Wouldn't Eaves hurt a budget team like Anaheim a lot more than it would hurt other teams?

Dzingel and ZAR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>trvisXX</b></div><div>The lines aren't the important part. It's switchable. What's wrong with the acquisition itself?</div></div>
ZAR is a injury prone 4th liner who like maybe has 3rd line potential, and even saying that is a stretch imo.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>trvisXX</b></div><div>Also, you can’t tell me you’re still high on Zboril, can you? He has not future in Boston. Vaak, Lauzon, Clifton, Carlo, McAvoy all ahead of him...</div></div>
Don't know much about Zboril, but I don't think that would be smart for Bsoton.

Never would I ever think I would see in an Armchair GM, someone trade actual assets for Zach Aston-Reese and play him in their top 6. Thats my wildest dream.

Penguins No JJ Trade Gusev
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mhockey91</b></div><div>Yeah but here’s the thing, Jugs is much better than Tanev. That’s a dumb downgrade. Tanev is a rust downgrade as well. Rutherford has no clear sense of how to manage the salary cap.</div></div>
He already said he knows he has to make another trade. Pretty much going to be between Rust and Bjustad. I think the Blueger 3C experiment may actually be worth the risk. We just saw what Sundqvist did last year, who knows. If not, sucks to go into this season without a 3C (although there is cap room) but the team is a lot better.
I am setting myself up for disappointment with Gusev, I think hes the next Dadanov. A 60+ potential point winger at 4M (even if its only one season, go for it all this year then) is something that launches us into contender status. Move Johnson in season with picks if Riikola looks good, and invest that cash? You got a serious contender.

Trade Jarry/DeSmith for a pick and bury him in the AHL and let Larmi get a good amount of games. Just a one year cap dump that fills a organizational need.

Nick Bjustad is a 2nd line winger or (good) 3C. His contract comes off the books in 2 years, perfect and relatively cheap (Melnyk would like him) stop gap that they can let walk off the books in 2 years. Rob Rossi from The Athletic said more than a few teams called on Nick Bjustad. He's got value. They also get ZAR and he is a cheap and young 4th liner currently, but he might have 3rd line upside.

Can POJ make the team next year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Amplifys</b></div><div>Almeida and Bellerive are quite good prospects as well</div></div>
The Penguins may not have a ton of overly intriguing pieces, but we have a decent amount of guys, and usually a lot of them end up seeing NHL time. If anything our late round picks pan out better than the higher drafted guys. Recently speaking at least. I think Almiedas ceiling could be very high.

I think I am more happy about POJ then Galchenyuk. That being said its nice Galchenyuk is a pending FA and we have the flexibility to make some moves and room to resign a lot of RFAs.

Fair. Montreal has a lot of wingers that could probably be of value to the Penguins, but the salaries in that trade aligned very close.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Frankyhabs</b></div><div>not THE WORST trade I saw today for Letang, still overpaid by the habs IMO

Fair. The pick could definitely be negotiated. Penguins would obviously love a first over a third.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>cap2018champs</b></div><div>I think the value is fair for everything. Don't think Anaheim is interested in Trading any future picks though. Also, so many Pens fans want to trade Rust. I think he is so underrated and under utilized by Sullivan.</div></div>
Rust is pretty much a victim of us having Kessel and Hornqvist (one of them playing on the 3rd line at all times), so if Rust isn't playing with Crosby then he's on his off hand and not as effective. He is pretty much a good utility winger who fits our team well, but is a cap victim.

Can't see Vegas trading Gusev, the whole idea of the trade is to help them acquire a good player and shed cap since they are in an absolute bind. Don't hate Gudbranson, but we save enough money in that trade to make us in line with the cap. I don't think Gudbranson is awful, but he is surely overpaid.

Brodie is a lefty that has primarily played on the right side in order to play heavy minutes with Giordano. Letang, Schultz, Gudbranson, and Ruhwedel are right handed, and Dumoulin, Brodie, Petterson, and Riikola are left handed, so its an even 4/4 split.
Bjustad has played C and RW enough to where he is equally comfortable at both, and Bjustads better seasons have come on the wing. McCann played LW down the stretch for the Penguins, but can play both as well. Not sure why having versatility on the roster is a bad thing Einstein.

Ceci is not worse than Johnson. Did you miss the part where Ceci isn't even on the roster and got traded for a late pick? JR does it to rid himself of JJ. Essentially just loses a 2nd for JJ.
