That would be either Martin Jones or Laurent Brossoit.

You can literally take any Oiler's team from 1979-80 to 1989-90 and you'll have 5+ forwards with pretty much 60+ points each. And to add to that, Paul Coffey was a thing.

Hooky Tim
Brattstrom posted a .914 and 33-14 record in Swe-1 this year, which is decent, but by no means is he already an NHL calibre goalie. I'd rather have DiPietro come up and play if we're going that route (which Demko definitely won't be a starter next season). As for the other trades, the comments above says it all.
I would also love if Gauds would sin that kind of deal, but no way it will happen. Max length would be 2 years, minimum price would be 2M.

I'd rather get a natural RHD if we're giving Virtanen.

Thoughts
Not the worst, but def in Ottawa's favour. We can flip Ferland if we need to do so, So at that point, it's Sutter + Demko + 1st +3rd and 4th for... 2 seconds? Demko is only getting moved for Eriksson's cap hit or another dump adding up to 6M, so Demko + Sutter is already in Ottawa's favour, and I'd rather keep a 1st and 2 mid-round picks instead of a couple higher picks. The draft has talented 2nd round caliber players in the 3rd and 4th round, no need to move up.

Canucks Salary Cap Flexibility and Exapnsion Draft Protection
Good analysis. I agree with most of the points. What I don't exactly like though is Demko being moved. I love him and all, but I'm not sure if he can keep up the past couple years of elite goaltending. I guess it falls on the 2020-21 season and seeing how Demko works out, if Markstrom can stay Vezina level, and what the trade deadline looks like and how much cash to resign Pettersson and Hughes. If Markstrom struggles and Demko breaks out, the best move would protect Demko instead. I really don't want to throw Baer in the AHL, so I really hope he can grab a chance on another roster.

plus, no way would I give more assets to acquire him. And Buffalo says no to that proposed deal, you'll have to throw in a 2nd + prospect for them to consider that.
In the end, it's not worth it.

I'd say Bear gets a tad bit more, but I'm not sure what he's worth (3-4M?). Ottawa needs a sweetener for that deal to work, 4M doesn't get off that easy.

Three-Round Ranking w/ Top-8 Mock Notes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Native</b></div><div>I think with the sens, if Byfield falls to them at 3 they rather take 1 of Perfetti, Raymond or Holtz. If they get stutzle, I can see them still searching for a sure fire C, such as Rossi. I can’t see them taking drysdale because they already have 2 OFD in Chabot and Brannstrom, plus 2 RHD that were both picked in the first round. Only way I see them taking drysdale is if Pierre decides drysdale is the best possible player available. If they pick 2 F, likely they pick a D with the isles pick.</div></div>
I think it's best if they went all-in on forwards with their first-round picks. Hard to pass up on Stutzle/Byfield Rossi/Perfetti and Bourque/Gunler/Perrault/Peterka. They have plenty of second-rounders, and with how much depth all around this draft contains, they can easily find hidden gems that might've been right outside the first round (examples such as Niemela, O'Rourke, Andrae.)

An Alzner dump already costs you a 2nd + more, and to get a Top 6/9 player coming back is great for Montreal. Not very much to Vegas, though.

Penguins aren't doing that, and the same goes for Oilers and both the Avs trade. They can pick Tanev up inn free agency, no need to pay to get him. Markstrom's contract is an actual nightmare, and Gaudette, Virtanen and even Stetcher are making too much (as of now). The Eriksson deal seems to be the proposed deal on most Nucks ACGM, but Carolina needs some cap space (Svechnikov contract).

I'd rather not do the deal if we have to take back Comeau and Cogliano. Pretty much same cap hit, and we're losing a potential top-6 forward and a pick.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>nics6ix</b></div><div>This really rounds off the D, but I don't know how fair it really is. I think Boeser's value is much greater than what most people think and sadly I honestly think if VAN does decide to trade him, they will evidently lose the trade, whatever it is. Boeser's future is special, while you do get prospect and picks, it's hard to say that for a team contending for the cup that picks are more important than role players.</div></div>
Well said. I was a Boeser fan since his draft, and I've never explored the thought of him in another jersey until recently. I hope he stays with the team, but if he is moved, I hope it's for the better.

The only reason Boeser is even in trade talks is because the Canucks need to clear salary. You missed the ballpark by a mile.
