Boqvist has potential, if only the team didn't rush his development.

You pick one team from each group then take three players (min) from those teams. The only reason group 5 has 8 is because I took the best and worst teams from each division and put them in that group.

Yes, however the RFA's and ELC's are optional. When you finish the first 3 you have room in the roster to pick any 5 players from the teams you chose.

I'm honestly going to try this too! Defense needs some work, so I'd say they get a wild card spot and lose in the third round. There is room for the team to grow though.

In case you didn't read the description, this isn't meant to trigger anyone, just out of curiosity of how the team looks. I left it up entirely to chance except for the lines so I did not choose who stayed and who left. If it has to do with the combination of both team, which was also left to chance, then I'm sorry you have a problem with it, but you could have also just have said nothing or not even look at the team. As for the lines, this is the first time I'm trying the special lines which I mentioned in the description, and asked for a bit of slack. If it has to do with the lines, the least you could have done was tell me what I did wrong so I could fix that mistake in the future.

Some what. I take a number generator, line up the players by their salary, and if the number picked is where they're at on the roster then they stay/are traded to the team. The players chosen is left up to chance, so in a way yes and no. No because I don't select the players but yes because I would try to create the best lines I could with the players I have. Ideally I'd like to stay under the cap.
In other words I'm making something that could be super fun and over complicating it with math.

Deliver me into my fate
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksince71</b></div><div>... thus it can’t be called sport without the legion of fans who have the rite to express their opinion about what a manager did or didn’t do. What sometimes fans forget is the “fan” has limited information about a decision, and emotion which can rule the head.
I waited 49 years to watch this franchise become champions, and to be fortunate to watch two more championships was a privileged. I have seen some pretty pitiful clubs along this journey, and the current roster is light years ahead of those horrible clubs.
What I have seen differently over this last decade is this franchise has created a culture of winning. If you aren’t good enough to qualify for post season, then changes must be made. And sometimes changes are not popular but still need to get done.
Oh my God! The team hasn’t played one game, and so many have already doomed the season. And what if they get off to a slow start? So what? This team needs to continue its youth movement. The New York Rangers are the new model for today’s NHL.
There is much to be excited about this club. Can they realistically compete for the cup? Hell no. Could anybody say yes in back in 2007or 2008?
The NHL is the best professional league for parity. It is damn difficult to repeat as Stanley Cup finalists, yet be champions. Just ask the Blues & the Bruins? The Hawks made it to the Conference final, five times in seven years. For me, that is a the dynasty. Hawks fans relish that feat.</div></div>
Honestly, thank you! Reading this made me remember that there are teams that have it worst than the Hawks do right now. Not only that but other teams going through longer, more painful rebuilds. While my opinion on Bowman remains the same, but I now personally feel a bit better about the future of the Blackhawks. Then again, it doesn't really matter much because as you said, as fans, the information we have is limited in what went into each decision a gm makes.

Deliver me into my fate
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Unbiased_Hawks_Fan</b></div><div>As sad as I am about Crawford. We should honestly be excited about our young goalies. I mean, aren't supposed to be excited for Lankinen and Delia? Weren't we supposed to believe that one day they could hold the mantle. I still think the hawks pursue a starting goalie this offseason tho. I also think Bowman gets too much hate, but apparently I'm the only Hawks fan that thinks that.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>I agree with you. I think Bowman's made a ton of good moves. AND we get on him for signing Blackhawks Veterans for too long and too much money like Bickell and Seabs, but this is what the opposite looks like. This is exactly what Hawks fans need to realize they're WANTING when we complain about Seabs contract.</div></div>
Both is true, and I am honestly excited to see Lankinen and Delia get a chance to shine. I understand why Bowman had let him go, but it's like the situation with Corey Perry. You see someone where one sweater for a long time that it looks weird to see them in another sweater. Not only that but I always felt Crow would have retired a Hawk. He doesn't have much left in him. Crow might not be in the league for another five years because of his injuries. I wouldn't be happy if he was given Seabrooks contract and that isn't what I'm asking for. I'm saying that Bowman should have found a way to sign him for a decent price for 3 years, allow Crow to show Lankinen and Delia the ropes, basically be their mentor in How to Goalie in the NHL 101.

Realistic 2021 roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>minionhypers</b></div><div>Honestly if Chara retires and Krug asks for too much money, I think Pietrangelo coming to Boston would help them a lot especially in leadership and defensive chemistry. McAvoy and Clifton will probably have to mature more quickly than anticipated but Pietrangelo will help a lot especially after winning the Cup last year.</div></div>
I am not denying that. I actually just did a post not to long ago but the only reason I didn't have Pietrangelo on their was because of the possibility of resentment towards him. I feel he would fill the hole Krug would create because it seems he is leaning towards testing free agency. I feel that a lot of players in the league respect him, but I feel if he were to join the team, he would probably feel pressured to help win the team a cup, creating some tension in the locker room when playoff games are lost.

Realistic 2021 roster
Why would Tuuka Rask retire? Plus wouldn't signing a player from the very team that took the cup away from Boston mess with the chemistry? Don't get me wrong, Pietrangelo is a nice dude and has a lot of leadership abilities but do you really think he's going to have good chemistry with guys like Marchand, Krejci, and possibly Chara (if he's around for another year)?

I actually have to agree. If Bowman was hoping to build the future of the team and thought they had a shot at the playoffs he would have extended Lehner. Instead he sold him for a goaltender who had a mediocre season. He probably planned on tanking a bit in hopes of the smallest possibility of getting close to the first overall pick.

Chicago Loses to Edmonton gets 1st pick
Three teams that have the best chances of winning the lottery are the Oilers, Blackhawks, and Rangers. Hawks and Rangers are original six teams with big markets. The same thing could be said for the Maple Leafs but they have a lot of big contracts and if I am not mistaken their problem is more with coaching then the players. Rangers and Hawks have a good amount of problems but both could use a number one pick. As for Edmonton, they have some serious good luck with the draft lottery.

I do love urinating tree a lot! I get all that he says and there is plenty of merit. Reason I like Wilson in the president role is because he doesn’t need to sign any contracts, he just needs to put the right people in the right roles. I agree Yzerman made the Lightning, not JBB, which is why I lean more towards Brandon Pridham instead. Guy knows the CBA front back and sideways. It would be nice to have a “mind” like Megan Chayka as AGM, cuz he clearly has experience evaluating talent. Finally, I love Scott Sandelin, and I would be over the moon if the hawks went after him.</div></div>
