I don't think this is the right package for Rossi. (Minnesota will want more)
Mesar is better off developing in our system. Keep Slafsquatch happy!
(Maybe a package of WPG 1st, CGY 1st, Justin Barron, Riley Kidney and Sean Farrell could do it) I really don't see the Wild moving Marco Rossi, a 2C with very good cost control, and 14m in dead cap do deal with.

Mitch can fetch a bit more than that in my humble opinion.
I could see Kyle Dubas doing a trade like this to get players that he likes back. Not sure if the Penguins fans would like this. (That 3rd from Dallas is a bit too much, with the limited draft capital that the Leafs have)

At the TDL
A. Ducks Fans do not want to move Zegras, especially not to Montreal. (If it ever happens, Verbeek will be fired within the next 18 months imo)
If Marner would come the other way from the Leafs, that could be an interesting idea to play with. (Verbeek probably wouldn't be fired for that.)
B. This is overpay for the HABS. The 5OA pick can change a franchise if selected correctly. (If Marc Bergevin were still the GM I'd trade the 5OA for anything, because his track record was abysmal. In Kent we trust though.)

I wish it were that reasonable. But I think it would cost the CGY 1st instead of the MTL 2nd in 2025
Probably also need to add a B-tier Prospect like Sean Farrell.
And still Davidson probably would not accept that offer. He would just pick his guy.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Schuyler</b></div><div>seems like an overpay 9 and 26 would is equal to 5th overall per puckpedia and I'd much rather have Zary and a 2nd over 26th</div></div>
It cost the Leafs the 7OA, the 37OA 68OA to move up to 5th in 2008
It would likely cost 9OA, Vancouver's 1st in 2024 and Calgary's 2nd 2025, to move into the 5th overall spot from the 9th.
The trade very likely won't happen.
(Pelletier is not worth the 26th overall, maybe a high/mid-second. Makes no sense for Calgary to trade Pelletier. I'd agree Zary is not worth giving up it either for the F lames, so don't see this trade happening. But GM's do crazy things on draft day.)
So if the Flames want to move up ... I don't see Kent Hughes accepting anything less than the package I proposed above
Or the 2024 9OA, Vancouver's 1st in 2024 and Jakob Pelletier. [For the 5th OA and Sean Farrell]

As for Sharangovich, you need to pay a certain price to acquire a big goal scorer. Owen beck is clearly not enough. I like him a lot but is ceiling is limited and Calgary will ask for more. Based on what Vancouver gave for Lindholm, this is a package that could very likely make it done.</div></div>
I agree Sennecke will not be there.
Sharangovich doesn't make any sense for that much. (And if the Flames are as high as you are on him, they would not even part ways with him.)

Ohl big draft
Owen Beck for Sharangovich 1 for 1 does not make sense to me. Yet alone adding so many other prospects, players and picks. Very poor asset management. (I agree that Harris and Farrell have been frustrating at times this season, but that does not mean they are worth nothing. Harris is not going anywhere unless a 2nd comes back, or he is part of a larger package. Farrell would need to be flipped for a seemingly interesting prospect in return.)
The VGK trade is fair based on pick value, and could happen. (Especially if someone like Sennecke is still on the board.)
If Seattle wants to move up. Then, I would ask for a package: 8OA + 40OA + Jani Nyman, otherwise more picks are not very useful in my opinion.
I would not do the Colorado trade. Would rather have the 2nd in 2025 from Pittsburgh, as well as keeping the 40OA this year.

Big offseason
Winnipeg is not going to consider that offer.
If you switch that 3rd to Buffalo's 1st in 2024 and keep Östlund the value may be there for Winnipeg to consider.
It still doesn't make sense for the Jet's timeline though .
Switch Östlund for JJ Peterka, the Jets should consider, but the Sabres should not even offer that.
Therefore these two teams would not be ideal trade partners for a trade surrounding Ehlers. (Honestly, Ehlers is basically untouchable, unless a ridiculous overpay comes along.)

Albeit entertainment value, it makes no sense for the Ducks to trade away Zegras. You might be able to pry away Sam Colangelo for the right package. (I am pretty sure that Max Jones and Isac Lundeström are also available, but don't see why the Habs would acquire them.)

I also quite like Senneke myself.
Kent might want size. But I really hope regardless of the situation, that we don't draft Sennecke or Greentree for size at 5OA.
Rossi at 85-86kg is someone I think Martin St Louis would be thrilled to have on his 2nd line and then we could nab someone else with the 13OA, I would take a bet on Cole Eiserman if he is still there.
(One of Eiserman, Iginla, Sennecke or Greentree should still be on the board at 13OA. If not go for Basha, Boisvert or Miettinen.)

I appreciate the sentiment that you desire size.
Let's say Celibrini, Demidov, Lindstrom and Levshunov are gone in the first four. Who would we draft that has size, is a forward, that we are not reaching for. Minnesota could use a defenseman in their system, I'd rather trade down, get Rossi, and draft a player like Greentree, Iginla, or Sennecke if any of them are available at 13. (And even if Lindstrom is available, his injury history concerns me a bit, we already have Dach in our system.)
If my choices are [Catton or Eiserman at #5]
or Rossi + [Greentree, Iginla, Sennecke or even Basha at #13] I'd consider both options very carefully. (Even Eiserman still might be available at 13, who knows.)
Let's say this... Do you want Berkley Catton (5'11, 75kg) at 5OA or Rossi (5'9, 86kg) and potentially 6'2 Greentree or 6'2 Sennecke at 13OA or any of the aforementioned players (Iginla, Basha ... Eiserman).
You could even draft Julius Miettinen at #13, preferably at #27 from Winnipeg though, for size, 6'3 (190cm) + 207lbs (94kg). (But Craig Button does have Miettinen ranked 17th overall.)

Kent is not going to find someone who is 262cm and 124kg. Not sure this type of prospect exists, neither is that size effective for hockey. Pretty sure Slafsquatch is the closest, and we already have him.
(FYI Slaf is 10% taller, 25% bulkier than Rossi. Having lots of size with less skill is also quite useless. Demidov is a couple kilos lighter than Rossi by the way. Rossi showed up to camp at 86kg and he is a 2C, )

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caerii</b></div><div>That's okay, Harris and Farrell aren't worth their draft positions anymore either.
Rossi is still a 22 year old middle six center, at worst (played like a 2C most of this season), with the potential to become much more.</div></div>
Harris could fetch a 2nd at the right moment. Higher than his draft slot (71OA). Which is why I valued him higher (at 42OA). Maybe a bit too high...
Farrell is probably still worth a 4 round pick, 100OA is probably what the Habs view him as still ... maybe Guerin also disagrees.
If the 5OA is worth [50], Harris is [3.25], Farrell is [0.75], the total is [54]
If Rossi is worth [30] and the 13OA is worth [28], the total is [58]
Minnesota will have to give up 3 to 4 points of value to move up, like the Maple Leafs did in 2008 to move up from 7OA to 5OA with the Islanders.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>drambui</b></div><div>exept rossi is not worth 9 overall anymore.</div></div>
Guerin and Hughes, would have to discuss what to do with Colorado's 2nd round pick, if they disagree on the value of Rossi. But the structure of the trade would still have to look something like this. Otherwise Guerin just says no. (Also really depends on who is available at 5OA). I don't see Minnesota parting with Rossi unless they get at least 12OA value for Rossi. (The 12OA has a value of 30 [PuckPedia Perri Pick Value Calculator] and the 13OA has a value of 28. So you could drop Colorado's 2nd from the Habs side of the trade, and the value is about equal from both sides.)

Was thinking Farrell could replace Kakko's spot the on third line RW in the future. (Not sure where you would slot Kakko in the lineup down the line.)
With Boyko and Ollas already signed for next year in the minors, I was thinking the NYR have an overcrowded Goalie room, with Domingue also signed for another year in NHL. 3 goalies in NHL and 3 in the minors, seems like a lot.

You are one injury away from not having your top three RD. Your only RD in the system is St. Ivany. I appreciate you can sign Nolan Collins off of your reserve lists this summer. Having an extra higher-ceiling RHD, like Barron, would be a good edition to the Penguins. The fit isn't great in Montreal for Barron, but his talent his undeniable.
Don't forget Koivunen was drafted 51st overall and Barron 25th overall. (And Carolina did not part with any A level prospects in the Guentzel trade.)
