Red Wings TDL

Not many players are "pure" cap dumps, like how the Wings got a 2nd for Staal and still put him in the lineup. I'm a Wings and Blues fan and while Leddy may not be the missing piece for the Blues D, he's an upgrade over Scandella and provides more cap flexibility. I can understand the value being a little off, but structurally it can make sense for both teams.
also - that's not my starting lineup, probably would be Staal/Pettersson/Oesterle on the left side with Scandella as the 7th

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>Pass. Don't think Leddy fits the bill and the price is too high.</div></div>
Part of that price is taking on Scandella's contract. Leddy went for a 2nd last year and I imagine the going price for a 2x.3.2 cap dump would be a 2nd-3rd round pick. But yea that trade is going to depend a lot on your evaluation of Leddy and Robertson,
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jfstompers</b></div><div>2 1st for Bert is kinda nuts. He doesn't have that kind of value</div></div>
Trying to base it a bit off the Mantha deal, and I imagine Bertuzzi has to be a little more valuable than Mantha was. Tried to offset the 2022 1st with a 2022 2nd so that it's more of a trade down from 20-30 to 50-60 than just a straight up 1st round pick. Pittsburgh doesn't have a lot of futures to offer outside draft picks.

Noted on the Wild. Trying to aim for a contender in the Metro or Central (lower chance of playing a Canadian team in the playoffs). Who would be interested in Bertuzzi outside of the rumored Pittsburgh?

If Blues are blowing it up
I think you're going to need more for O'Reilly. He is going to be the most valuable among all those those players.
Parayko trade I would consider, but Trouba's contract would be tough to swallow.
STL probably accepts the Tarasenko deal, but they're only trading for Strome to flip him to another team. It may make more sense as a 3 way deal with Tarasenko going to NYR, Strome going to team X, and STL receiving futures from both.
STL accepts the Krug trade.

DET-STL pre-expansion draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>codyrider87</b></div><div>Honestly. Dunn is a bit overrated. He has been a healthy scratch at times within the past 2 yrs due to a subpar defensive game. He’s trending as a low end 2nd pairing D-Man. I think the blues would jump on this deal all day. But the Wings wouldn’t give up Bertuzzi for just what’s on the table. If Dunn was as good as some say, why hasn’t a team jumped on him for the supposed asking price of a 1st Rounder?</div></div>
Dunn had a pretty bad down year this year but he faired extremely well analytically in previous seasons, both offensively and defensively. A lot of Blues players had down years so I would take that with a grain of salt and hope he regresses to his former self. In regards to him not being traded yet, it's likely the Blues wanted to at least keep him for the playoffs, and the trade market hasn't exactly been busy recently. For all we know the Blues may want to keep him going into next season.
What do you feel would be a more fair deal for the Red Wings?

DET-STL pre-expansion draft
Blues can more easily protect Bertuzzi than Dunn. Red Wings jump up from 23 to 17 in 2021 and jump up from 33-40 to 15-25 in 2022 in return. STL's 2022 pick is top 10 protected. Red Wings sign Bertuzzi beforehand then retain 50% salary if need be.

Dump and Chase Wings hope Wallstedt at 9
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>You're not getting a first back to dump Eriksson. The cost to take him is a high pick. You'd get a 7th and a B prospect back.</div></div>
Red Wings are taking on a year of Eriksson to move up from 23 to 9. Seems like a win-win, although I don't know if Vancouver does it. Staal was basically the some contract and got a 2nd. Is the difference in value between 9 and 23 equal to a 2nd rounder?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Drw4209</b></div><div>Gross, Detroit isn't trading one of their few decent D (and retaining) for a dime a dozen prospect and a measly 3rd</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>I agree Detroit needs Stecher a lot more than a goalie prospect that is a couple of years away from being NHL ready. Which isn't a guarantee he might never make it out of the AHL.</div></div>
Swapped 3rd to a 2nd and lowered retention. Justification is red wings need to expand their goalie pipeline and Stecher may not be apart of their long term future, and have no shortage of cap space. Blues have three solid goalie prospects so they are comfortable trading one.

A contender isn't going to take Steen's contract. This is just a shot in the dark, doesn't necessarily have to be Detroit, just basing it off the Staal trade.
