It probably is but very necessary if you feel it puts you in a position to win a cup this season.

Cap restrictions are lifted after Monday’s TDL. That’s why you will see Wahlstrom Thursday

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan16</b></div><div>I think Dal Colle can be usefull on the leafs.</div></div>
And I think Dermott would be useful on NYI. I'm not saying he's nearly as good as Devon Toews, but he can replace what we lost in him and be at minimum good depth, which we don't have. I want to be at least 9 NHL defensemen deep come playoff time. Right now our depth is the regular six, Aho/Hickey. Aho and Hickey haven't played in the NHL in years. MDC has looked really good this year but we need to upgrade on D.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>goowy</b></div><div>Although I think Dermott is a little over rated by the Leafs media, this trade works well for the Isles. Dermott has 3 or so years of team control, plus he adds depth to a D core that needs another guy that can actually play and develop some more. Dal Colle is actually a good bottom sixer who is physical, battles hard but with zero offensive upside (he has a hard shot but doesn't have the hockey IQ to create opportunities for him or his linemates).</div></div>
Only issue could be the expansion draft. I really want to lose salary in Expansion, whether that be Leddy, Bailey, or Varlamov. If we do this, we may leave Dermott unprotected, which means Seattle could take him. I'm still willing to take the risk, I'm just saying.

It's not more, it's what the offer is. Bellows is a wing who's already on the outs in the organization... (top 9 W who needs good playmaker with him)
Aho is a small bottom pairing D who can't get into the nhl in the isles organization.
Everyone knows Komarov is a cap dump.
The picks are what they are.... picks.
If I'm NSH, I counter with Bellows and one of Bolduc, Wilde or Salo with a 1st.

Isles say no anyway. Can't afford Gaudreau and would rather have Beauvillier still on the team.
I'd trade like a 5th for Leivo though.

It looks good on paper but the islanders are a defensive minded team and they’re giving up their #1 guy. The top pairing of him and Pelech is an integral part of our defense and would take a massive hit if he leaves. Dobson is looking good but he’s still developing and he’s not ready for that top spot yet. The team is built to win now so it’s not in our best interest to develop prospects at the expense of our top players even though perfetti has a lot of potential.

Losing boychuk was addition by subtraction. Losing toews hurts but Dobson has done a solid job replacing him. Toews is still the better D, but by the end of this season dobson will likely be better than toews.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>goowy</b></div><div>As much as the Isles want to get rid of Komarov and his contract, this trade doesn't work for a couple reasons.
Trading essentially two first round picks for a Connor Murphy, a top 4 defenseman, does not make sense after they were forced to trade a solid, home grown top 4 defenseman in Devon Toews for two second round picks. Poor asset management.
I understand by including Komorav as a cap dump the price will go up, but this is too high.
The Isles are solid on the right side with Pulock and Dobson. I'm not sure adding another RD is the "shake up" they need. Mayfield has value in his role, #4 Dman, stay at home guy and solid PKer.</div></div>

He plays all 3 zones, best, worst matchups whatever it takes. Maybe Dobson plays good but as of now, Poink would be better. I have said it many times, the only reason why the Jets fans want a Pulock or Hamilton type is size, at 6'0'' - 185 lbs, Pionk is small to play in the west playoffs</div></div>
I'm talking about last season, too small of a sample size to judge someones play this season. Last season 25 of pionk's points came on the powerplay. Pionk would not be a better option than Dobson right now, pionk is a turnover machine and would have to learn trotz system, which would take a while. The isles would have 0 interest in pionk, either perfetti or a deal around Connor/ehlers.

no he would not, the way dobson is developing hell likely be better than pulock by the end of this season. Pionk is not better than pelech either. and yes, pionk is a #4 D. Most of his value comes from the powerplay.
The isles plan on extending pulock but if the jets wanted the isles to entertain an offer , it would start with perfetti. Theyre not trading a #1D for a #4 who will command a big raise because he puts up points and a late 2nd rd pick.

after seeing what montreal gave up to get anderson and how much they signed him and gallagher to i dont think the habs can afford to acquire or retain landeskog. they'd have to mortgage the future.
danault losing his role to kk and has already complained to the media about his role only a few months ago. i don't think his vaule is all that high. he's only put up 3 points in 8 games while playing 16 minutes a night. probably a matter of time before he goes public again.

I'm totally with you on the Jost's value being similar to Cizikas, and I also agree that it's risky to trade a Dman now given injuries. It's not a wrong approach to be patient.
That said, thinking long term this could be a move that shores up our goaltending for years to come. In the short term Cizikas would replace Jost, even being an upgrade, and beyond this season we have O'Connor, Bowers, and Kaut for 4th line roles to replace Jost. The biggest issue is losing a Dman obviously, but we could probably afford to ride out a few days/weeks until Toews is back. A D group of Byram-Makar-Girard-Toews-Johnson is more than fine, and Graves can be replaced in a separate trade at the deadline.

No it doesn’t make sense. Lou probably considers him untouchable because he has the potential to be a top 5 G in the league. Me personally I would trade him for a young cost controlled Top 6 F

He definitely didn’t have 3 and it doesn’t really matter anyways because when wahlstrom was on the ice last night, the flyers had only 1 shot attempt. He does simple things that a majority of isles forwards can’t do, like make a tape to tape pass and exit + enter the zone with possession. He was their best forward in limited ice time.

I expected him to start off slow. No preseason, hasn’t played a game in 10 months. Even shestyerkin and samsonov have gotten off to terrible starts this year, arguably worse than sorokin.
Jost is a solid defensive minded winger and graves is nothing special (more of a 3rd pairing D IMO) . If the isles were to trade sorokin (highly unlikely) they should get a young top 6 forward in return

No brainer for Colorado. I'd even throw in an extra pick or prospect to get 'er done.
Fwiw I think Jost would be excellent in Trotz's NYI team. His defensive instincts are top notch.</div></div>
