Don't mind this at all, I think we can give him top minutes and get more than that for him in the case of a rebuild.
Sens are my second team, we're in a hard spot with Joseph because every manager in the league and their dog knows we need the cap space for Pinto, so our desperation will probably lead to us getting rid of him for free.

If we Blow it Up, let’s Trade for Quality Pieces in return, not a bunch of Picks and Prospects = a bunch of ???</div></div>
Trading for quality pieces instead of prospects is what led to JH10's era of mediocrity when we could have had a brand new core worth of FRPs for Tkachuk.
We have the Pelletiers, Wolfs, Coronatos and Honzeks for a much better core than we have now, we just need to give them time, draft a true 1C and get some dmen that fit their age range.

Have the Flames been inconsistent game to game? Yes. Can that be fixed come playoff time? Absolutely. You are overreacting</div></div>
The main issue is that Toronto has a future, Calgary doesn't. If a wild card spot is the best we can do with our core at this age, we're in trouble. The entire top 6, especially Huberdeau, Kadri and Toffoli are only going to regress with age, they're already all close to 30 or older. Tanev is 33, Markstrom 33, Coleman 31. The team is only going to get worse and worse and worse, and the boys are only going to lose value. We're awful to watch as is, and are not going to get an ounce better 2-4 years down the line.

You're gonna have to overspend on a first line center like Lindholm, they don't grow on trees. He'd nearly guarantee a threepeat in Denver.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Still in a playoff race</div></div>
If you watch the team you understand this is the most pathetic Flames team since 2013-14. No effort, no spirit, just a bunch of cheap shots on net to make it seem like they're dominating games when in reality they're losing to teams like Ottawa, Detroit, Philadelphia, Chicago, Montreal, Vancouver, Columbus. We need to accept that we're never going to make the playoffs with this core, especially as Huberdeau's 10.5 million dollar contract for 15 goals a season kicks in. Send everybody packing and get the biggest haul you can while the core's still under the age of 32.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DefenseFirst</b></div><div>How does Tanev fit in boston?</div></div>
Apparently they're shopping for Chychrun, in the market for a solid dman to fill in the ranks. If they can't land him, Tanev is older and doesn't produce nearly as much, but is also cheaper and an extremely solid shutdown dman, also for half the cap if Calgary retains 50%. Also one of the rare Flames who can actually perform in the playoffs. Very good for the Bruins if they don't want to overspend on other options.

We nearly have an entire team in the AHL, if we can draft an elite defenseman in a draft class like this we can seamlessly transition from our veteran core to the future Calgary Wranglers in 3-4 years.

Lucic cancels out one of the firsts so you're giving a bottom 6 d and 2 2nds because kane isn't resigning here. Most expensive 4th line in the league, you get 0 production from toffoli playing him there. Edmonton still outscores you and you lose the battle of alberta in regular season and playoffs.</div></div>
A healthy Valimaki is a current bottom 6 dman, who is sure to become a top 4 in his prime. Very cheap cap hit as it stands. We just have no room for him because our defense is so stacked.
The only way Edmonton outscores us with this lineup is if Markstrom screws up again. At the deadline Lucic's cap hit is hardly a concern, and Kane is not resigning in Chicago either, so really it's a first, a second and a future top 4 dman for some time with Patrick Kane.

If Ruzicka is so good then there's no reason for Calgary to even move him. Just use him instead of Dvorak.</div></div>
Retention only for one year (like you did for Toffoli), you can even have him back after this season, I'll add that to future considerations
This is a win *now* team because our contracts are going to eat us up very soon, we have this one season to do well, so we're willing to sacrifice a future second line center for a current middle six guy. That's how teams win cups.

Our current excuse list in Calgary is:
- Every star player was injured
- Markstrom was on LSD
- Coleman was shoved into the puck
Past excuses include:
- Geoff Ward is the worst coach in the NHL
- Refs hate Albertan teams
- The team simply refuses to play well
Excuses you likely will hear in the future are:
- Our stars like Monahan and Valimaki got ruined by injuries
- Bettman will quit his job before he allows a Canadian team to win the cup
- Markstrom was on LSD

Ruzicka is a point per game AHLer with NHL experienced set to become a second line player. He'll fit in perfectly with Montreal's Slovakian core. Dvorak is a low second line center.

You severely underestimate Ruzicka (23 yrs old, over point per game in the AHL, with NHL experience) and Montreal's hunger for Slovakian players.

The leafs would be taking a gamble on a healthy Murray. Keep in mind that most of his poor play was with severe injuries. He was making a slight comeback near the end of the season before he got injured again. If he can return to that, I think the Leafs would be happy to take a low starting / tandem goalie with retained salary making for a small cap hit, keeping in mind that they likely cannot afford Campbell.

Arizona never takes it because they think it's 2019 and Chychrun is a top 3 league defender, but he's severely regressed and will probably get moved down to the second pairing when the Sens' prospects develop. With Zaitsev they get a piece they can flip for low picks, a top 40 pick and a prospect with middle 6 potential who plays decently, though he doesn't score as much as we'd like. I'd be as generous as to add another second round pick because of his good contract.
