cup contender
Scheifele 25 yrs old, 6'3'', solid centerman signed and lock until 24-25 at 6,125$m
Karlsson 27 years old 6'0'' , solid dman signed until 18-19 at 6.5$m
One for one, if I was Winnipeg, It's a no go. Winnipeg is a small market ($) and they need player like Scheifele and his contract. Same for Ottawa and the 30 others team, I am sure everyone would like him. I think Scheifele would be very difficult to get from Winnipeg

''Trying'' to don't over evaluted MTL players and asset
San Jose group is aging and they just sign Kane at 7$M, they will offer less than 8$M for his services next years, with a good 2 years offer, there is a chance that he may consider it at least :)

I though transfer between IIHF member league (LIIGA) to NHL was possible under conditions. Acquiring a prospect center like Kotkaniemi, will be healthy for MTL pipeline for the future.

Possible trades
Vancouver is on the rebuild, giving away draft pick and Juolevi will be going backward for them, even if Gallagher is from BC and a good RW with small salary. IMO Vancouver should keep building the foundation with the young talent that they have, they won't win next year anyway.
Like to see RNH with MTL but, EDM need more a right hand D. I would be very hesitant to give away 2019 First round pick without condition attached to it, especially that if MTL team don't change for the better, the pick might be at the top tiers.

''All of these trades are in mtl favour.''
That is why MTL fail in the past, they sent player away in favor of others team ;)

PIT right wing with Rust, Hornquist and kessel seem stack on the top 3RW. Byron will add speed on the left side and PK guy.
Jerabek will add puck moving D on the 3rd pair.
In my opinion, PIT don't need top offence, they need player with good contract, responsible in their zone and that support their current offence to win their 3rd cup in a row
