He has no leverage as a 10.2(c) RFA. Look at what Sean Durzi got after 27 points in 64 games. I think 1 x $1.75m would realistically be good for both sides.

Philly is not retaining $3m for 7 years. Ottawa has no interest in trading Chabot, let alone for an aging top 6 C on a terrible contract.

Terrible for Ottawa and Zebras is probably untouchable for Anaheim.
This trade would set Anaheim up for the next 8 years.

Rather keep Pinto than 1 year of Schiefele. Trade Kubalik for future considerations and we're set.

Ottawa Senators signed Jake Sanderson (8 Years / $8,050,000 AAV)
At the end of the season Sanderson was our 1D, routinely playing ~30 minutes a game and being elite offensively and defensively. There is very little risk for such a complete player like that. Great contract for our best defence man as soon as next season.

Morgan Barron
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>At this time it is a non-starter imo.
Barron was tracking for a solid 30 point rookie campaign with sheltered ice time and one inferior linemate. I am projecting the Jets 3rd this season to be Iafallo-Lowry-Appleton/Barron - where the LW here is seriously upgraded. Able to use his size effectively, I dare say he may see PP time as a front of net presence (depending on his play of course). I could see Barron quietly having a 40 point campaign if he stays healthy; and the think the Jets keep that around even if they are sniffing at the playoffs.
I like Kubalik's game, but he is also is what he his, where Barron hasn't hit a ceiling yet; and unlike Kubalik has contract control.
Given where the Jets are at, contract control matters.
I simply don't see the fit at all.</div></div>
That's totally fair. No interest in Appleton. Maybe Kupari + pick for Kubalik?

That defence is weaker without Chabot. Taking his cap hit and spending it on Boeser who wont have much success on a 3rd line doesnt make the team better imo

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mr_Canoehead</b></div><div>Winnipeg isn't in a position to be making a push this year, especially if they trade 37 and 55. They'll likely just keep Barron.</div></div>
The offseason is nearing a close and they havent been traded. Now theres barely any teams that have the capspace and would be a good fit. I imagine Winnipeg is going to go for it and see what they have. If they do make trades at the deadline to go into a rebuild, it's valuable to have a middle six winger on an expiring contract like Kubalik. If he puts up 40-50 points this season, he's easily a 2nd round pick + at the deadline esp if retained. Right now this trade helps them improve their team but also gives them more assets to trade to start the rebuild.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>Honestly, I think the Jets are going to be better than many think. What they have this year what they haven't had in 5 is a 3rd line that can produce.
Mind you, I think Barron is part of that plan, so yeah.... they pass.</div></div>
Do you think Ottawa would have to add or they would have no interest in Kubalik? Seems like a good trade for Winnipeg imo they get the better player and the better deadline trade asset.

And he'll have regained his value then with a bounce back season to his 2021-22 ability and the cap rising too
I wouldn't squander another 2 picks including a quality one. But at the same time, I am not a genius like Pierre Dorion
I am trading Kubalik for a pick instead, no brainer (because I can't use my brain as well as the genius Pierre)</div></div>
I'd rather move Kubalik as well, even if its for future considerations. If that's not possible, I take this.

One is double the cost of the other... Norris isn't close to 2x Chytil despite getting more oppurtinuty... Chytil got more Ozone starts bc he was on the Rangers and the Rangers are better than the Sens...
Norris is making 8 mill while not being an 8 mill player whereas Chitil's making 4 mill and is a 4 mill player... That's why the rangers don't touch this and that's why no team will touch that Norris contract</div></div>

Norris plays a very difficult role against top competition and regularly shuts them down. Chytil plays a sheltered role and you can see his teammates percentile is higher.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan98</b></div><div>Chytil doesn't get the chance to play PP1 unlike Norris in OTT... That 35 goal season's an outlier compared to 3 points in 8 game and 17 goals in 56 games while being 24 years old and Boucher's a meh prospect... Ott gets younger, saves 4 mill in cap space where they can turn around and sign 2 of Kane/Tatar/Pinto and they don't give up much to be desired... Chytil will excel when he finally isn't stuck to 3rd line and stuck either not on the PP or PP2 as the 2nd/3rd/4rth option
Rangers don't do this</div></div>
Norris scored 17 goals in 56 games (25 goal pace) as a 21 year old rookie. Chytil had 8 goals in 42 games at that age in his 3rd full season in the league.
Norris' 35 goals in 66 games season literally represents 50% of his NHL career thus far, but you think that we should go off the season he played 8 games due to injury :tearsofjoy
I like Chytil but he's coming off a season with 61.2% o-zone starts and a PDO of 103.4. He's playing in a favourable role just like Norris.
Both players will get better but one is very very clearly and obviously the better player right now, despite missing a year, and has more potential.

A former 35 goal scorer signed longterm for a 3C that put up 45 points (albeit has potential) ALONG with our most recent 1st round pick because it saves cap space? :tearsofjoy
There are way better to save the $1m in cap space we need. Also they're literally 4 months apart in age lmao
Rangers get the better player and the better prospect and you think they decline.
