<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>krakowitz</b></div><div>He wants out. Hence the one year deal to bring him to UFA status. Ottawa’s three best players are all pending UFAs. They already traded one of their best guys for pennies on the dollar. It’s amazing to think how this team went South so fast. They were in double overtime of Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, and all of a sudden this is what’s going on. It’s a damn shame</div></div>

I think it's pretty clear that this is about three things
1. If you get that far in the playoffs you don't add by substraction but you just add (i mean roster players of course). I do think Duchene is better than Turris but the latter was their clear No. 1 center and you can't trade away your No. 1 center even if it's "just" a Kyle Turris and hope that brings you over the top.
2. Dorion is just not a good GM. I pointed it out with the departure of Turris and the latest "great" move was trading away Hoffman for a cap burden like Boedker. Doug Wilson (Sharks GM) kicked Dorions ass by getting almost market value for Hoffman and sending him back into the Atlantic Division (pretty hilarious if you're not supporting the Sens).
3. Eugene melnyk can't sit back and tries to control everything but - and that's the problem - he just doesn't have a clue about hockey.

That's why Karlsson (no explanation needed), Stone (makes it clear with that contract) and Duchene (doesn't want to be part of a rebuild in Colorado so he's not going to cheer for it in Ottawa) want out and i can absolutly understand them.
