Decade 2019
how in any way is McMichael falling in the draft. He's had one of the best D+1 seasons of the entire draft. At the absolute very LEAST, he should stay at 25.

Adding Connolly by shipping out Hagg

Well you said pens fans are living rent free in caps fans head. And I was amused given the pens' reactionary responses to the caps' physicality. And you all just seem quite mad online.

Well, at least we didn't get swept by a team that got swept the next round by a team that got swept the next round.
And we don't have any horrendous contracts too.

How're your responses to the caps' physical/speed players going? Some solid contracts for Jack Johnson and Eric Gudbranson you've got over there

Bura trade

I don't think the preds do this. Jarnkrok has a very cap friendly deal and has remained pretty consistent over the past 4 years. They would be trading for a more expensive, riskier, inconsistent player.

I don't know that they would sign Fehr instead of letting some minor league guys have a shot, but I certainly wouldn't be upset to see F-16 back in red.</div></div>
Fehr is pretty versatile, and as someone else said pretty good at the faceoff dot, and I don't really know if there is any one on the offensive end that is ready to come up. Maybe Barber deserves a shot if we bring him back, but i'm not sure about anyone else

caps
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div>I'd really want to sit down and study how much better Kempny with Carlson has been, as a pair, than Djoos and Carlson, before committing 15M to a 27 year old Sophomore with three good months. I'd also look at an average athlete growth chart, and assume that Kempny, at 27 is as good as he gets, and Djoos, at 23, will keep improving over the next four years. I could certainly imagine giving Kempny, say, 9M over five years, to have some stability and hold onto someone who did well in a run to the Finals, as <a href="/users/ClockReads2113" target="_blank">@ClockReads2113</a> seems to suggest.
Keeping Beagle at 2.5M is kinda high, but reasonable. Signing a journeyman like Wingels and giving kids playtime doesn't exactly make up for DSP. <a href="http://www.nhl.com/stats/player?reportType=season&seasonFrom=20172018&seasonTo=20172018&gameType=3&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=goals" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">http://www.nhl.com/stats/player?reportType=season&seasonFrom=20172018&seasonTo=20172018&gameType=3&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=goals</a></div></div>
I think we'll really need to keep kempny. He easily better compliments Carlson than any other defenseman on the team. Djoos is a much more offensive defenseman, and neither he nor carlson are really 'shutdown' defenseman. Also, I hate mentioning this because times are changing, but I think it is important: Kempny is a whole lot bigger than Djoos. Djoos is great, but he is not physical at all and although he is great defensively and positionally, he is scrawny and not that tall. Also Kempny has shown much more than Bowey, and I dont think we can change up the Orlov/Nisky pairing, and Orpik is not a top pairing defenseman.
Also, the overall 15million to Kempny means very little. The AAV is what matters, and should this end up not working out, the contract is easily tradable (unlike orpik's, at least before his pretty good play in the playoffs), and he could also be buried with a small cost in the AHL.

caps
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ClockReads2113</b></div><div>Doubtful OTT gives up the 4th overall but that would be sweet.
Also, Wilson and Kempny won't cost that much. And I'm not paying that much for Beagle.</div></div>
Yeah I think its somewhat unlikely to get 4OA. But I think its very likely that the caps trade Grubauer-- a l think there are gonna have to be other moves like Burakovsky and Connolly. If any of them actually do get traded it'll probably be separate and not a package and I'd imagine it would have to be a bunch of picks coming back.
Also, I disagree about Wilson, I think he will easily get at least 4 million if not more. And I dunno about Kempny, that's really a tossup, I definitely can't see him taking less than 2 million, and I think the sweet-spot is around 2.5m-3m.
