<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>yikes</b></div><div>just speaking on people who know more then myself (and Pierre McGuire and Costantino just knew when I say nothing about Bystedt, they knew nothing) - they said nothing about him and just critized. When you read up on him and ask around he actually wasn't a bad pick and while I support the Lambert camp (I was way more Lekki and Kemell and furious we past on them at 11).

But there is a lot of HYPE for Havelid and was not a reach. Lund is okay.

I would have liked one of the Russians at Havelids pick and passed on Lund for Havelid instead.

The Burns trade hurt sentimentally but the big gain is cap freedom for our upcoming rookies/ extensions.
Next; Lindblom was personally my favorite UFA candidate. I did not get my hopes up for him and we should be glad he took a waiver on us (as he signed it, we're lucky).
Yeah it may not work out but he woulda got a chance somewhere, and personally see him as amazing bounce back candidate . This guy was sicked solid in his prime health and he still has flashes of that **** - he was derailed by more then an injury and I think he could find his stride easily.

Overreacting on Eklund and Bords; I can't see their play losing them a spot/ the investment they are. If they play well, if they show hey we're still "IT" at camp; they'll be Sharks.
If Benning outplays Merkley and if Strum outplays Eklund+Bords then what the **** are they doing, lets place them in the AHL and get them in gear? You see what I mean? Breathe I think we're safe here.

Personally I see Gregor - Bords - Kunin on the third and I believe Labanc is gonna be gone.</div></div>

Bords and Eklund arent going to play in the NHL this year given these moves. Bystedt is a bad pick for the place they picked. He would have been available where lund was drafted. the Burns trade for cap space was offset by all the bottom 6 signings. Lindblom is Balcers just more expensive

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FunMustBeAlways</b></div><div>Trades are decent but that offer sheet is just too much to swallow. I’d much rather go after someone in free agency for that price. If we’re gonna throw around money like that, may as well keep our picks. Sharks have drafted very well with 1st rounders in the last 5-6 years.

And pass on tha Zadorov contract.</div></div>

I appreciate your comment. So let me explain in detail. You won’t get a FA with that 30 goal capability for any less money and really probably for anything less than 7 years. It’s a $500k-$1M overpay per year, sure, but that’s the only way you get him. It’s true, the Sharks have drafted well. However outside of Eklund, none of the Sharks prospects are likely to be top 6 caliber. Even Eklund isn’t guaranteed (mostly because of the development issues for the franchise). The argument could be made for trading a player and a pick for Boeser’s rights, but that’s likely to be 2023 first rounder anyway. With these moves, the Sharks are likely to make the playoff, which means the pick is in the 17-23 range, so the player drafted will likely be an nhl player, but not a top 6 goal scoring threat. The FA forwards on the market, that are likely to actually hit the market are 20-25 goal scorers at best, and older. I’m not counting on Burakovsky and Nichushkin both being available or repeating their career performances from a stacked Colorado team at the age where most pro athletes peak. Also, specifically looking for a RW who shoots right. Laine is a possibility but he’s an RFA and going to get $9M+ and the Sharks don’t need that hit. I would take Boeser and his goal scoring, along with the fact he still hasn’t reached his peak, over any of the aforementioned who are likely going to be paid only $1M or so less.

Zadorov made 3.75 this year. The extra .25 is essentially a CA tax penalty.
