Just listen
Myers gets easier to move as time passes and there has been some rumored interest in him as it stands. Hamonic and Poolman are not as immovable as you believe and if its a roster spot you are worried about, either can be waived to Abby. Creating a roster opening and THEN looking for the young D prospect seems kind of backwards. If a player can take a roster spot that spot can always be made available. Seems like a lot of drama for nothing IMO.

None of those guys are in the way. Replacing any of them with actual quality players is extremely important. But by all means keep running 6/7/8 defenceman on the right side.

Some different ideas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>thebiggere</b></div><div>What's the fascination with Byram? Last thing the Canucks need is to trade away their top scorer, with 1 year of term left and take back a player that may be one (or even less) hits away from retirement. The last thing the Canucks should be doing is trading certainty for risk, unless there's a ton of other potential upside to balance that risk.
Plus, you trade Miller to a western conference team and you only make it tougher next year, unless you're doing something that weakens the Avs more than it weakens the Canucks.
Whether Colorado would ever accept a deal like this isn't important, there's no way the Canucks should be going down a path like this one.</div></div>
It's been rumoured recently that the Canucks have interest in Byram. Definitely some risk there but huge reward if he's able to get back to full health.
Regarding trading Miller in conference, I'm not worried about that if I'm the Canucks. Trade him to whoever gets you the best package. Canucks aren't in the same stratosphere as Colorado next year so doesn't really matter IMO.

2023-24 Canucks
I said it on another Canucks thread - Jason Dickinson has 6 points in 48 games this year and a $2.65M AAV. Isles don't give up anything for him - maybe if you give up the 4th instead for the eternal stud Future Considerations, they accept

Boeser and Cap Reallocation
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Only way I could see this working:
Canucks retain half on Myers, Devils retain half on Tatar.
That one year where Myers is under contract and Tatar is not, is a huge year for us as we will have to re-sign Severson, Graves, Siegenthaler. By retaining both, it mostly reduces 2023-24 for us. Otherwise, I don’t think it would be wise idea.</div></div>
Canucks wouldn't retain on Myers, probably would be a wash for any player that replaces him cap wise. Last year of his contract is actually pretty valuable too since its 5mil signing bonus 1mil salary. Would be a good trade piece for a cheap team looking to hit the floor. Also hes been good this year, overpaid but good.

Canucks after TDL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>telmax</b></div><div>Oh I 100% agree with you. I don't think it makes sense for the Canucks to target Schneider either as Lundkvist fits the portfolio as lot more for the type of D-man the Canucks are in need of.
A guy like Schneider works really we in NYR though since he can be relied on a bit more defensively pair with Nemeth to start.</div></div>
I think a 3rd pair of the future of Schneider and Jones/Robertson could be fantastic for us in the long run. It just happens that we’ve got multiple high quality d prospects in the system.

Canucks after TDL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>telmax</b></div><div>Lundkvist is the perfect buy low candidate right now for the Canucks.
We are forgetting how amazing of a prospect Lundkvist is. NYR's transition to a more gritty system does not match him at all. Plus they have a log jam at RD and cannot afford to play an defenseman who leans offensively with Fox and Trouba already in the lineup.
Him in Vancouver is exactly what they'd need and he fits what Boudreau wants. Give Lundkvist top for minutes with Hughes or OEL and you will see the dynamic puck carrying defender that the Rangers are mishandling .</div></div>
Mishandling or not we don’t need more offense from the back end. Especially on the right side as you mention. Schneider fits far better IMO for us. If he wasn’t offered before for Eichel, he won’t be for Miller. And if that’s the requirement, we’d explore other options.
