Or, trade him. He's got a season left on his deal. Could get a big return.
They can't re-sign Mika, Fox, Kakko and Kravtsov with that cap space, Then they have issues with Miller and Lafreniere.

Yeah not sure where that number came from haha, plus he’s literally only ever played well with Panarin, and to be honest, most players probably could put up 50 pts with panarin LOL.
A 2nd for Strome is definitely fair.
As for the rest of the post, Vancouver thanks you and matches. Fox is due for a massive raise. I’m guessing he’ll be asking for 9 million or more on an 8 year deal. Might as well just cash in early. The rangers should just stay pat where they’re at and see how the young guys progress next year, bring in a vet or two for leadership and see how it goes. There’s 0 reason to rush their rebuild.

Jake Sanderson will be playing for the University of North Dakota next year.
In this post, he is signed to his ELC.

Not out of camp but he could join after the college season ends for the last few games of the regular season if he turns pro (seems likely)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>Panarin has factored into 47% of the points Strome has this year. Last year Panarin factored in 54% of Strome's points. I'd pump the breaks on Strome not needing Panarin.</div></div>
When Panarin was out, Strome had 9 points in 9 games without him.
This is an exhausting argument. Of course Panarin has factored into half of Strome's points - they play on a line together IN A TEAM GAME.

THROWBACK Old Hot Take from THN
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>irishbreadman</b></div><div>both teams kinda benefit; letting the blackhawks try to extend their dynasty. but, from the oilers side, I'm assuming that taylor hall would not have been traded for adam larsson in 2016 then, giving the oilers a pretty solid roster.</div></div>
True, it would have looked good for one season, may have put EDM over the edge to get to the conference final (Seabrook was still a top 4, if not top pair dman that year). But what is wild is, IMO, Drai may have become an even better player/leader with the amount of veteran experience around him in Toews, Kane, Keith etc that he hasn't had on the Oil. So even with a better 2016/17 season for the Oil, would have ended up as absolutely terrible for a decade after lol.

Trade Eichel Build around Reinhart and Coz
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>irishbreadman</b></div><div>Rangers politely decline. If they were much closer to being contenders I could see them considering it, but as it stands now they are not in a "win now" mindset. Much better off taking their time and fully realizing the rebuild. Honestly my personal belief is Jeff Gorton (GM) will not make the trade if Kakko/Lafreniere is involved. If he loses out on Eichel because of that, so be it. I think he is content to continue on the current path.</div></div>
jeff is one of the best and smartest GM's i dont see him making this trade

I think both clubs should just stick with their rebuilds and not bother trading for Eichel though.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Root</b></div><div>Don't shoot the messenger but it was Elliotte Friedman that specifically said the Rangers. “The team I would look at first is the Rangers,” Friedman said before the host added the L.A. I think both those teams could make deals with Buffalo that would make you say maybe we didn’t get the best player in the deal, but you are getting more than one thing you’re excited about.”</div></div>
Hahaha, sorry! Wasn't meant to be a "Gunz blazin'!" moment. I just find that the huge sticking point with Rangers fans is "We're not giving up either of our top 2 prospect(ish) guys (Laffy/Kakko), which, to me, seems like a weird line to draw. Like, "Hey, I want one of the top 6 or 7 centers in the game, but I refuse to give up a prospect who *MAY* someday be as good as that player". Like, as a Ducks fan, would I consider moving Zegras or Drysdale for him? Sure. If I thought we were one player away from being a contender, I absolutely would (We're not though, so the point is kind of moot). If I'm LA, would I include Byfield? Yup. Montreal-Suzuki? Yup. On, and on, and on. If I'm confident that's who I need, I'm moving the prospect every day of the week (As long as it works cap-wise).

I think it comes down to Quantity vs. Quality (Which is a very fine line, and is not meant to upset Rangers fans who are pretty high on Lundkvist, Kravtsov and Robertson). To me, if I'm Buffalo, I'm not doing it without Lafreniere being included. Obviously that means you're getting less pieces back overall, but I think I need to be getting someone back that may someday get to an Eichel-type level, as opposed to some lottery tickets.

in all seriousness, no idea. probably not in the opener since the Islanders are so good defensively. Kakko took 3 games so I guess that's the magic number</div></div>

to return back to the main point, yes Kakko could be more expendable with Laf.</div></div>

Getting some puljiarvi vibes reading this. Tough to come into the nhl as a high pick. I am sure he will be a lot better this year especially with the team improving as a whole. Would getting laf make him more expendable though? (To get a 1B C)
