hit.
