Cozens makes the team
With his skating and size there’s a decent chance he could imo. Needs to bulk up and would probably start out on a wing. But not out of question at all.

Tuchen Byram Poolparty man
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rednwhite</b></div><div>EDM isn't giving JP away for nothing, just yet. Why would Detroit give up Svech and a 2nd to move up 2 spots, I could see one of the assets maybe. Hirose and McIsaac are two young pieces that the Wings are high on and fit into the Wings window (3-4 years to truly contending). Tuch is a great player and I do think the value is fair, however in my mind it doesn't make sense to make that deal as the Wings can't afford to give up high end defensive prospects right now.</div></div>
I don’t think Edmonton is far from it. Especially if he wants more money. Holland may be looking to deal for cheaper wingers and picks.
The principle of trading mcisaac is based on drafting Byram, tuch is a player I think fits for a mcisaac type trade as Vegas is going to be hurting for cap space and his spot could be replaced by gusav. Fits the wings due to a lack of righties and a lack of talented power forward to play with Little Z.
Honestly figured I would get more backlash for trading mcisaac lol

Realistic opening roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ford_nickj</b></div><div>I see the Svech to Carolina deal all the time. While I would love to make a deal why would any team give up a legitimate prospect for a guy who has yet to play a full season of pro hockey, and coming off an ACL tear. I loved the pick and the prospect Svechnikov., but no team is going to risk making a deal for him.</div></div>
Hayden fleury was drafted in 2014 and is yet to play a full season of nhl hockey. Svechnikov was drafted in 2015 and has the one injury as the setback on his record. If he’s healthy, the value is there and a fit in needs for both teams

Ericsson and Abby both have negative trade value. I understand you’re moving picks with Abby but it would take more if you expect that return for them taking the cap. Ericsson is a buy out or burry candidate. No sense in paying someone to take his ridiculous contract and his ridiculous play.

He’s not holding out an entire year. He’s signing a one year deal to free agency. Just as the one year deal he signed this time last year (via arbitration)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wojme</b></div><div>He's an rfa now. You think a team is gonna just sign him to a one year deal?</div></div>
If you were a player and weren’t traded to where you wanted to be would you not do anything in your power to give yourself options both contractually and geographically? He’s a rfa with arbitration right now who will have no control over where he’s traded, which is why his value is decreased because there’s a plausibility that he’s only a rental. And in a year he’s a ufa that can go anywhere he wants for open market cash. Players have power too.

Probably true, I put him in as a stop gap more or less for the first 10 games or so while svechnikov readjusts to playing from his injury in the AHL. Then they can swap back unless Raddysh dazzles

Lol I know. Honestly if Chicago passes on him (which I very much so could see them doing) I still don’t think he falls to 6.
This draft as a whole is quite unpredictable from the 3-15 range though and I like it

Agree. If Murray can stay healthy at least. Would really love if Detroit could find a way to get werenski out or Columbus but can’t see a feasible trade to be had there.

I do but likely Detroit adds a fourth or so and Carolina doesn’t give up a pick. Not much of a future for fleury in Carolina given current LD and Bean about to be ready as well. And will be in the market for a forward or 2 this offseason

I don’t disagree at all. And I think (health dependent) I could definitely get more value out of green. I just wanted to find a match of a cheap right handed player that can get low and play heavy with big ras to create havoc down low. Ritchie seemed my fit

Another 2019-2020 Realistic Scenario
Most of your lines I agree with. Though I do think, knowing blashil that the second line will probably look different. He will want a better defensive player or power forward with doubles and hirose. Maybe Zadina moves to top line and Bert moves down. Maybe something different. But just where my heads at looking towards next season.

Epic Draft
Tbh with the way Athanasiou has played lately as a 2c, I’d be more than happy to be picking Kakko at 2nd overall and not getting Hughes. I honestly wouldn’t even be mad if we fell into position (5-6) to take Bowen Bryam. Because let’s be honest. We need more defensive help. AA looks really good and is building nice chemistry with Hirose. Svech zadina will be ready next season. The way this is all shaping up, I’m happy as hell no matter where we draft. Now that blashill and holland thing is the issue lol
