Washington Capitals signed Christian Djoos (1 Year / $1,250,000 AAV)
Frustrating that this couldn't be $925K, now somebody other than Stephenson is getting moved out. Djoos is good and still has upside, but coming off 45 games and 10 points with some AHL action this is a tad bit high.

Washington Capitals signed Jakub Vrána (2 Years / $3,350,000 AAV)
Such a good contract. New U.S. TV deal will be done by then (hopefully) and the cap looks like it'll go up a decent amount. If Ovechkin takes less money in 2021, the Caps are getting a big fish that offseason. Dynasty. Put GMBM's cell phone number in the rafters of Capital One Arena.

Finalized roster
Don't hate the acquisition of Gusev, I just think you might have overpaid for his services. He's unproven in the NHL and an RFA on a team with almost no leverage in this situation. I don't think a first rounder will go VGK's way for them to trade his rights.

Marner with no tradesbuyouts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>nchest</b></div><div>I agree with the 3 year contract, but he isn't getting over $9.5m on that term</div></div>
I think if $9.5M/3 was an option, Marner would be signed right now. Dubas probably dreams about that deal, as it would have Dermott, Hyman, Marner/Reilly, Johnsson, and Matthew/Nylander all coming up in different offseasons. If $9.5M/3 is an offer that Marner would accept but Dubas isn't willing to make, then if I'm Colorado, Montreal, Columbus, or NJD I'm making that offer sheet.

Does this trade make sense Kings
No shot. The goalie swap is a non-starter. Both Quick and Hutton are 33 years old, and even though Quick is coming off a career-worst year (.888 S%), Hutton's .908 S% isn't much to look at. When looking at the two from a value perspective, Hutton is the cheaper option but Quick is more poised for a bounce back season and the Kings aren't super cap-strapped. Of course, however, they would be by adding the gremlin of a contract Okposo has. I don't see any teams touching that any time soon. And finally, while Toffoli had a rough season (13-21-34), he had the same point total in 2016-17 and bounced back to score 24 goals and 47 points two seasons ago. Nylander is an interesting prospect but I imagine GMs will want to see more than 19 NHL games before moving a proven 20-goal scorer still under 30 for someone like him.

Revised 4th Line and Giving Burky a Chance
That fourth line is absolutely horrifying. If we're in a position where Gerisch is on the roster then our depth is screwed.

Keep Burakovsky
I think there's more to be seen from Djoos, so they shouldn't let him walk, but he will cost at least $1M AAV. Would also be very surprised to see Walker back, likely wants to better opportunity on a less deep team (like Riley Barber). Also, the RFA rights to sign Jaskin aren't worth a 7th round pick, let alone a 5th.

Possible but Unlikely 2
That Nylander trade is simply not happening for that return. He's starting to show flashes of being a high-end winger, and will have a full season of opportunities (including PP) to come into his own with BUF in 2019-20. That 6th and 4th would have to become a 2nd and 3rd for BUF to even consider that move.

2 Cups in 3 Years
Even if you reduce the Vrana and Djoos AAV's by $1M each, you're still only looking at just over $2M in cap space if WSH picks up a UFA around Acciari's AAV. I just don't see a scenario in which the Caps are bringing Burky back. Teams with lots of room like COL (who were interested around the deadline) and ARI would be willing to eat something closer to his qualifying RFA offer for what upside he still has, when GMBM is probably thinking more in the $2M-$2.5M range for him.

Ken Holland does not have an easy job
I don't think $3.5M x1 is a realistic extension for Murray, coming off a career high in points (29) and +/- despite only 56 GP. He seems like a multi-year $4M+ type of signing.
