It's hilarious you go to, you never played hockey. I don't need to prove any credentials to you. Keeping his head up, doesn't mean he can take an elbow to the face, it's immaterial. Again I will tell you, he took the wrong path to his hit and he'll get suspended for it. The principal point of contact is THE HEAD, with that, he will be suspended.

No idea why a guy around 6'3 was skating so low while being well aware of what was coming. MacDermid lays a lot of big hits and most of them are clean. So I don't know what you are talking about. Being a very physical player you are going to land some bad hits every once in awhile. It's the nature of the business. Goes that way for every player.</div></div>
Ivan may have seen him, but it's on MacDermid to make sure that the path to his hit does not make the principal point of contact the head and he failed, he elbowed Provorov in the head. If MacDermid chose a different route, like a east-west vs north-south, this is a shoulder on shoulder and a legal check. The route he took will be what gets him suspended.

As someone that is a Gulls/Ducks fan. This guy is not a god. He's a liability. He throws questionable hits that have gotten him suspended in the past. Unless he changes that part of his game, he'll be out of the nhl and back in the ahl.

Ceci for Holzer
Based on what I have seen, Ceci is hardly an NHL dman or Babcock is not utilizing him correctly. He's far too expensive to be a 6/7, where Holzer is now. If Ducks made that trade, Toronto needs to sweeten the pot.

Someone please take Ritchie
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Icarus</b></div><div>I definitely agree with this take. I think as much as we wish we got a better player at 10, especially considering 2014 ended up yielding a lot of good players after 10 (Vrana, Larkin [oof], Sanheim, Deangelo, Kapanen, and of course Pastranak), we didn't. And that happens. From a draft perspective, Ritchie is one of the biggest busts of the first round. But if you look at contract to contribution, he's a steal. When Ritchie plays well he can generate good offense, is a solid front net presence, and a physical force. That being said, I don't think he fits the future of the Ducks. We saw in buffalo that our team plays best quick, scrappy, and creatively. Ritchie is not that. I think there is a better fit on another team, but I would be surprised if a team pursuing him offers more than a late pick.</div></div>
What about a team like Carolina? They're apparently interested in a top 9 f. Ritchie for Roland Mckeown + anything?

Sven claimed
It is known that Baertschi is one decent hit away from his career being over. He's had too many really bad concussions. It is surprising he's even still playing. Benning basically hinted that Sven is hesitant to play in certain situations because of his injury history. Pass.

If Jets are smart, they won't overpay, I'd likely go with a bridge deal to have Laine prove his worth. 2x 6mil likely or they could add a 3rd year. This is comparable to the bridge deal that Kucherov signed.

Also, this is exhibit A of piss poor asset management. Last year not withstanding, Rakell nets nearly 70pts and Perry nets 50pts. Unless Laine becomes the second-coming of Kucherov, you're wasting assets for no reason, plus retaining? No way Ducks do this.

I have to disagree with Laine being better, he may be a better goal scorer, but that's just it. He's a Cy young. The droughts are what worries me with him, which is likely why Jets do not sign him long term. He needs to evolve into a more complete player, or at least, not a detriment to his team. I'd rather keep Rakell, because he did have a down year but it was in Carlyle's crap ass system.

What I would do
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jimmerisagod</b></div><div>Idk. Vegas needs cap space. They pay anaheim to take the space and Anaheim gains roster room for their youngsters. I'm pretty new at this, but I appreciate the suggestion</div></div>
Things to keep in mind, Anaheim is not a super wealthy team, it is hard for them to take on additional salary like the Clarkson deal, especially if salary is owed. They couldn't take on that deal without cap/salary going back. Lastly, for them to take that deal, if they could, it'd take wayyy more than a 2nd, a 4th and a 4th line roster player. It would likely take a blue chip prospect, like a Cody Glass.
Also wanted to point out that Clarkson goes on LTIR. His career has been done. That contract is not one of the one's Vegas would look to move.

Voracek - Perry Deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bdinella</b></div><div>I agree Voracek doesn't make sense for the Ducks but you don't think he is worth more than a guy who hasn't played a game yet this year and coming off knee surgery and another guy who is out indefinately with a torn labrum? ??? Voracek is 29, yes has an inflated contract at 8.25 with 6 years left but Perry has 3 years left and makes more. Voracek almost scored more points last year than Kase and Perry combined</div></div>
You know Perry has a NMC (No Movement Clause). He won't be going anywhere unless HE wants to and I doubt he wants to go to Philly. Kesler and Perry will be Ducks forever, at least while they can still "play."

Yea, Ducks do not need another 30+ year old center. He only had 5 goals last year and still on the books for another 3 years at 3.25mil. I'd pass. We need to get younger and faster. I think either Steel or Lundestrom will get their chances at that 3rd line C.

Karlsson - What I think it would take
I like it as well, however, it would never happen. If the reports are true about the bonus money, the Ducks are no different with being salary strapped team. There is no way they could give out a bonus like the JT or Doughty (10mil + on July 1st).

Ducks trade for Pacioretty. Thoughts?

I know, but then you have Patches for next season, that has potential cap implications and if Eaves is able to play next season, where do you fit both of them and Raks? That has line chemistry implications and could really muck up chemistry.

Ducks trade for Pacioretty. Thoughts?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>getzlafshair</b></div><div>Good points. I would argue the Ducks would like to add a scoring winger like Max. The Ducks also very rarely trade 1st round picks, which means we have a ton of up and coming players from that last few drafts. They could potentially afford to lose one for this year. Also, the Ducks still are battling for playoff position and could potentially miss so Bob Murray may not even pull the trigger on a deadline acquisition. Thank for the input :D</div></div>
I do see the point in adding a winger but what about when Eaves can finally play? The cap situation, chemistry and lines all play a part in a decision to add in front. I'd argue Ducks need a defender more than offense.

Ducks with EK + BR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>No thanks!
Montour is currently playing on the top pair. He's a RHD. He's young, he's under team control, and he's got great potential. Is EK an upgrade? No doubt. But is that upgrade big enough to give what amounts to 3 first rounders (including Jones), a second, and a top 6 forward back, all the while taking on Bobby Ryan's terrible contract? Hellllll no. Not to mention that they'll be in cap trouble if they resign Karlsson for anywhere near what he's going to be asking for.</div></div>
If EK was the EK before the cyborg ankle, then I think GM BM might think about trying to get him, think Pronger/Niedermayer type setup. As it stands, BM should stay far away from EK.

Overpayment for a player the Ducks don't really need. The asking price is too high because Bergevin got fleeced on the Sergachev trade. 1st round picks seem to be under valued in a deep drafts in the next few seasons. Ritchie is playing much better since playing with Kase and Rico. Pass.

Agreed here. Roy is faster and more dynamic. He would fit in well with Kase. I think Ritchie might be packaged in a deal and sent out. Also, Grant is a lefty, Wagner is a righty and would probably slot in on that 4th line RW over Grant.

Call me more realistic.. Vatenan can be replaced by Montour. Ducks are in a more win-now mode then others may think and we need younger players moving forward. I see this as a win-win.
