If he really likes it here I could see him in the $5m-$5.5m range for 7 years, with RNH/Hyman as comparables

Bruins back to the top
Orlov probably gets closer to $6.5m, O'Reilly probably closer to $6m, Bertuzzi closer to $6m. You're insane to trade Ullmark for nothing, he will get a 1st from someone. I also think you could get some more back for Hall, and quite a lot more for Gryz. I don't hate the lineup though.
Although I personally think Ullmark should stay, he had 6 bad games while injured and now everyone wants to trade our (soon-to-be) Vezina-winning .938 goalie. Plus the fact the Ullmark splits starts with Swayman is the reason Swayman is so good. Give him 55+ games and he will probably not look the same.

Toronto would be out of their minds not to take that. I get that they're mostly looking to just restructure and still compete right away rather than getting draft picks, but in a trade this important, they have to maximize the return value. And the value there is just too good to pass up. They can trade those 1sts for other players if they really want, and Morrow is exactly the prospect they need.

Hall is probably only worth a late 2nd at best. Look at what Bjorkstrand got.

Can’t see the leafs doing that. The whole point of trading Marner would be that they’re admitting they can’t build a contender with that many guys with such big contracts. Why would they trade Marner for someone who is probably not even quite as good, making even more, and older? Just to get a late 1st?

He'd probably want about what he makes now at $1.75m. If you sent down McLaughlin you could (just barely) afford to keep Nosek at that price

Value discussion Taylor Hall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Can the Bruins find 10 teams on his trade list that actually wants to take on cap for 6m for two years.? Certainly production wise, Hall was not a 6m player last sees . And let's image the Bruins do find a team....is there any reason that should help the Bruins with their cap without taking a sweetener from the Bruins.
If teams have 6m to spend they can find a UFA for just a good value probably without giving up anything in a trade.</div></div>
I think there are some teams with cap space who would spend a 2nd or 3rd rounder on him. Just my opinion, but it's a really good gamble for whoever picks him up. He was fantastic in the playoffs, and he's getting third line ice time as a possession player on this team. Some bubble teams with room would be a good fit imo.

Value discussion Taylor Hall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>Maybe the Bjorkstrand return? 3rd + 4th? Moving $6 mil isn't easy, especially when you're already handcuffed by the cap. B's currently have $10.587 mil space with only 14 players signed...that doesn't account for the $4.5 mil in overages that are going to be a part of that. It's a tough situation, and we could see a decent sized exodus from Boston, with very low returns.</div></div>
Pretty fair assessment, I think Bjorkstrand's return is a good comparable. And yeah, some more cap will need to be moved out if Hall is replaced by Bertuzzi (probably a Reilly buyout and either Forbort or Gryz traded).

Value discussion Taylor Hall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>Obviously the biggest hurdle in trading Hall is he has a full NMC, so he has control over where ( and if) he goes. Then there's only a limited number of teams that can absorb his $6m cap hit without sending cap back to Boston. Trading Hall is going to be problematic for Sweeney. He's got very little leverage as I see it</div></div>
He has a 10 team no-trade list, not a full NMC

For this purpose just assume he'll accept Hall's cap hit of $6m or less. I'm mostly curious what Hall would bring back.

This is obviously not supposed to be a realistic or most probable outcome, it’s the “best case scenario”. My point with making this roster was to show that it would take so many things to go perfectly just for the Canucks to be a playoff team.

What are you getting at? It’s not like they have to blindly pick him today, they’ll pick him at 18 years of age at the draft… like every other player who was once 15 lol. The canucks are a team that needs to practice patience.

idk man if I were the canucks I’d look long and hard at that deal. It takes a longer term outlook but that pick could very easily be a lottery pick.

Way overvaluing Garland, he’s probably worth a 2nd at absolute most. Horvat should get a better return, maybe replace the 7th with a 2nd/behrens/olausson.

Not enough imo. If nick foligno gets a 1st and two 4ths then horvat should be a 1st and knies.

As a Canucks fan that is way too much for Garland. Honestly with how Mittelstadt is playing this year and the current market for 2nd line wingers making $5m, I'm not sure Buffalo would even do a 1 for 1.

Not bad, I think more defensive depth is needed in case of injuries, especially for the playoffs, and this addresses that.
