Winnipeg no choice
Is this like when Winnipeg had no choice but to trade PLD to Montreal for garbage because Montreal had all the leverage?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Lindholm - obviously the one to pursue here. Probably too much to acquire though due to competition for his services.
Monahan - not an improvement over anything the Jets already have. Bad fit for the Jets. Not good enough offensively for the top 6, not good enough defensively for the bottom 6. The Jets are playing well and shouldn't go out of their way to mess with their lineup to add an inconsequential player.
Granlund - not an improvement over anything the Jets already have.
Schmaltz - Won't be available imo.
Henrique - why bother.
Hopefully of Chevy is thinking of adding, he's looking at guys none of us think are available.</div></div>
I disagree about Monahan and Grandlund not being an upgrade. Either one could supplant Nameskiov as the 2C (at times), but either could be really good 4th liners with PP time.
The more I think about it, the more i want Chevvy to go big game hunting on a 2C. Not sure who, Lindholm perhaps, but preferably someone with term if they have to give up such so much

I bet Granlund and Ehlers would be pretty awesome on the Jets 2nd line.

Granlund would be my pick, not sure SJ is retaining though cause they have two retention spots used up on Burns and Karlsson already, they probably prefer to use their last retention spot on a UFA so they have another one at next years TDL.

Jets get Lindholm
Pretty obvious no from Winnipeg. No one pays that much for a rental. Lindholm is good, but he's not getting a never before seen return.

Jets dream deadline
I don't think Dobson is the target at TDL. Even if the Jets make a deal with a rebuilding Islanders, it would be Brock Nelson or Ryan Pulock. RHD's like Dobson are pretty much un-acquirable for competing teams that can't give back key players (like Perfetti).

This would be a fantastic deal for the Jets. Schmaltz is really good and underrated playing in ARI. We may have to give up one of the big three forward prospects though to get him (Lucius, McGroarty, Lambert).
I think the Jets also trade for a D though. I hope it's an real impact guy but I see more of a depth piece being the reality</div></div>
Like you say, need that impact guy to pair up with Morrissey. DeMelo just isn't that guy.

Well if they acquire Schmaltz, maybe they deal Dubois and get Anderson+a Dman (Savard or Edmundson) from MTL.

Less than no chance PLD considers a lowball offer sheet. If he signs that cheap the Jets just keep him.

The Rangers would want more and conversely, Lafreniere isn't worth what you have offered here. I think the Rangers would want a drastic overpay to move him.

Too much value going to CHI. I would definitely be interested in bringing in Toews at the deadline but not for that price.

No. Wayyyyyyy to much value going to Chicago. Towes is worth a first max with retention, not a first and heinola.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>hwjw</b></div><div>That is an overpay for the Jets. I just think Van would have to add in order to get Pionk, who is playing pretty well this year</div></div>
Agreed. But I wasn’t sure how much they’d have to add so I just left it until I got feedback. Pionk has been solid, jets need a spot for heinola going forward and he doesn’t replace what DeMelo brings.

No Dobson or Barzal Miller to Isles
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>hwjw</b></div><div>In what world does that move the needle for the Canucks.</div></div>
It wouldn't be about moving the needle this upcoming season, but to improve in the long term. I know that may seem foreign to Canucks fans, but other teams do stuff like that all the time.
Outside of that, it looks like I've stumbled upon a rare "both teams say no" trade scenario.

Van - Wpg Miller finally gets moved
Jets decline instantly. They don't have space to resign Miller and there is no way they are willing to trade Scheifele. Pearson doesn't have negative contract value (maybe you can fetch a 4th for him) whilst Dickinson does and is a cap dump (3rd to get rid of him). So, the Jets get:
1 year of Miller (rental)
2 years of an unreliable 4th line defensive forward in Dickinson with a 2.6M cap hit
2 years of Pearson
And give up:
2 Years of Scheifele (Canucks could make space to resign him)
Appleton (RFA, full control)
A good prospect in Barron
Another good prospect in Lundmark
A 1st
Crazy trade.
