Do you think he's playing up to 1OA potential? I'm a fan of his, so I'll root for him to live up to his potential, but so far I don't think he's top 3 in his class. Probably somewhere between top 5-10.

Meier - Rangers

No offense to NYR, but their prospect list is a lot shorter than it was a few years ago. Most of their top prospects have panned out well and are likely to be untouchable (Kakko, Chytil, Miller, etc.). I think Laf is the most likely the best choice in terms of similar timeline and skills set the Sharks would want. Sharks are also dry on defensive prospects, so Jones is a nice selection.

Btw it isn't a rebuild, reboot, retool or refresh. We're changing the game. It's a ReSharking.

If they do I can't imagine that Kane will want to stay, and losing both players means terrible things for ticket sales.
Seems almost identical to our Meier situation. Team doesn't want to trade but will entertain offers. Has insane QO. Would mean bad things for sales and roster morale if he was removed.

Fair enough, it's just the price I've been seeing around here. If they can bring him back at $1m/yr, I won't complain about it.

If he stays in San Jose for the season, I could see him getting <em>some</em> games in the NHL, but most of the time he'd be in the AHL.

Rent Panarin
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>icehawk2006</b></div><div>Yup, Braun would be just fine.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BurgerBoss</b></div><div>Well how about Braun then?</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>slepler</b></div><div>I would do either of those trades in a second. Simply put, Panarin is a game changer. He's among the top 10 forwards in the league. He's defensively responsible. He's lighting fast. Where he goes, teams win, and when he leaves, his old teams lose. He is a superstar pure and simple, and I'll take my chances on resigning him later.
Picks are picks. They are unlikely to be big and the sharks have a knack of finding good ones late, signing good FA's from europe, college, and jrs. trading picks to win this year is fine with me. Bancer is good, but he is still failing to find a steady spot in the top 9. Losing him a rental sucks, but at the same time, Dougie is not gunna wanna commit $ and term to him.
Chmelevski is also a good "sell high" example. His Team USA performace was awesome, but they have a glut of good 19-22 year old forwards in the system, so they can easily afford to lose one or two with little bump.
I strong doubt the jackets will trade panarin for Labanc, a prospect, and some mid round picks. I expect they'd look for more. Still dougie is a magician, and panarin would be a hell of a rabbit to pull out of his hat. I think Nyquist might be a more realistic target, but one can dream.</div></div>

Sharks 18-19 w/ Tavares Wowwwwwww Cup Champs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>icehawk2006</b></div><div>Vlasic just signed a long term contract and he's considered the core of the team, he isn't going anywhere and certainly not Buffalo. You can have Boedker though. Tavares wont sign for more than $10M per season. He's good but if you make a comparison of his stats to McDavid, $10M is about right. Also, gonna have to pay more for Evander Kane's services most likely. Hertl just isn't a $6M per year player. He hasn't surpassed 50 pts in any season. Also, you are going to have to pay Tierney much more than that on a bridge deal, think Hertl's expiring contract. If the Sharks sign Tavares, they likely wont resign Jumbo.
Try again please.</div></div>
Agree with you on everything except how much Tavares signs for. He will get over $11 million, I agree with you that he shouldn’t but desperate teams will offer him ridiculous contracts. Cough cough MTL

Sharks 19-20 Fun
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>icehawk2006</b></div><div>Yeah, this is two years from now. So the cap is going to go up about $5-7M this year (Bettman #confirmed) and about $2M the next year. We don’t necessarily have to move Boedker but certainly can’t keep Paul this offseason. Moving Boedker would be prudent for cap space purposes, but not necessary because even if we sign those guys, we’ll be below the cap, albeit by only a mil or so.</div></div>
I should probably read before I open my mouth. Haha.
