Thread: Eichel Trade

Kings decline this and any package you can think of very easily. Eichel is definitely overrated. Very good player, but overrated. Has he ever got over 80 points? I don't believe so. When Vilardi reaches his ceiling, Eichel won't be much better than him as he has a similar ceiling to Kopitar. You can argue prime Kopitar is better than Eichel.

Byfield and a 1st is fair value for Eichel, but the package above is a massive overpay from LA.

The only player in the NHL that is worth a top 6 center who has 1C potential(Vilardi), a 1/2C/LW prospect(Turcotte), the 2nd best goal scorer in his class who also scored a goal in his NHL debut despite being 2 years away from the NHL(Kaliyev), a top 6 LW who hasn't even reached his potential yet(Kempe), and two 1st round picks who could be high picks is McDavid.

Again, Kings very easily decline. They are worse after making this trade.</div></div>

This may be the worse opinion I've read.

Eichel overrrated? LOL.. points aren't everything. He's had almost no support the entire time he's been there. He's been through almost as many coaches as years he's been in the league (tough to adjust to) and yet he's still been dominant. Watch him play before you spew dumb things like that.

Vilardi at his ceiling will be Eichel?! Sorry, did I read that right? LOL! Vilardi will never top 70 points. So if you wanna compare just off points like you did in your first argument, Vilardi won't even each Eichel's career high as of now.

Byfield and a 1st is a "massive overpay"?! LOL.. a prospect that's never played a game in the NHL and another that's likely 2-3 years away from the league (the unknown pick) is worth more than a top 5 player in the league? Wow.

I understand wanting to support your favourite team and believe all the best for them, but you've said the most homer thing I think I've ever read.

Eichel is dominant. He makes every player around him better. He's a pure play driver, point producer, contributes at both ends of the rink, is a leader in the dressing room, and is signed to a long term deal that's only getting better with age. Watch him play more. I understand if since you're a Kings fan you likely live on the west coast and it makes it hard to, fair enough. But watch him play more before you go throwing around comments like that.
