Yeah and Im assuming there is no protection on the pick which makes it an easy decline. They'd have to know better where that lands for this type of deal to even be considered. Just for fun though, if we had a crystal ball and that pick was 100% the 32nd OV pick, i think that is probably a fair price then. Less than 30th though, probably too high then.

Am I the only one who wouldn't trade Newhook (and his amazing 2.9M value deal) for Zegras straight up? I like what I see from Newhook in all zones and I like the effort I see night after night. Zegras is high risk, high reward. Newhook is a sure thing.

This is basically what I came into comments to say. And I don’t think it makes sense for MTL in that case. They just aren’t great trade partners

Then there's nothing else of interest for Nemec.

Time to move
I'm maybe rather trade our 2024 1st round pick (who will likely gonna finish 8th or 9th overall) than trading theses two first round pick. Also, I think Anaheim will likely prioritize a quality return than a quantity return.

Just for Fun
With so many young players not signed to long term deals (Guhle, Xhekaj, Slafkovsky, Dach, Newhook, Hutson, Reinbacher) do you really want to antagonize the Canes and start a war?
Since most of their team is locked up, we are definitely operating at a disadvantage if we do.

MTL are not, so just keep Dvorak as the 3C and let him fade away like Subbanator said. Keep Evans as our 4C, good guy in the room and decent 4th liner

Ahh yes! The 24 year old undrafted prospect phenom Axel Steeves! How could the penguins not want him in return for a multi 40 goal scoring winger who's a ppg player in the NHL playoffs.
This is without question the dumbest and worst Guentzel proposal I've seen on this website. Actually blown away lol

He's the 2024 Chariot.
No fan wants him, but GM do for some reason.
TBH - it's hard to look good in Montreal right now. Half the team doesn't want to be there and have given up.... and Savvy is still there blocking shots nigth in, night out. He clearly should not be on a top pair... but he's probably one of the best in his "stay at home" type of Dman... which usually slot on the mid to bottom pair.
