CizikasSorokin to Col

Perhaps Isles can get more in a trade involving Cizikas and Sorokin, but Cizikas is UFA (Isles cant afford to resign) and will likely walk. He is also not the same player he used to be. I think he is on the downswing. I also believe Sorokin will not adjust to north american game like Shesterkin or Samsonov. I know its only been two games, but he struggles to see through traffic and therefore gives up too many rebounds.

Yes, I agree. Even retaining 50% doesn't work. Would need another trade to offload some salary.

Reasonable Offseason
You are not asking too much for Palmerie if an extension is included. Could probably get more out of Isles if an extension is in place. Maybe a better prospect (Bellows).
But if it is just straight up at the deadline (no extension), then its too much. If deadline deal, it would likely just be a second round pick or a B prospect (Wilde, Aho, HoSang, [Hickey + 2R pick], Dal Colle, Van De Sompel, Hutton. Isle don't have many decent prospects to move or that other teams would want. IF they move Bellows, Wahlstrom, Holmstrom, Bolduc it wont be for a rental.
Zajac is gets you a second rounder at best. I do think Sakic will be looking bottom six guys at the deadline.

Trade with Sharks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>yikes</b></div><div>Since I don't LOVE Bailey Id like to see a prospect (maybe bellows or someone who could use a new team) as well (prospect for Bailey being taken on plus part of the first "value" then the first and Ho-Sang for Labanc). Id prefer to see just youth assets/ picks in a Labanc trade tho.
Not a bad idea tho if the Sharks are selling.</div></div>
Thanks for the feedback. I have a few trade scenarios in my head with the pieces mentioned above.
However, Isles need to move money out in order to take a roster player.

That's fair. I didn't realized he got his game back. Haven't watched the Flames this year. I just heard they were struggling and always hear his name in trade rumors. If they were to shake things up, who would they move? What do they need?

Well, that does not make for a strong defensive third line. I'm not sure who you put on the second PK forward unit with Pageau. Nelson or Beau? Not sure Trotz would do that.

Notable players requiring waivers for taxi squad: Ladd, Hickey, Johnson, Dal Colle. I think Dal Colle is a "healthy scratch" to avoid getting picked off on waivers if they tried to send him to the taxi squad. Aho is a two way deal this year and a one way deal next season, therefore he can be waived for the taxi squad without risk of losing him. Not sure if Timashov is going to get a one way or two way deal (details not released yet). If it is a one way deal, he may get a look on the third line or the healthy scratch department.

Biased Isles Fan. I think that's too much for Reinhart. I understand you are trying to offload salary. Maybe keep Clutter (but then there is no room for AA under the cap). I don't think Lou wants to go without picks in the first three rounds next year.
Maybe keep clutter out of that deal. Move Cizikas in a seperate deal for a second or third round pick. Then buy a cheap UFA 4th line centre.
I like where your going with this though.

Realistic Defense with Brodie and Hard to play against Bottom 6
Love what you're trying to do. Love that your willing to trade Dermott for that piece, but Coach Q loves Acciari. They would never accept this. Plus Florida needs forwards/centres after losing Trochek, then both Haula and Walmark (whom they got in the Trochek trade). Maybe Austin Watson or Colton Scissons out of Nashville or Nick Ritchie (Bos) or bottom sixer out of St. Louis.

Not unrealistic. Don't like trading Varly though....but I think Edm is an option.
Does Chiasson kill penalties? Because JGP needs a PK partner. May have to ditch Hoffman and get a middle 6 winger who kills penalties..... I would have to look at the UFA list to see who is left for cheap.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BuFfaLOFaN</b></div><div>What if it was Beauvillier instead of Whalstrom? Is he worth more Beauvillier?</div></div>
Not sure the Isles sub in Beau. Beau is a bonafide top 6 winger with speed and youth. Isles sincerely lack that. Can't afford to lose that piece with Pulock. Its hard enough to give away our Number 1,defenseman.

Jeff Carter
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Grantedspace96</b></div><div>Carter is going to Retire a king. He’s already stated if he gets traded anywhere he’s going to retire. I would imagine however the addition of Carter to the Isles would make this team a lot more scarier</div></div>
I heard that rumour of retiring if traded as well, but more recently he denied that...
"Don’t count on it, writes The Athletic’s Josh Cooper. After sitting down with Carter, Cooper relays that not only did he deny all retirement rumors, but stated that he hopes to play out the remaining three years of his contract (and collect his $7MM left in salary). He hopes that he can do just that with L.A., as well. Carter lacks any trade protection in his current contract, so he knows that he could be moved, but would not prefer it. “I want to be an L.A. King”, the respected veteran told Cooper, “I want to help change things around here.”
Unfortunately, the team may not be so eager to continue the relationship. The cap space alone is an issue, but Cooper also cites the team’s impressive prospect depth down the middle as a reason why Carter is viewed as expendable. Carter, who is 20 games away from 1,000 in his career, is still a valuable asset for his experience and versatility, but Cooper acknowledges that he is a major candidate to be on the move this summer, regardless.
A trade is certainly possible and there would be a market for Carters’ services. However, it would not be a market that would net the Kings anything of value and could very well still cost them against the salary cap with either retained salary or another expensive contract in return. Cooper even relays word from another NHL executive that the market value for Carter is “quite low” right now. One has to wonder if trading Carter for actual value might be easier if GM Rob Blake waits until the next trade deadline and hope he re-establishes his ability in that time."

Reasonable trade...I hate to send Leddy to Pitt though. He'd actually help them. I can see Jared as a 3C with Trotz. Prefer to use Leddy to get top 6 help, but I see you were lucky enough to sign Panarin :).
Side note: Wahlstrom and Bellows will not be on the big club next year.

These are some decent, reasonable trades. I don't think it would be enough for Taffoli. I think for Taffoli, the Kings would require a 1st and Ho-Sang or the 2nd and Bellows. I'd be ok with upping the cost a bit.

CGY fans are you interested in this bad contract swap
I think Ladd is more useful in the bottom 6 roll, under Trotz, than Neal is in top 6 roll, under Trotz. I know its a lot of money for a bottom sixer, but I think Ladd's impact will be slightly more than Neals for the dollars/term. Perhaps, if they were still under Snow/Weight "all offence" regime, then, maybe.

Weird Idea
I understand your desire for Varlamov (Sorokin) and this deal makes sense for the Isles. Would probably have to add a 2nd rounder or Aho/Pelech going to COL. Yes, this would give COL an upgrade going into this years playoffs, but.....then they would have two goalies signed next year, mind you for reasonable dollars. I think they want to go after a big name in net this offseason (bobrovsky, quick, Talbot), and they would not be able to with two signed goalies for next year.
Also, I'm not sure NYI wants to go into the offseason with two UFA goalies, although, I think Lehner will resign.
