We all know Lou doesnt know what the word sell means
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bensartena</b></div><div>most Islanders fans are some of the most miserable fans on the face of the planet. Islanders will be fine... Lou has been the best GM the Islanders have had in 20 years and you miserable people still find a way to complain every day. It was just two years ago Islanders made back to back conference championships. Despite all the injuries they still hold a damn playoff spot lmao. You guys need to stop</div></div>
I respect what happened to get us to the ECF, but we now are in a very bad spot with many guys regressing and one of the oldest rosters in the league- a team that makes the ECF back to back shouldn't be following it up with back-to-back playoff misses, especially with such a small prospect pool. All I'm saying here is that Lou won't sell because he never has in his career. He goes for the playoff push this year and leaves the cleanup to the next GM, since Lou will in all likelihood retire at the end of this year since he is 80.

Let the ship sink, the season has been over for us for some time now.
We'll make the playoffs next season if Lou makes the right decisions with this team at the deadline and in the off-season.</div></div>
Truthfully the right decision would have been to sell completely and not go get Horvat (although I think he is very good and could contribute). Unfortunately Lou is not going to do that, his track record shows he is going to win or be fired trying, now he just has the security of retirement at the end of the year so he doesn't get fired this time

Rebuild Part 2- Offseason and 2022-23 TDL
It is absolutely wild to me that people constantly hate on Trotz as if he didn't just lead us to two straight ECF's, including being essentially one Yanni Gourde goal away from winning a Stanley Cup (we would've beaten the Habs). There is no coach better that would come here right now. He is a HOF coach and Stanley Cup champ. As for the development point, look at Dobson. We all whined about him sitting parts of last year and now he's drawing comparisons to Makar (Anson Carter) and was ranked 5th on the Athletic's Norris watchlist. I can almost guarantee more run for Wahlstrom post deadline and next season in that similar pattern like we did with Dobson.

Wahlstrom + Bellows + picks? that's too much. Ladd has a terrible contract yes, but bellows + isles 2021 first should be enough to move it. Ladd has potential to be LTIR'd because he has had 2 serious knee injuries. Can't clear the farm to move only one contract

Cap Haven - Penguins and Islanders
I think the isles deal is in the ballpark, maybe not a 2021 first (maybe a 2nd or 3rd) or maybe not the retention, but not far off. Definitely valuable to move the Boychuk and leddy contracts in one move.

Hawkisles you said you would go for another top 6 forward over Eberle. Who could the isles get? I think its an interesting idea considering some uncertainty around ebs

So the #3 and #15 pick and a 25 goal scorer is not enough for a 30 goal scorer. Colorado would take this deal in a heartbeat</div></div>
JeffreyPatty is right. Deal currently on the table for Duchene per TSN is hamonic ALONE. That deal would be taken in a heartbeat. This is the link confirming the offer on the table. <a href="https://eyesonisles.com/2017/06/12/new-york-islanders-daily-front-runners-matt-duchene/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://eyesonisles.com/2017/06/12/new-york-islanders-daily-front-runners-matt-duchene/</a>

duchene
Isles probably have to give up a first in the duchene deal, although that's not a big loss with this year's draft class. Love the cap situation isles are in after these deals with $6.5 mil, which allows them to be in the running for a major FA.

Fowler/Johnson/3rd overall pick. ANALYSIS and thoughts?
I like this for the Isles. But as mentioned above, the Stars are looking for an established player. I also heard they are looking for a top end defenseman, so i think they would want hamonic, MDC and Kulemin. The isles wouldn'd and shouldn't accept a deal like that unless they get the 3rd overall and something else for MDC, Kulemin and Hamonic. Great job, love the ideas, but i think the Stars only want it one way and won't waver much in their value

Nnyi
No way coyotes give up a first for Prince. Too injury prone and not enough output to back it up due to limited playing time. I would think the highest pick given up for Prince would be a 2nd if that
